This issue was better than the last, and I'm hopeful it will continue along that trend.
This issue of the new 1632 anthology series presented a number of interesting stories.
Escape from Moscow - Backfilled some information involving Miroslava Holmes, and was quiet enjoyable.
The Frog in the Well - Further detailed Japan's reaction to the Ring of Fire, and it will be interesting to see how these threads develop. Interesting characters as well.
A Meeting at Midsummer - An uptimer taken by chance to the 1630s, it follows Paul's journey as he becomes what is effectively the Intelligence section of the army. It's good, although only touches on the wiccan aspect slightly.
The Mathew Grant Letters - Uptimer sends correspondence to his ancestor in North America giving him a heads up about his future and discussion the butterfly affect. The Letter / Response Letter format was engaging. I'd be on board for more of these stories.
An Adventure in Perception - I know I've read about Lewis in either a previous Grantville Gazette or in one of the Italian main books but I cannot for the life of me remember where. This one was also good, and I'm way more informed about invisible inks than I was before!
Down-Time Medical Training - Interesting synopsis of how the uptimers instituted medical training in the downtimers, and what elements they cribbed from existing novels, instructional manuals and medical texts. (I'm looking at you "Nightingales!)
Talk about just wetting your whistle! I hope these stories are fleshed out in the future. I haven't had a bento box in ages. I want Odin to have his spear back.
