Rosalynn
I've saved up for years to get my ticket and myself to the Alien Bride Race office on the lunar spaceport. Working retail for life and having no one to come home to except the stray cats in the alley has never been a dream come true. I've heard stories about ABR and how wild and territorial the alien males can get over the contestants. Just once, I want someone to need me.

I'm tired of being just a body to stand at the counter with a fake smile and pretend I am obsessed with every single perfume we sell. For too long, I have waited for the thrill of running with the other women, pretending to be scared. Inside, I'm excited to meet whoever catches me.

The males race around me, chasing other, faster women. I wonder if they don't find me a challenge and if I should've taken better care of myself or tried to scrub more of the perfume from my permeated skin. Males pass me, returning with other women in their arms who laugh and smile like I want to. I trip on a root and fall. A warm hand helps me up.

To my dismay, the sexy alien hunk already has a woman over his shoulder. He's built like a prime warrior and dressed in armor that bears the sigils of a kingdom I've not heard of. He's royalty. I'm a nobody. Yet in his gold eyes is a hint of regret as he leaves me behind to cart his woman off with the other males.

Soon, there is no one left but me. They've all gone inside the alien starship to begin the festivities. A woman from ABR hands me a credit chip for a million bucks and gives me her congrats. I thought for sure being slower would get me caught, and only the fastest won the money. I never thought I would win. This was never my goal.

The alien prince who passed me now watches from the open doorway of the starship. His stare stirs desire in me as I walk to the private transport that will return me to the spaceport. But he didn't choose me. He chose her.

I can start over and have almost anything I want...except the only thing I longed for most. But my new life doesn't start off quite as easy as I expect. There are a lot of others who want to get their hands on my new prize money. Now, I'm stuck in the race to protect my life.

Zinnar
My selected mate seems to have more interest in a Ginarigon who often picks females open to sisterhood. I am a wreck inside at her rejection. But I want to love and mate with one female. Clearly, I chose incorrectly.

I was not supposed to return home to my family's kingdom mateless. They will scold me for letting her go despite that she is undoubtedly happier elsewhere. I don't believe in forced marriages. I want someone who wants me, needs me like I need her.

Stepping outside of the party to get some air, I notice the woman in the field, among the trees and bushes, in silent tears as she walks toward the transport that will take her home. There is a special strength in her, a quiet pain of loneliness but conviction from her acceptance. She keeps going even though she scraped her knees in her earlier tumble. It's something I understand--making sacrifices for my kingdom.

I want to talk to her, though I don't know if she'll be interested now that she has the money. But by the time I make my decision, she's already taking off. When she glances at me from the window, I know I have to get to her before I lose her forever. At least we could give it a chance.

The race might be over, but my hunt for her has just begun. If she won't have me, I'll have to make her an offer she can't refuse. I'm not going home empty-handed.

A steamy scifi alien romance, featuring violence and cursing.

- best thing about this one is that it was a freebie

- interesting world, I should have probably tried to read the first two books, for more background on what happens in this world, but I managed to not be confused; I might go back and read the previous books since I already have them, and the synopsis looks good 👀

- too many unwanted details.. I mean the names for the perfumes, etc. etc., I was bored out of my mind until the hunt started 🤪😂

- he is some sort of a prince alien, etc., while she assumes she's human, but she doesn't know who her father is, and she might have alien blood in her as well

- anyhoo, for a prince, he took quite stupid decisions, hence the first rejection; I needed him to be more alpha! Like "oh, she's definitely my mate, I want her, gimme gimme, fuck what my father and society bla bla bla thinks 🤣🤣🤣", sadly, he rejected her, then he got rejected by some other girl and he finally realised that he should have listened to his first instinct!!!

- he tried to make up for his mistake, to grovel, hence their pact; it was meh, wanted more groveling, and less excuses for his stupid decision

- some spice, some dangerous situations (I was rolling my eyes, actually, at some of these situations😂), HEA (no V, no OP drama)

Fated Mates.

This was a nice change of pace for a few hours, and I genuinely enjoyed it.

The Pact is the third book in the Alien Bride Race, where young women are treated badly. They escape with the hope of being free and finding someone to love

Beneath their tough exterior lies a big-hearted man who would do anything to keep her safe.

Excellent!

Rosalynn has scrimped and saved to buy an entry into the Alien Bride Race. There is nothing left for her on earth. She just wants to find someone who will want her and become a family. But once again she has set herself up for failure. Many of the women who go to the Alien Bride Race really want to be the last female standing so they can get the million credits. Not Rosalynn, but that is what happens.

Prince Zinnar wants only to fight with his warriors to protect his planet. But the King has decided it is time he take a mate and start producing heirs. Zinnar is furious, but he must obey. If he must take a mate, it doesn’t matter which female he ends up with. So, when a female throws herself at him towards the end of the race, he goes with it. But as they are walking out, he sees Rosalynn has fallen and goes over to help her up. Once he touches her, he knows she is his mate, but he must do the honorable thing and stay with the female he chose. But when the female rejects him, he realizes he can choose Rosalynn, but by then she has collected her million credits and left. He must go after her and convince her to give him a chance.

When Zinnar finds Rosalynn and asks her to be his mate, she doesn’t believe him. He rejected her once, what’s to keep it from happening again? But Zinnar is so desperate, he makes a pact with her. If she will pretend to be with him for the rest of the week so his father thinks he has chosen a mate, he will give her the million credits she had to give back to get back into the race, and pay for the rest of her college she was forced to quit because she couldn’t afford the tuition any longer. He is hoping by the end of the week she will agree to extend the pact and go home to his planet with him.

Just when Zinnar thinks he is making progress with Rosalynn his planet is attacked and his father is missing. He has no choice but to leave and go home. He loves her enough that he is willing to give her up to keep her safe. He releases her from their pact. But is that what Rosalynn really wants?

4.25 stars. Rosalynn, the female human lead, has saved her money to be able to afford her entry into the bride race. Unlike many competitors, she doesn’t want to “win” and get the money prize; she actually wants a mate!

Zinnar, the male alien prince lead, was raised outside the castle, separated from his father after his mother’s death, and would greatly prefer to be a soldier rather crown heir. When his father requires he acquire a bride, he enters the race because an arranged marriage to someone he loathes would be even less enjoyable.

Unfortunately, by the time Zinnar finds Rosalynn, he’s already carrying another female. It would be rude to abandon her but Rosalynn has felt rejected all her life and Zinnar only has a short period of time to find her before she leaves, especially since someone is trying to abduct her! Once he rescues her, Zinnar convinces her to enter an arrangement with him, desperate to have her stay, only to find she believes he doesn’t really want her…

This novella is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, action adventure, sci fi, alien/human romance. I enjoyed Zinnar’s persistent pursuit of Rosalynn, as well as his personal ethics and his self-sacrificing perspective. I enjoyed Rosalynn’s self-worth, that, though she felt rejected, she was willing to step away from a bad scenario and try something else. I enjoyed her initiative and her intelligence. I enjoyed the banter between characters. I enjoyed the building relationship and empathised with both characters’ uncertainty over the other’s feelings. I enjoyed the resolution for both characters.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Rosalynn has been toiling away at a dead end, poorly paying perfume counter job with her best friend Aryssa. She’s managed to scrape together just enough credits to enter the Alien Bride Race in hopes of finding a true love and partnership. When she finds herself the last unmatched participant, she’s devastated and can’t stop thinking about the half human alien prince who despite carrying another participant helped her up after she stumbled during the race.

Reluctant to accept his role as future king of his home planet, Zinnar is more content as a formidable soldier, but has agreed to participate in the Alien Bride Race to appease his father. When he’s thrown over by the original female participant he initially chose, he can’t stop thinking about the earthling he felt drawn to as he reached out to help her to her feet. When he spots her trying to flee from the clutches of cloaked beings trying to steal her earnings, he jumps into the fray and persuades her to act as if they are partners for long enough to convince his father that he’s settled down.

Of course, their deception becomes all too real, and Zinnar’s focus then becomes convincing Rosalynn that his feelings for her are true.

This was another wonderful novella in the Alien Bride Race series. Sybur Phyre’s world building is well done and the steamy scenes are scorching, although I would’ve liked to have seen more of them. In any case, they were contextually relevant and the progression of the MCs regard for each other felt natural.

I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m sharing my honest impressions.

Roselyn and Zinnar's story is awesome; both from different worlds but just a touch and Zinnar knew she was his mate. Initially he did not want to enter the Alien Bride Race but to please his father he went to claim a woman. Roselyn on the other hand had dropped out of college because she could not afford the fees and worked as a perfume assistant in a store. She hates her life and saved her money to be able to enter the Alien Bride Race to find a mate.

She does not get a mate but wins the prize money; then a situation evolves, and a Pact is made. But will the Pact hold true, or will emotions and true feelings emerge?

This is an excellent story, well written and plenty of action. It can be read as a standalone, but probably best to read in sequence to follow the underlying adventure. I like the way that the characters build on their relationship rather than the usual insta-love that you get in most other author's books.

I received an ARC copy from the author and voluntarily leave this honest review.

Sybur Phyre has done it again in the third alien brides race series called The Pact. Rosa is a perfume sales gal in the mall and is looking forward to having a husband. Only problem is that she’s left as the only gal at the end, despite a male’s having helped her on the field. Sinner had been picked by a woman and doesn’t know how to rid himself of her. Then she dumps him and he knows he must find Rosa, whose million credit win has the Shadowcloakers after her. Sinner and Rosa make pact that she will be his fake bride. He hates the pact as he really wants her as his bride, but she’s wary. I love this series! It’s always filled with action, adventure, and spice!

Sometimes the best romances have characters who fight themselves rather than others. That was the case in this book - Rosalynn fighting her expectation of rejection, Zinnar fighting his resentment of his status and his sense of duty. I love how the author spun the creation of a fake betrothal to allow Zinnar to prove himself to Rosalynn. I definitely like how one of the other ladies gave Rosalynn good reason to stop focusing on herself - truer words have never prevented more disaster. The rescue at the end was the cherry on top of the sundae. Lots of fun to read!

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Quite an interesting read - I really like this new (for me) author …

Two extremely interesting characters- Rosalyn simply wants someone to want her, while Zinnar is a prince who would rather be just a soldier, help his people and doesn’t believe in forced marriages. The Alien Bride Race brings these two together in a roundabout way - that roundabout way being basically the storyline with all the angst and roadblocks necessary to keep things interesting. Will these two find in each other what they are looking for? Or is there something more important out there for each of them?

The Pact

The MFC is dealing with the usual concerns about trying to find a decent mate (in books and RL),

“All I want is to meet my future alien mate and feel needed for once. I hope he isn’t a jerk.”

And,

“I would’ve dealt with whatever life I got if, for once, I was just wanted by someone that isn’t a piece of shit.”

I liked the contrast between this book and the first one where the MFC only wants to win but gets caught right away. This MFC wants a decent mate but ends up winning. I liked how her experience with chemistry and perfumes helped win the day.

I received this as a free arc copy but fully recommend it to anyone who enjoys a fun light-hearted romance. This has good world building and even minor characters are skilfully drawn so that we can clearly see the prissy boss etc. I enjoyed the deep ethics of both protagonists, that it was a more realistic let's get to know each other relationship build-up rather than the insta love popular n this genre. I thoroughly enjoyed it .

No one choose her during the Alien Bride Race even though it was all Rosalynn wanted to be loved by someone. All that scrapping for nothing but to get the one million dollars. Only one warrior, Zinnar, stood out, but he chose another. Zinnar discovers he made a mistake and goes after Rosalynn. What occurs is an engaging story I'd couldn't put down. The characters were wonderful, the romance was steamy, and the action captivating in this enjoyable copy I'd received and volunteer to review.

What a wonderfully done novella! Enter the Alien Bride Race! This is what Rosalynn would do to find her true mate, her love!

Zinnar was content with his role. He didn't need the throne to feel fulfilled!

But, he enters the race to please his father.

Enter fake relationship! But is it!?!

I had so much fun reading this story!

Loved the steamy scenes! Yum!

Absolutely AWESOME 😁

This series just keeps getting better and better 😃. Our heroine has a lot going for her, but being poor has held her back 😕. Our hero is a prince who just wants to be a soldier 😊. Together they'll make a great team against the enemy 😉. Thanks Sybur, I truly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more 🤓.

More war struggles than romance

This is book three in the series. I was disappointed that the book did not match the preview statement. The storyline was mostly about the war in the lead male character’s kingdom. The alien bride race is a small part in the middle of the book. The couple does not really join until the end of the book. Disappointed.

Zinnar and Rosalynn

This was a great story and I loved how we got to know Rosalynn at her work and you learn all the tidbits that make her such a good match for Zinnar. He is a fantastic character and I love what a down to earth soldier he is. The cloaked thieves and Rosa"s amazing sense of smell really make for a great mystery and her way to help them fight the Nebs.

Both the main characters had a hard life, but in completely different ways. Rosalynn desperately wants a mate, while Zinnar feels forced into it. But all it takes is a single look to find the one. Unfortunately, this causes a huge problem for both of them, a problem that could tear them apart.

I think I should have started with the first book in the series. I was a little confused with the “race”. They had to chase the females?

I kind of didn’t like the FMC…she really holds a grudge against him when he didn’t “choose” her first. Kind of childish.

DNF on page 1. This is, by far, the worst writing I've encountered in a "published" book. The sentence structure is cluttered and difficult to read, and there's no flow of ideas. It's like peeking inside a 3rd grader's brain.

Resonance

This book has resonated with me on a much higher level than any other book I have read. It is so surreal to me. I feel I connected with Roselynn and her needs. Loved this book the most. Have loved all the series so far. Glad I found them.

Well, it wasn’t bad — I really liked the premise of the book, but I felt that even though the story was promising, the author rushed through it, and the book ended up being almost the same as the first one.

Interesting read. I never did figure out what type of Alien Zinner was. He had so many talents and changes that it was challenging to keep up.

All that Rosalynn wants is to be loved and,as a last hope, she goes to the Alien bride race.
Zinnar is a relutanct prince going to the race forced by his father, the king.
But everything turns wrong....
The third book of this great series.
A good world building,a multilayered storyline ,
captivating characters and steamy scenes.
As a personnal note, I would have liked to see a bit more of steam between them but in the overall is a great reading !
