After the night of her Claiming, Gemma learned the hard way that she can’t outrun who she is—or the magic that wants her. Then, in a cruel twist of fate, her entire world collapses, leaving her to pick up the pieces of the life she no longer recognizes and the memories she wishes she could forget. Now there’s only one thing left for her to believe in: Ollie. Not magic, not fate. Not even herself.
Thrown into this chaotic world of mystery and wonder, Ollie is desperate for something to hold on to. As he grapples with his choices and the consequences that always follow, he struggles to untangle the legend of the Claimed and mend what’s been broken before time runs out. In his search for answers, there’s only one thing he knows for sure: he belongs with Gemma, and he’ll do anything to make that dream his reality.
In this gripping conclusion to A Tangle of Dreams, Gemma, Ollie, and Milo must discover the true meaning behind their magic and the power that can only be found on the journey back home.
Writing this book cracked me open and filled me up again in the best possible way.
This is a story about loss and grief and finding your way back home. It’s about endings and beginnings and the beautifully messy middle. Every page is bursting with magic. You’ll feel each description and line of dialogue deep in your bones—it’s my best writing yet.
I’m proud of the pacing and the tension; I’m proud of its humor and heart. But it’s the character growth that truly steals the show. You won’t be forgetting Gemma and Ollie (or Milo!) any time soon.
And that ending? I don’t think you could find a more satisfying one.
I love this book more than all the stars in the sky, but I’ll give it 5/5 just to keep things simple.
To Gemma and Ollie and every memory we’ve shared. These stars belong to you.
SUCH a good book. It was such a special story and had such a heartwarming ending. The story was so well told and I felt like I was physically part of it all. Such a magical story! A must read for sure!
This book is magic. All of Nicole’s books are, but this one blew me away. I loved everything about. First of all, the magic system is phenomenal. It was in ATOD too, but I loved the way the secrets unfolded, revealing each new layer of the magic. Everything about it, each new layer, was breathtaking and beautiful and crazy and wonderful. But my favorite part of this book is the characters. Their growth was amazing. I loved seeing how Gemma and Ollie and Milo changed after the events of book one, but also how they changed and grew up over this book. And the ending— amazing. This book is amazing, and I will miss reading about these characters and sitting at the edge of my seat, waiting to see what aspect of the magic will be uncovered next or if Ollie will ever make it home.
sequel is finished yayyy. this was a big book 500 something pages so it took me a little while to get through. i had really high expectations for this book because i loved loved loved the first one and it was my favorite book when i was younger and i am a little disappointed because it wasn’t exactly how i thought it was gonna be. i was super bored for most of the book i’m not even gonna lie. ollie is my favorite character i love him so much and he was like gone the whole book and all his chapters were so boring because it was all just about the history of magic like it was cool at first but like that was the whole book. and i was lost a lot of the time like it was so hard to keep up with everything and this book almost put me in a reading slump. i will say that the story in these books is a very unique concept about magic and memories. there were some parts that i did really love so that’s why i’m giving it 3.5 stars. i was expecting a lot more from the sequel but there were still some really wholesome parts that were very well written. and i love all the scenes with ollie and gemma they’re so cutesy. “doesn’t she know that all i can think of is her? doesn’t she know she’s the memory i never want to escape? she’s both my daydream and reality—a juxtaposition i want to spend my whole life untangling.” oliver cade you are adorable.
I loved this entire adventure. I was hooked to the characters from the first chapter of book 1; “A tangle of Dreams” and this book took me even deeper into the elemental magic and its origin. It is beautifully written and I had a hard time putting it down. The journey for these characters was relatable and I found a little of myself in both Gemma and Ollie. It was delighted to be along for the ride…through disappointment, heartbreak, young love and discovery! It’s a story that clings to your heart. Definitely worth the read…even more than once!
Nicole’s writing is so beautiful and I especially love her characters! She does a great job building off her first book A Tangle of Dreams and beautifully ties it all together. I highly recommend you read this is you appreciate beautiful sentences, clever dialogue, multiple narrators, romance, mystery, magic, and characters that feel like good friends.

Wow. This was a JOURNEY. Loved it! Nicole has a way of writing so poetically and sucking you in with her imagery and inspiring thoughts. It's a story of growth and dealing with loss. There is just so much to take in and in so much detail. This series is so special and worth a read for sure!
