J. T. FINN hails from the greater Boston area. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from MIT. After graduation, he moved to Silicon Valley to begin his career as a software engineer, developing AI and database applications.
He founded his first company in the mid-nineties and worked as an executive at several startups, taking them from early stage through IPO or acquisition, along with his share of spectacular flame-outs during the dot-com bust. He spent nine years as Head of Business Development for Google's Search Ads business, during which annual sales skyrocketed from $6B to $60B.
Outside of work J. T. is passionate about biking, skiing, cooking, and traveling with his family. He has run the Boston Marathon and completed several Ironman 70.3 triathlons. The COVID-19 pandemic reignited his creativity, and he channeled his effort into writing a series of thrillers inspired by real-life experiences.
Tyler is a true friend, 2illing to go the extra mile for his friend Hank. Who would think that they would get caught up in the debacle unfolding. MIT students, student loans, jobs, girls. Those are the norms of navigating higher education. But when one Sunday dinner turns into a deep dive into nefarious happenings. All Tyler wants to do is help Yaya and Hank for all the help, memories and filled bellies that they have provided him. The Deltas are a true brotherhood and after getting all tied up with The Mob, Tyler turns to the unexpected assistance of his brotherhood.
It would be a great thing to see where Tyler story unfolds after school. We get a brief taste at the end of our reading but the Author definitely leaves an opening to look for the rest of his story after MIT.
Very well written story with a lot of Cantabrigian color — although more central than Harvard square! The ending was anything but expected. I’m sure Sara was really impressed!
A thoroughly enjoyable, thought provoking read! Fast paced and full of action, one man discovers you don't have to stand alone against the world. Devoured it!
J.T. Finn’s book, Do or Die is an exciting ride that keeps you engaged and makes it difficult to put down. The setting of MIT for the main characters, Tyler and Hank, makes it more interesting. Their exhilarating experiences are written in a captivating way that builds excitement for what’s around the next corner. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more from this author.
Gostei.
Action packed and realistic. I was worried about the fate of Tyler and Hank, 2 MIT students caught up in the tangle of mess when they were just trying to take care of Hank’s sweet grandmother. I love a story where intelligence wins over brute force. A must read.
