I had a copy of this 1971 book back in my high school days. I studied it in hopes of learning how to live on my own. I had the book for years, but somehow my copy got lost in one of those shuffles that happen every so often in life.
But I remembered the book and a few months ago I thought it would be fun to see if Thriftbooks had a copy. Obviously they did. lol
I have just skimmed through it now, sort of just saying hello to an old friend. It is meant for young people heading out on their own for the first time, renting apartments and learning how to cook and clean for themselves (if they don't already know that, which I did not back in my day).
I thought it was great back then and there are many parts of it that would still be great now. I'm happy to have a copy back on my shelves. I imagine I will read bits and pieces more carefully now and again, but really this review is just a salute to a handy reference book that helped me learn how to be as independent as I dreamed of being.
