solid 3.5 to finish off the 3 pack I got all at once. many chickens come home to roost and we see the next roost being built... okay maybe I can't stretch that analogy. in short some mistakes made in earlier books as well as things done in a rush have some consequences in this one while there's still plenty of build up for the rest of the series. There are also some excellent battles and subterfuge. It is the third in the series so only read this if you're interested in the series.
overall good enough for me to keep going with the series
Definitely a book worth reading, though I can’t help but feeling like the MC is a bit of an idiot. His approach to most problems seems to be, “hit it hard” and ignore what’s going on around him (which comes back to bite him in this book). That said, the rest of the world building is interesting and keeps it a fun read.
This novel improves on the books that precede it in nearly every way. The action is bigger. The stakes feel more real. We’re introduced to an iconic holiday character and his pet… dragon? Huh. That’s unexpected. Yet somehow it’s both more heartfelt and goofy than previous installments, embracing the infinite possibilities that exist within the litRPG genre.
