He’s Out of This World #1

Crash-Landed in Love

Rate this book
He comes in peace… amongst other things

When college kid Jude Adler wishes for a new life on a shooting star, he never imagined it would come in the form of a shapeshifting alien who nearly crash-lands his spaceship on top of him, let alone one who chooses to disguise himself as a man inspired by Jude’s wildest fantasies.

Al’s ship is damaged and unable to make the flight home, and when he earnestly asks Jude for a safe place to stay until help arrives, how can Jude say no?

Keeping his hands to himself until then shouldn’t be difficult… but Jude is only human, and there’s only so long anyone can resist a roommate disguised as the hottest person imaginable.

A roommate whose insatiable curiosity is piqued by Jude’s human body…

And who shares Jude's only bed.

Crash-Landed in Love is a hilarious paranormal romance set on modern-day Earth with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It contains a clueless alien who is quite good at pretending to be a human, a love that’s written in the stars, shapeshifting body parts, and enough steam you’ll start to worry that your spaceship is on fire.

Please note that while there are no ABO dynamics in this series… life finds a way.

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

Completely unexpected but I absolutely loved this!!

I've only read one MPreg book before and I didn't like it at all, so I was a little sceptical, but this was so good!

I laughed so much and Al's heartbreak made me cry. Jude was annoying, yet felt realistic too. Buttons was clearly amazing and I loved Ezra, he was a solid side character and so supportive. Corbin just irritated me though, he felt very shallow and I couldn't really see why they were friends.

Looking forward to the next book.

I actually ROB*L while reading this book.
*bed.

I half-way rolled at least once, maybe twice. Which is a lot. I don't have the fucking energy to be rotating about or whatnot.

Anyway. If you're looking for a serious intergalactic romance with world building and shit, exit left.

If you're in the mood for a hilarious, ridiculously fluffy, adorkable rom-com featuring fated mates, dicking down aplenty, mpreg (ooops!), insecurities, miscommunication alien style, shitty cars & even shittier spaceships, an erudite cat named Buttons, scary toasters, and stupid "English is stupid" jokes, don't move a muscle because this is the book for you.

Jude was becoming more convinced by the second that he’d made first contact with an alien dork.

I just love an alien struggling with human customs.

This was a blast. A funny and sweet alien romance, a ‘surprise, you’re pregnant!’ trope, a golden retriever dorky alien that really hates English and calendars but can speak cat, and a sweet human who thought he was going to be crushed by a spaceship but found his mate instead.

“Can I call you something else? Why not Al? It’ll be your human name, at least for now. Definitely not short for Alien. Psh, that would be lame.”

That’s it. That’s the book. A fun & easy love story with adorable characters, and I can’t wait to dive into the next installment.

“You’re mine, Jude, and I’m yours, for however long you wish me to be.” “It will never be long enough.”
“It could be forever if you let it.”

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

A very quick re-read on 19th July/25

I skimmed this book, read all the highlights and checked out the characters from the next installment to refresh my memory.

I'll give it full 3⭐ this time around, it is funny and I do like the potential, but I'm sticking with my previous review. It's not captivating enough for me. The main couple is good, though.

I really hope Titan gets a better story.

Original review on 12th May/24

2.75 - 3Not my favourite.

The book was way too long and included all the very unnecessary monologues and explanations where it could just focus on the main love couple.
I started fast-reading or even skipping some paragraphs about 50% in and I just don't find the story being that well developed.

🟡 Alien/human
🔵 Crash landing on Earth
🟢 Alien takes on a human form
🟣 Mpreg
🔵 True Mates (fated)
🟢 Good side characters
🌶️ A lot of sex, it's good, probably about the only really good thing in this book; sex in human and alien form; t/b

I think this story needs a more thorough developing in the next installment. There were so many things added that took attention away from Al and Jude, the main couple who meet when Al, the alien from the planet Darvrok 6, crashes his old spaceship in the desert near Albuquerque, USA.

Al takes on a human form and goes to live with Jude, a college student who's hiding him from supposed Men in Black who never show up. Nothing more is said about his crashed ship either.

They get down to it pretty quick, they have sex right away and just live together in Jude's apartment.
The sex was great, though. Really good. Loved it. They had good chemistry, good dirty talk and Al was pretty good at everything so that was what made me read the whole book.

“Fuck, I think I’m gonna come,” Jude panted. “You’re not even touching my cock and I’m gonna come, you’re a goddamn magician. Keep going. Keep going and don’t you dare pull out. Come inside me. Put it deep. I have never wanted to be creampied more in my goddamn life, and I am not going to let anything stop me.”

I had a bit of a problem with the storytelling, because a thing or two happened yet a month went by apparently, the timelines weren't pointed out specifically, I figured out later on how much time had actually passed, so everything took too long - contacting Al's planet and getting some development finally. It took Al more than 2 months to put together a device to call his family, which was weird, at best. No urgency.

In the mean time I have no idea how they afforded rent and food, they basically didn't work.

I thought they had good chemistry and were going to stick together but then Jude opted out of the relationship, then later on changed his mind and suddenly loved Al.
I don't know, I didn't feel it. Even when pregnant, Jude wanted to leave everything behind, so as much as I get that, it wasn't a good thing to add to the story.

The first contact with Al's parents was supposed to be hilarious but again, it should've been a bigger deal coming to Earth and finding your son having kids with someone from another species. I thought something major was about to happen, but nothing really did. Jude and Al stayed in the USA and got a servant and a mansion which I'm down for, but for an almost 400 page story this book should've been much more interesting than it was.

The side characters were very promising and I'd love to get their stories. Ezra, Jude's roommate, then Corbin, Ezra's ex, then Logan, Jude's brother and Titan, Al's brother, not to forget Kyle, the big muscled servant.

The next installment is Titan's, so I'm really wondering who's going to be his match. I kind of see Ezra for Kyle, but that probably won't happen.
Ezra is supposed to become a diplomat, so he'll probably be paired up with Titan.

This series is dealing with True Mates that are very rare for Darvrokians, so hopefully the next book isn't as long and ends the numerous explanations and jokes that were getting really old here and gives us a more clear-cut story of two guys falling in love.

Oh how I've missed reading Piper Scott. She's just so good at mpreg stories - and since good mpreg stories are so rare, it just makes Piper Scott stories all the better.

I adored Al and Jude together.

Jude is a college student, living with a roommate in a small, run down house with barely enough to get by, and has just recently broken up with his boyfriend who cheated on him.

He's down on his luck, and when that happens, he likes to go out in the desert (he lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico) and look at the stars. When he wishes for his life to change, he doesn't quite expect for it to change in the form of a literal alien crash landing not far from where he is and changing his life forever, for the better.

Al isn't his real name, but his real name is quite unpronounceable for poor Jude - or all humans, really - so Al is what Jude comes up with (short for Alien, get it 😉)

There's an instant connection - although quite literally for Al, who knows that he and Jude are True Mates the second they touch.

It's not quite like that for Jude, the human, but he does feel a connection nonetheless. He just doesn't know it's as monumental as True Mates.

When Al disguises himself as a human so no one else will know he's an alien - and take him to be experimented on by the government - he takes the form of a very beautiful man, and that night he and Jude have sex.

For Al, his species has telepathy powers, although Al's are considered "weak" among his kind. He only is able to be in Jude's head for a very little bit to be able to start to learn English, and really only has touch telepathy where he can sense emotions from the other person.

Because they have some miscommunication, quite literally, as Al is just learning English and he takes things Jude says in the heat of the moment as literal, so he thinks he knows that Jude knows his body is literally changing to accommodate being pregnant, and that he's accepting them being True Mates.

So while he and Jude get to know each other over the next two months, Jude is pregnant - with eggs - and doesn't even know it. But things he says here and there makes Al thinks he knows.

Al is the absolute sweetest, I loved him. He's just so kind and earnest and trying his best. The little ways he adapts to English are so cute, and how he deals with human things on Earth sometimes are so funny - like his fear of a toaster lol - as well as him actually learning to speak "cat" lol.

There is some drama near the middle-ish of this, when Jude finds out he's pregnant, and boy did it hurt! Poor Al was absolutely heartbroken and him crying made me want to cry. He's just a poor baby!

And yes, I understood Jude's side and his motivations - which is why I'm not taking any stars off for him being a jerk to poor bb Al, mmkay?! - but it didn't make it hurt any less, or make me want to hit him upside the head any less. Because a heartbroken Al is just not good. I just wanted to reach in and snuggle him.

Al's the kind of....well, being that should almost always be happy. He's just too sweet and kind not to be.

But eventually, about a month later, Jude comes around. It takes him some time, but he does. Right around the time he goes into labor and has the...uh, eggs.

So he's only pregnant for 3 months, then has the eggs, and then they wait a further amount of 2 or so months for the eggs to hatch.

Once he has the eggs, Jude is very protective of them and even nests with them, a natural instinct to him now.

Also, there are 7 of them, so...it's a good thing at the end when Al is able to get his own...i guess, stipend? As being one of the children of high government officials on his planet, because otherwise they would not be able to raise their 7 (!) children easily at all.

But it was so sweet how Jude loved all of them so much and thought to himself that he'd work as many dead end jobs as he'd need to provide for their children. But thankfully, he doesn't need to.

This whole book was just delightful. I loved Al and Jude and their chemistry just worked so well together. The sex was good too - both in Al's human form and natural form.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book about Al's brother. I wonderful if he's LI will be Ezra or Corbin, Jude's roommate and friends. Because it's gotta be one of them. Then there's Al's family's servant who comes to Earth to help out with their children, and I wonder if he will get a book too.

I'm excited to see! Can't wait for more! 🥰

For someone who came from a more developed planet AI seems to be oblivious of anything hell I woulda assume he comes from the past.
The conflict dragged on for too long that it ruined the book for me, especially the art class scene that was so unnecessary i had a visceral reaction when that happened and Corbin was such an asshole for that, he know nothing of the relationship to butt in like that.
I did cry at the hatching scene I think it was very cute, and their interaction between jude and AL overall but sometimes I couldn't help but find jude annoying he's thick in the head.

College student earthling Jude meets —oh god, an actual alien— Ξ.A.kr’ξ𝞹’p from Darvrok 6. (This alien race is adorable and hilarious btw)

“I wish,” he muttered to himself, “for a new fucking life.”

Ξ.A.kr’ξ𝞹’p f learns to speaks English by some telepathic mind meld. He realises he is making first contact and is probably going to get an intergalactic citation.

Jude renames Ξ.A.kr’ξ𝞹’p f , Al as he’s literally incapable of pronouncing the alien name.

Al shakes Jude’s hand and then Bam! Tsunami of emotions from Jude.

‘What he’d just experienced fit the description of the connection his elders said occurred between True Mates, and those were rare—very rare.‘

Al shape shifts into a human male, basically a Greek god version.

‘It was like he had taken what he’d seen on the covers of the romance novels and chosen the best attributes of each to make the hottest man that Jude had ever seen in his entire goddamn life.’

What a fun ride ahead. These two are an absolute delight to read 🥰

Happily ever after guaranteed

“I love you,” Jude said, because he could think of nothing else that could portray the gravity of his appreciation.

“These are still my favorite words, and I feel hope you recognize my sincerity when I say I love you, too.”

This was FANTASTIC AND SO SWEET and I cannot wait for the sequel😭

WHAT I LIKED
Everything. What else am I supposed to say? This is a light-hearted, humorous book about two big softies (though only one of them is literally big) with a great supporting cast and a beautifully simple plot. Read this when you need to unwind or need a boost, I promise it won’t disappoint!

Audiobook review: 5 stars
Michael Ferraiuolo was fabulous and the production quality was absolutely fantastic💯 I would highly recommend reading this book with the audio.

Expect
- Mpreg
- Forced proximity
- Mating and bonding
- Shifted sex

Reread just months later after DNFing Bred by the Alien Prince – thanks for this delightful book. I’m so looking forward to more!

Original review
I loved this so much I don't really have anything to say.
If you loved Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly's Forbidden Desires series and love
- an adorable Alien (named Al, definitely not short for Alien)
- a human cis man turning pregnant without understanding and the Alien believes he's understanding
- an Alien who loves getting annoyed by human time telling and other random measurements
- Caretaking
- Just utter adorableness
- fated mates over galaxies
- a rollercoaster of feels
then this has to be next on your TBR :D
and aah I can't wait for book 2 and to re-read this!

Not even sharing quotes because I highlighted too much.

NSFW infos:
- alien MC who gets stranded on earth
- human MC, gay and out
- Alien can impregnate his fated mate
- breeding
- mpreg
- strict top/bottom dynamic
- sex in alien form and human disguise

I was really enjoying it. I thought all the characters were soooooo funny. But this book was just too long for me. The page count isn’t super long, but the book was moving too slow so it seemed so much longer. I had to stop reading to read something else, and I haven’t felt the urge to pick the book back up. I may someday!!! But not today.

My favorite conflicts in this.
1. Al vs English
2. Al vs Daylight Savings Time
3. Al vs Toasters
4. Al vs Emails
5. Al vs Jude's Bad Car
6. Al vs What The Rest of Us Have Been Telling Americans is a Ridiculous metric system

My worst conflict (I do not feel enjoyment about this, Jude)

Jude acting like Al coerced him into pregnancy. More on this shortly.

Taking it from the top. Human Jude meets Alien Al and takes him home to keep him safe from the government. His life unravels from there.

Al doesn't hear himself because he keeps wondering why Jude lives in fear that Al would say something weird. Like..... My good man, EVERYTHING you say is weird.

"Thank you very much, please, Dude."

Because he thinks Dude is a formal title like 'Sir/Madam'

Literally a few minutes after being made to recite his cover story a bajillion times....

Al tells Ezra that his car broke down while he was driving to Alberquerque from GREECE😂

Oh and he kept saying he's from Athens, Greece, Europe, Earth because you have to say the whole address or else it doesn't make sense💀

How does this same man introduce himself to Jude's parents?

"Hello. My name is Al Leon and I am a homosexual from Greece."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This is the guy who doesn't understand why Jude thinks he'll say something 'weird'?!

"My car broke down while I was driving on land and that is how I became acquainted with Jude. We are now mating. I am doing engineering at this school."

💀Way to incorporate ALL the information available. Surely there can be no follow up questions. SURELY.

Back to the pregnancy thing.

At the risk of sounding like a radical, I don't feel sorry for Jude's alarm at being pregnant 😂

LIKE WHAT DID YOU EXPECT? YOU SAT ON ALIEN DICK LESS THAN 24 HOURS FROM FIRST CONTACT AND NOW YOU'RE DOING A SHOCKED PIKACHU FACE THAT THERE ARE UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES.

Like - no kidding. This is why you DON'T FUCK ALIENS😂😂😂😂😂😂

Okay, fuck them, but maybe like have a conversation first. I swear the fact that he met Al in his actual Darvrokian form means he knew things were different enough.

Maybe before you fuck, ask yourself, is there anything I need to consider?

Sorry but you don't get to fuck an alien then act like being pregnant is the wildest thing you've done this year.

Whole time he was on some 'fertilize me' riddim.

Now he's saying he didn't consent to this. No KIDDING. You made the request, nay, DEMAND. Al merely obliged. He's the one that consented.

I'm absolutely victim blaming on this one, sorry.

The crash out was delightful to read though.

The fact that his first post-acceptance stage question was, "Will people notice?"

Like ooooooh. So NOW you realize you've been doing things you don't want the public to find out about?

Alien fucking was just fine and dandy but God FORBID people find out 😂😂😂😂😂

How on earth do you even hide that MANY children? Sure, maaaaaaybe you can hide a 3 month pregnancy. SEVEN kids? Not a chance in hell, dude.

People are absolutely going to know about the secret BAREBACK alien fucking.

So I get that he freaks out, but I REALLY hated that he made Al out to be this weirdo that's galaxy hopping and impregnating men on the sly.

Asking the man you dumped the previous night and basically told to fuck off to another planet with y'alls babies to cuddle with you is actually diabolical behavior.

Never before seen levels of unhinged.

Okay so y'all know how I hate MCs who make the other hide the relationship?

Yeah, this is the one time I ABSOLUTELY understood it. Hated it. For Al. Understood it. For Jude. What have we learnt today, kids?

Do not fuck the aliens. Things only get weirder from there.

Because you'll be sat there, dumbfounded, while your sexy alien tells you that you could be carrying between 3-36 eggs. Oh, and how he believes you'll 'do excellent' at birthing them.

Which is sweet and all, but also.......between 3-36.

So. Before you fuck an alien, think really long and hard about your pushing capacity.

FYI? Jude had 7. So there are no beginner discounts.

I think I enjoyed book 2 more than this one, even though this one has a lot more romance. These aliens are incredibly sweet, hey. Especially in this one. I felt so sad for Al.

Finding your true mate, falling in love, getting him pregnant, only for him to say absolutely THE FUCK not, once I have these eggs you all have GOT to go, I can't do this? Brutal.

How Al was (in general and with Jude) after this solidified him as my darling. I was side eyeing Jude A LOT.

Way to act without thinking then blame everyone else.

Upon reflection(and finding out Al comes from money), I have also come to the realization that maybe I, too, would fuck an alien for a stipend of $13.7m annually.

I will not be taking questions at this time.

4.5 stars. Silly, funny, super fun mpreg story of an alien crash landing on Earth with antics galore. The speech pattern of an alien learning English was grating at first, but it very quickly settled into a super entertaining and charming part of the character. The Earth bashing humor is top notch, I huff-laughed and chuff-laughed through the whole book. The book doesn’t take itself seriously and is an absolute gem, low angst, low drama.

Really enjoyable if you like OTT situations and clever word play. Some of the lower-star reviews are for the mpreg aspect of the story, which is actually quite common in m/m sci-fi, so I’m not sure why so many people seemed surprised by it. Also, I saw lots of folks calling this an omegaverse book, but it’s not omega-verse since there is no alpha/omega dynamic, it’s just mpreg. I guess people are getting all of that confused. Anyway, great book, well written, fun!

Mpreg, fated mates, alien, earthling, sci-fi, Earth, sanitizer on hot dogs, HEA.

This was precious! Al is an angel. He’s so sweet and positive and trusting. He’s hilarious and kind. He’s always been seen as an outcast in his family (which I wish we’d heard about or explored a little earlier in the story), but he’s brave and intelligent and strong. Jude is hilarious, too. He’s kind even though he’s also stubborn as hell. He also struggles to fit in with his family (which makes sense because his family is awful) and I love that they can relate in that way. Jude is definitely easy going, too.

I adore the meet cute. I adore Al learning English and making it better. And I adore these two falling for each other. Everything Al says or thinks is delightful. The spice is spicy. And the plot is just plotty enough to keep my interest without losing me. My main downfall here is the length. I think a lot of the middle wasn’t quite necessary. I felt kind of bored for a minute, but then Al’s antics or calendar rants would pull me back in.

I loved the cultural differences and the mpreg. That was fun! Overall, the ending felt fairly easy to wrap up, which I don’t know how I totally feel about, but the entire book was just a bit too unbelievable in itself that I was okay with it. It was a really really fun ride.

Notes: 2/5 spice levels, alien/human, mpreg, cultural differences, language barrier, roommates, college

Oh my goodness, if you want a hilariously funny and incredibly unique read, Crash-Landed in Love NEEDS to be on your TBR. It's the story of a stranded alien and the lonely guy who finds him, gives him a place to stay, and eventually falls for him. There's a LOT of (very funny) language difference, fated mates vibes, AND you get my new favorite thing - EGGPREG (DM for details my friends). It's a quick, low angst read, perfect escapism, and I absolutely cannot wait to read the second book. Highly recommend checking this one out!

OMG I LOVE AL SO MUCH. The poor, sweet alien has been told he's a disappointment his entire life, so when he starts catching feelings for his new friend and temporary roommate Jude, he's very worried when they aren't returned. And Jude is trying so hard not to do the same so he won't be devastated when Al goes back to his own planet. Despite all of the pining and (understandable and sometimes hilarious) miscommunication, they really are good together, and I loved their chemistry and banter.

When I say this book is funny and low angst, I mean I was either laughing out loud or smiling to myself the entire time I read it. Al's constant diatribes on how ridiculous English and measurement of time are had me ROLLING, and I loved reading about his confusion over various Earth foods. AND Y'ALL - why do I love eggpreg so much? It's wild, it's weird, and I LOVE a good nesting scene. It's worth reading this entire book just for that (and it's definitely why I picked it up).

An alien crash lands on earth and the first human he meets is an artsy college kid named Jude. Al, the alien, is probably one of the cutest and funniest characters I’ve read about so far this year! His misunderstandings about earth and human activity are so endearing and hilarious. Obviously, Al and Jude hit it off extremely well. They have some sort of faded mates bond going on, and they end up having a cute alien family together.

In this book you’ll find:
Insta love, alien/human relationship, an endearing alien with a sexy human disguise, so many hilarious misunderstandings, alien egg babies, and a very happy happily ever after.

The themes in this are a little wild for me, but Al the alien was so cute and the writing was so funny that I enjoyed it a lot anyways!

Hey so this was great! It was funny as hell with just enough angst to make me give a damn. AND this is one of the few couples in books that I would adore seeing more books about, though it's clear they set up a series for another alien/human couple to.. couple.

Lots of laughs from misunderstandings, some family drama and personal freakouts (like, every human man would lose his mind discovering he's accidentally pregnant.. as if this hasn't happened to most women at some point, so, relatable)...

Loved the characters, plot and epilogue. Obviously these authors work very well together and I hope we get more audiobooks with Michael Ferraiulo!

This was so cute, with a little bit of angst there in the middle. Not too much, but enough to get me in the feels. I've read both the ebook, and now the audio, and I enjoyed Michael Ferraiuolo's take on bringing Jude and Al to life. It was kind of fun to hear his take on some Darvrokian words too.

The miscommunication between human Jude and alien Al caused the majority of the minor angst in this story. I don't know if I wouldn't have reacted a bit crazy if I found out I was pregnant with an alien's offspring and I'm not even male! I did get a little miffed with him though for a bit because after his initial reaction, he should have realized that based on what he knew of Al, this wouldn't have been something he would have done against Jude's will. In fact, all Al has ever done was whatever he could to make Jude happy and I was happy when Jude finally realized that.

Al was so precious and I wanted to give him the biggest hug. I adored his ranting about human technology and their earthly calendar. He may have been a sweetheart, but he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. I also thought it was cute how he would speak with the cat, even though no one believed he was really doing so.

The ebook for this came back out in December 2023 and I haven't heard any updates on book 2, even though we were teased at the end about a certain family member of Al's on their way to Earth. I'm wondering if he is going to end up with Corbin or Ezra. Maybe even Jude's closeted brother. Either way, I do hope that we will get more from this series soon because I really did love it!

Happy festivus, you know what time it is

How do I explain this? This book has a lot of things I love and want, especially when it comes to mpreg, but lliikkke.... To say it's not good feels particularly mean, especially since I like Pipper Scott, but hopefully, as I get into it, you'll see what I mean.

So, I love mpreg. Alien eggpreg with a side of faded mates, even better. Add in a birth scene and some nesting, beam me up, Scotty, my body is ready! What I didn't love was how long it took them to get together. Even with a fish-out-of-water character, they usually accept that they are fated and get together before the birth. These two didn't get together until almost the very end. We didn't even really get to enjoy them in love and it left me feeling unfulfilled.

Number two, because I'm numbering these now, I wasn't the biggest fan of the smut. I know, but hear me out. The first scene was fine. The last one was grade A+++. The rest? Eh. Listen, I love me some pregnancy smut (I sound so unhinged right now), but it wasn't hot. The descriptions weren't enough for me, and the dirty talk didn't stick the landing. I was in a lukewarm bath when I wanted to be in a too-hot hot tub. But the scene with Al in his true form at the end, dear Lord I don't believe in, we are not worthy! That should have been all the smut. If I'm reading an alien romance, I want aliens doing it in their alien form. I'm a freak, I'm not sorry.

Number three, side characters. Love 'em, especially Ezra. If this series ever continues, I truly hope he gets a book because he deserves one. Then again, maybe I don't because Al's brother was teased ar the end and I do NOT want him with sweet, perfect Ezra. Corbin? Listen, I liked Corbin, which is saying something because his type of character usually gets really annoying, really fast for me. That being said, he did eventually get really annoying, especially when Jade went into labor. I think it was supposed to be funny, but it just wasn't. I mean, what do you do when your friend is in distress? Do you A, drop everything and help them? Or B, act super sassy and start playing 20 questions while they are in pain and begging you to take them home? My point is, Corbin isn't the one you call when need to hide a body. Ezra is. So is Buttons. She's not a narc. In fact...

Point number 3.5, Buttons. I demand more Buttons! That is all.

Moving on to number four, the humor. This book is genuinely hilarious. Anytime Al was communicating with Buttons had me rolling. But at the same time, there were almost too many jokes, you know? Even by rom-com standards, this book is jam-packed full of jokes, and as such, only about 35% of them land. The rest, at best, are innocuous, and at worst, take away from the more emotional moments. I understand these are emotionally unintelligent college students, and I am a full-grown adult, but the constant quips and sarcasm were a bit much.

All right, I've put it off long enough. *Sigh* Point number five, Jude. You're either going to love him and resonate with him, or you're going to be super annoyed at his emotional immaturity. Guess which group I fall into. I don't think this was intentional, but his constant sarcasm and inability to take anything seriously made him really unpleasant to read about. I'm not saying these are direct flaws or that he's not allowed to act like a 19/20-year-old whose world has been thrown off its axis, but the way Al describes him, we didn't see. Al is described as sweet and kind and intelligent, and we see that. We see how and why Jude fell for him. The opposite can not be said.

But that's not even my biggest issue with him. What truly made me hate him was how he treated Al. I understand freaking out about the situation but he was downright cruel. He even saw how his cruelty was breaking Al, and instead of pulling back or trying to rectify the situation with the person he's been calling boyfriend for 2 months, he doubles down and lies! Gives him a cold shoulder, plays with his feelings, and is just so unfair to Al. And I'm supposed to want to see him with sweet, perfect little angel baby Al? No! You got one thing right, Jude, you're not enough for him, and Al deserves better. Yes, he had his moments, but so did Xander, and I still hated him for seven seasons.

Point number six(?), the kiddos. The hatching scene was so cute and everything my eggpreg heart adores. The kids are adorable. I loved how Buttons was their babysitter. And then f*cking Jude had to go and give them human names. Do I really need to explain why I hated this so much?! Why? I asked again, f*cking why!? This is an alien book. Your children are aliens. Your mate is an alien. Just because you're a white man doesn't mean you need to colonize everything! Smh.

Finally, number seven, the ending. Spoiler alert, but they should have left Earth, I'm not sorry. I like it when alien books end up on the alien planet, I like seeing the alien planet. We didn't even get that. It's the shifter rule. If you say someone's a shifter, I want to see them shift. If you say someone's an alien, you want to see their homeworld. To not add that makes you feel kind of cheated. Besides, why would you want to stay on Earth? It sucks down here! And now you're going to condemn your fated mate and your kids to this hellhole? You're right, you're an awful father.

Also, I'm not saying 13 million a year isn't an insane amount of money, but they do have seven kids. Kids aren't cheap. That's why millennials don't have them. Plus, eventually, these kids are going to have to go to school. Are they going to pay for private tutors or send them to kindergarten? How will they learn their abilities and hone their skills if they're still on Earth? These are the questions no one is asking, but I have.

I realize it sounds like I disliked this book, and I did. But I also enjoyed it at points. I loved how imaginative it was and, for the most part, it was very cute. Al is truly the star of the show. He was cute and sweet and funny and just perfect. I'm not super looking forward to his brother, but I love Ezra, and something tells me that's who he's going to end up with. Needless to say, I would continue this series (contingent on them going off planet), but I have no idea if this series will continue since this book came out well over a year ago. It's not unheard of for authors to abandon series if they don't do super well, but with the release of the audiobook, I'm really hoping that's not the case. Only time will tell. Anyways, 3.5 stars but I'm rounding down because choosing to stay on earth? You're asking me to suspend my disbelief way too much.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.5 stars

Crash-Landed in Love is the first book in the He’s Out of This World series by authors Piper Scott and Renee Fox. This story is set in contemporary Albuquerque, New Mexico, and explores interspecies romance between a human college student and a fun-loving alien. Despite their obvious differences, the two discover they actually have a lot in common. And rather than space exploits and sci-fi intrigue, the budding connection between Jude and Al–with all its oscillations–is at the heart of the story.

Overall, if you’re looking for a sexy fell-in-love-with-an-alien story that also offers emotional depth, I think you’d love this book.

This book was absolutely hilarious! Al crash lands on Earth and happens to meet Jude in the middle of nowhere. He gets a crash course in all things human while he makes a device to phone home intergalactically. Against all odds, Jude is his True Mate, chaos ensues (with a happy ending).

I loved how Al had a comment or diatribe on EVERYTHING and he’s literally only saying what we are all thinking! Yes, the English language is stupid. Correct, the way we tell time is dumb (and his panic spiral over daylight savings omg lol). Don’t even get me started on the metric system, I’m totally with ya there Al! He was unintentionally hilarious and perfect and I loved him. This also has a great cast of side characters, especially Buttons!

The miscommunication trope is not my favorite, but it is what it is. We see Al grow into his own a bit here and I actually really loved that (I was on Al’s side 🤷🏼‍♀️).

I am very excited to see where this series goes, looks like Al’s brother is coming in hot and I would love if Corbin is the one to give him a run for his money!

Thank you to GRR for providing an earc in exchange for a review.

This book was so freaking fun. We follow Jude who is a young art student, which isn't having a great time at life right now, and Al, the charming alien that literally almost crashed right on top of him. An intergalactic meet-cute.

The plot is meh. I have less than favorable opinions about the miscommunication trope. While this isn't the worst I have read, I wasn't a big fan.

However, the real MVP's of this book anyway are the characters. Al was the most adorable dorky alien I have ever read. His running commentary on everything human was not only kinda relatable but hilariously accurate. Jude is going through some shit and is a totally relatable character. I loved all the side characters as well and can't wait to read more.

Overall a very successful first installment of what will be a very fun series.

No one does Mpreg like Piper Scott! This was great, got a little angsty in the middle there, but it was hilarious and fun otherwise. Michael Ferraiuolo killed it with the narration for this, as usual.

3.5 out of 5. Jude is a walking annoyance, but I guess that’s the point. The alien Al 👽 saves the day with some funny moments, and the story itself is pretty sweet. An omega-verse with an unusual twist and a bit of outer space vibe. Not perfect, but definitely readable. 🛸🛸🛸
