Everyone needs a little magic in their lives, and Emily Spencer is no exception. A frail nine-year-old girl with a big heart comes to visit her grandfather’s East Texas ranch with her mother to find he cares for a few more creatures than the horses and cats in his barn. It's Emily's first time to ride trail and soon discovers the wonderful world that exists on the ranch. Little does she know that a world of adventure awaits her when she grows older in a land few humans have seen.

“A Little Bit of Magic” is a 2,300-word Fantasy short story and first chapter excerpt of “Alter World: Emily’s Unicorn” that introduces Emily’s adventures in the Alter World. Written for Middle Grade and Young Adults, this story is an easy read for general audiences of all ages.

Robert is an independent author who specializes in writing a combination of sci-fi, fantasy and alternative history that blends myths, legends and stories from the past to create new worlds with never before thought possibilities.

One of his screenplays, "The Pantera Grail - Genesis," made it to the quarterfinals in The 2009 StoryPros screenwriting contest and "Pantera - Grail Quest" made it to the 2010 quarterfinals.
