Hazelwood Harbingers seek to create aesthetic scenes with their victims. When an overzealous reporter for the Hazelwood Herald, Quinn Sorvani, gets too close to the truth, Dom and Malakhi must act fast.
This quick and dirty read will feed your dark and depraved side. But don’t worry, there’s just enough storyline to quell any guilt for devouring this kïnky quickie!

Read with careful. A lot of triggers, a lot of gore. It's an m/m, I was going to say romance, but I can't honestly can't say that. This is sex between two brothers, if this is a no-go for you, don't read this. Very graphic, sex with/in front of corpses. Two serial killers, a reporter, and the story will not develop the way you may think. Of course, I loved it, but I enjoy madness, so this is my kinda of book.
Damn... I love this novella. It's my first MM romance book and I love it. It has everything... romance, killing, a little conflict, kidnapping, and whatnot. A proper dark romance book. I read Brother Beauty and it was also good that book made me feel like I have to read a book about these brothers.
Okay, I never guessed that I could feel jealous while reading a book but here I am when the MMC laid his eyes on someone else when he should be only his brothers.
* It's a taboo romance. * It's a standalone book
What happens when you have an abusive childhood and you and your brother seek an escape when in forensics and crime books? What happens when caring for your brother turns into something more... something that cannot be described? What happens when your secret is hidden well until a reporter starts taking interest in your serial killing activities? What happens when you plan to just keep an eye on the reporter but that turns into something more... shall we say obsession? What happens when your brother gets to know about your obsession and he is against that? What do you think a serial killer brother will do about it?
Harbingers by Tate Monroe is a dark taboo romance.
I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the push and pull between Dom and Khi. I really enjoyed getting Dom, Khi, and Quinn's points of views throughout the book.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a dark taboo romance, serial killer romance, or stalker romance.
this story felt purely like a “horror” erotica (if you can even call it that) with little to no romance at all. i didn’t feel much of a connection between both MMC’s despite the amount of times that they claimed they were “inseparable.”
Only rated so low because where was the aftercare? After calling Khi names and rough fucking him, there isn’t a single ounce of aftercare? I get this is a dark book and they aren’t the people to do aftercare but it would have been nice to see some form of aftercare or gentleness between them.
Safety: • No virgins (they already started hooking up by the point the story started) • Dom is Khi’s one and only but Dom fucked others before • No OM • slight OW because Khi falls for a woman and they have a mmf scene ish. This book does not end on the relationship being mmf, just mm.

Dom killed the girl his brother liked while his brothers dick was in the girls throat😀
This is a twisted and taboo romance full of murder, mystery, and all the hot Dom/brat goodness!
Dom and Khi are unique characters and complete opposites of each other. Dom is the old brother and the protector, a control freak, very dominant, and extremely jealous and possessive of his brother. Khi, meanwhile, is the polar opposite and lives to have fun, doesn’t worry about much, is a complete brat, and loves to push Dom’s buttons and be punished.
They are both obsessed with killing people and creating the perfect crime scene like an art piece. They are their town’s serial killers, and soon, a reporter starts to piece together everything, and the brothers have mixed feelings about it.
I’m not going to spoil what happens, but Tate does a great job of leading you to think it’s going to end one way and then completely tricking you lol Really enjoyed this book and look forward to hopefully seeing the LaRue brothers pop up in more books!
I love a good taboo read, throw in the murdery vibes and I’m first in line.
But I couldn’t vibe this. Some of the lines just gave me the cringe ick. Do I think others should still read it? Absolutely! Not my jam, might be yours.
Dom and his younger brother Khi aren't exactly...normal. They grew up in a household full of fighting and abuse. And they learned to lean on each other to get through it.
They also learned that they both are connected in ways no one can understand. Their love of killing (they have been dubbed the Harbingers) and their unconventional love for each other is something only the two of them can really understand.
When a pesky reporter starts poking at their crime scenes and getting closer to revealing their identities, Dom is ready to kill her off, but Khi becomes obsessed with making her a new plaything for them.
When we first met Dom and Khi in Brother's Beauty (Ethan and Isabella's book), I was really hoping we would get a book for them. So I was happy to see that they got one!
But this wasn't exactly what I expected. Of course, the violence and killing is something I've come to expect from Tate and Rory books. But I didn't really like that Quinn came between them emotionally even for a short while.
One of the things I've come to expect from these authors is absolutely psychotic obsessive couples. And Dom was definitely that. So was Khi, but it almost felt like he cheated on Dom emotionally when he became obsessed with Quinn. And for what? He wasn't even really that into her if he wasn't that upset by her death? I just didn't get the point of it.
I did like the crazy toxic sexy relationship between Dom and Khi though. That was great. But I definitely could've gone without the emotional cheating.
Overall not a favorite by this author duo. I was hoping for something different for Dom and Khi. Oh well.
----------------------------------- ----------------------------------- CHARACTER CONNECTIONS:
Since Rory and Tate books have so many character connections that are hard to pin down, I'm going to start making a list at the bottom of each review for their books with character appearances so I can track them with past and future books.

"One, two, the Harbingers are coming for you. Three, four, rotten to the core. Five, six, killing is my only fix. Seven, eight, it’s time to create. Nine, ten, someone’s going to meet my knife again"
God this book was dark and depraved at its finest, This book revolves around two serial killer brothers who like to make aesthetic artistic murder creations with their victims, the brothers are in an intense incestuous relationship while a nosy hardheaded reporter tries to track them down
This book is packed with dark depraved spice with lots of killing, stalking and sex. The dark horror erotica eroticed so good in this book! Totally worth a read!
« Our relationship was not ordinary. It was a force that compelled us to explore the darkest corners of our souls, to confront shadows that had shaped us. »
Disturbing… what kind of dark depraved human being writes this kind of FILTH? And even worse, what kind of sick minded individual reads this kind of twisted unsettling material?
This bitch does 🙋♀️ Hi I’m the problem it’s me 😁 4 gloriously f*cked up stars ⭐️ ✨
Why was this so good? My therapist is really gonna have her work cut out for her. Tate Monroe, you beautifully disturbed individual, ur really making that bitch work for her paycheck.
I really loved how completely F*CKED UP this was, it was dark and twisted and the FILTH?! Don’t get me started on the filth, I’d sell my soul for the mouth of these characters 🤤 the spice was definitely spicing. 🥵🥵🥵 I love the brothers so much I loved how irrevocably entwined they were, I didn’t care much for Quinn, I honestly could have read a 1000 pages about just these 2 brothers and still it wouldn’t be enough! And that ending scene with the throat (if you know you know) was ALMOST too much for me. (The fact that I’m saying almost too much and not 1000% too much is so concerning in and of itself) This made me so uncomfortable in the best way possible, this is definitely one of the darkest books I’ve read in a hot minute and good lord was it a doozy. I’m so sad this author isn’t writing anymore cuz boy oh boy does she ever have a talent for the unsettling!
Read at your own risk, CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS if you have literally any triggers or if you’re just as fucked up as me and your a glutton for punishment go in blind and hold on for one hell of a ride.
Whoa! That was a dark creepy tale! I super loved it because who doesn’t love crazy possessive psychopaths?🔥🔥🔥
This is a story about a couple of serial killer lovers, who also happen to be brothers. Expect not only lots of taboo lovin’ but also plenty of knife and blood play.
There’s a 3rd character that gets a few chapters with their POV. It definitely makes you wonder what direction the story is headed. I suppose the ending was inevitable but I’m not sure how to feel about it. I always feel like this authors’ books leave me with a lot of unanswered questions and this book is no different. I had a lot of questions regarding the motivation of the 3rd (female) POV. She was obviously clever but did she really expect things to turn out any different? Why was she so obsessed? I sort of feel like the authors like to create intricate plot lines and characters all have extremely complicated histories…but the book is really just taboo erotica, so the story doesn’t ever feel complete or like it comes together at the end. It always feels like I’m missing important information or even a previous book- but I’m not, there’s just a lot of the story you’ll need to complete in your imagination…
This is a huge annoyance for me with these authors but I can’t deny I’m crazy obsessed with their tales of taboo erotica so I will definitely grab everything they publish. In fact, there is reference to the couple in Pandemonium so I’m off to read that next.
I was really looking forward to reading this story. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped for it. I'm all in for the taboo and horror erotica, which are parts that I can't complain about here. I liked the connection between the brothers, it was a bit sick and codepended but I wouldn't expect anything less. They were both unhinged and twisted with an obsession for a perfect crime, which they mastered to perfection. Now, I'm not against when female is thrown into the picture, but for some reason, I couldn't feel it here in 100%. It was obvious that Dom would not like this unexpected threat to his relationship with Khi in a person of Quinn. Khi, on the other hand, was fascinated by the girl who was able to figure out what they really are. I wished that the Quinn situation was executed slightly differently. There was something dark about her, but unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to uncover it because of Dom's possessiveness. There was this strange connection between them all, and Khi definitely felt it, but it's was over way too fast without exploring. Thanks, Dom lol 😆 and after all this hassle and Khi's obsession with the girl, it was all done, forgotten. I really have mixed feelings here. I can't help it, lol

I liked this story mainly because they are brothers, like 🩸 brothers, and you know I’m an incest loving girlie😏
But it really was pretty simple and straightforward… Dominic and Malakhi are brothers, lovers and most of all obsessed and enamored by murder and creating the perfect murder scenes. They own a cleaning business where they clean crime scenes and that helps them cover their tracks and keep on murdering when the time comes🩸
I liked how their dynamic works even when it really shouldn’t and how Khi is all over the place… As I said, I liked it, but it was a bit repetitive.. and I would have loved for the 🌶️ scenes to be longer and waaay more detailed. But it was cute, a nice short book to read in one sitting.
Meet the LaRue brothers, Dom and Khi, the dynamic duo who play hard and work harder. Dom is the alpha pup, a bit of a control freak, and is fiercely devoted to his younger brother, Khi. Khi, on the other hand, lives for the moment and is all about having a good time. But when a nosy reporter named Quinn Sorvani starts snooping around, things take a turn. It's up to Dom and Khi to act quickly to protect their secrets. I loved hearing the perspectives of all three characters throughout the book.
Things to know Brothers, Jealous/Possessive, Taboo, Figging, Blood play, Dubcon, Kidnapping, Murder
We got a quick preview of these guys in Brother's Beauty when Ethan asks them for help. Serial Killer brothers with a crime scene clean up business blood play corpse play incest If I were Dom I would have been very pissed at Khi. That scene with that journalist had me worried!
These guys are interesting enough to have a full novel - more plot than smut.
So fair warning, this does not have a full happy ending you would expect.
The end will absolutely shock you, yet at the same time, it’s not a huge shock.
I do absolutely love the relationship between Dom and Khi. Two psychos who absolutely love each other in a way that only two messed up individuals can.
The spice in this is super hot and it’s a pretty quick read.
I would say this is the darkest book that Tate Monroe has written.
Every book from the Banned Baddies is unique. Worlds may intertwine, characters paths my cross, but each book is wholly its own. Dom and Khi are many things; brothers, business owners, crime scene cleaners, soul mates. Every person that finds themselves in the path of The Harbingers have dirty secrets of their own. This book gives an in-depth look into the broken psyches of two brothers who love death and causing chaos but still try to do a little good with their work.
DNF 41% I just couldn't take the back and forth of them being made for each other and no one understands and them leaving a "legacy" 🙄 like come off it. In Dom's chapters, he talks about his dominance over Khi and nobody can touch Khi or make Khi cry blah blah blah In Khi's chapters, he would go off about making Dom lose his temper so he would punish him cause he loves it. I got sick of there being no plot and had to drop it cause it was legit pissing me off.
I knew when I read the teaser for this story at the end of a previously released book it was going to be great. You could tell just how unhinged the two of these guys are from just a few pages. I still wasn't prepared for how unhinged Dom would be though lol! The need for control and his possessiveness is off the charts and he manages to prove that towards the end of the book. Props to Tate for taking things that far because as messed up as it was I couldn't have imagined things playing out any other way without not being true to Dom's character. So the way it was written is exactly what one would expect from him. The addition of another character was interesting and I enjoyed how it intertwined with the plot. I need more MM taboo stories like this from you Tate!!
