When a New Billionaire NFL Owner’s one-night stand with the Head Cheerleader sparks a stormy romance, will it be a mistake they regret or a storm worth weathering together?

One electric night, hidden behind the glamour of a charity event, our worlds collide, and when a hurricane traps us together, we’re forced to face the tension and attraction we’ve shared from day one.

But reality awaits us outside, where flashing cameras and scathing headlines threaten to tear us—and our careers—apart. Can I trust this man? For work? For passion like I’ve never known. Is he a player or a true team player? I’ll find out soon enough.

short and sweet billionaire forced proximity romance
I enjoyed this fun book with low angst and wit. It's wrapped up really well without it being rushed, not easy for a novella.
I loved the characters and side characters.
This is a good read if you are looking for a quick uplifting read.

The good: The book is only 105 pages and I read through it in an hour. This book felt like a parody of a better-known title. The whole plot is forced. Nearly the whole book has the couple trying to stay away from each other because they do not think office romances are appropriate then the last two chapters have them accepting their relationship and getting married. No tension. No suspense. Barely any characters outside the romance. The book barely has a plot and feels shallow. I will not be reading any more titles from this author. I received a free copy of the book from Voracious Readers Only in exchange for my review.

This should have only been a one night thing, but when they are locked in together during a storm, will they be able to keep to themselves? What if someone finds out? He is her boss. Only reason this book got 2 stars is because the beginning started off spicy and fun. But it quickly unraveled into an undeveloped storyline and the WORST editing known to man. Seriously takes you out of the story. Quick read but overall not worth the time. Sorry…

This was a quick easy read. It had a few grammatical mistakes and there weren’t any big moments throughout the book. This is ideal for someone who wants a quick feel good read.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

What is head cheerleader, Piper Jensen, supposed to do when she learns that the one-night stand she had after last night’s gala was with none other than Dylan Knightly, billionaire, new owner of the NFL’s Miami Storm, and, therefore, her new boss? Well, panic a bit, of course.

This book is anything but a slow burn. Its spice starts on page 8. Inside we find Piper and Dylan fighting against an attraction that started as physical, but turns into something much more complex.

When a wayward hurricane interrupts training camp, Piper and Dylan have to work together to keep everyone safe and calm. Unfortunately, all it takes is one opportunistic individual to photograph an intimate moment between them, and the press is ready to have a field day that has nothing to do with the upcoming football season.

Book Quote: If I had known that team building would be part of my job as an NFL owner, I might have thought twice about buying a team. [According to coach Donovan], “In team sports, you also need to enjoy being a team… besides, Piper’s fun.” I almost choked. He had no idea.

Fortunately, Dylan’s eccentric and extremely effective personal assistant, Jacob, takes charge of the issue and determines that there’s more going on than either of them are willing to admit.

This is an enjoyable very light and quick read. To fully enjoy it, you must be willing to remember this is fiction and suspend your expectation of professional team sport accuracy. With that in mind, I’m confident you’re going to be smiling when you find yourself at the end of this book.

Book Quote: Just as I’m about to leave, the buzzer on my door comes to life… “Hello, this is Jacob Hoffman, Dylan Knightly’s PA. I’m here to escort you to the PR meeting.” I frown. “Wait. How do I know you’re his PA?” “He doesn’t like to wear underwear, and he has a hideous vase on his dinner table. Also, you went home with him from the ball, wearing a dress that sparkled like starlight, and wore a floral perfume.“ Goodness, had the man told his assistant everything?

Olivia Lively's "Touchdown Billionaire" plunges readers into the high-stakes, glittering world of professional sports, where a fiery cheerleader and a brooding tech mogul find themselves entangled in a romance as intense as a championship game. Piper, the vivacious head cheerleader for the Miami Storm, has a life of predictable joy until Dylan Knight, the team's enigmatic new billionaire owner, literally dances his way into her orbit.

The novella quickly sets the stage for an undeniable attraction, hinting at the sparks that have flown between them long before their fateful encounter at a charity event. The plot kicks into high gear when a hurricane traps them together, forcing them to confront the potent chemistry and simmering tension that has defined their interactions. This forced proximity trope is expertly utilized, accelerating their connection and peeling back layers from Dylan's mysterious persona.

However, the calm before the storm—both meteorological and emotional—is short-lived. The outside world, with its relentless paparazzi and scandalous headlines, threatens to expose their budding relationship and jeopardize both their careers and the multi-billion dollar franchise at stake. This external conflict adds a compelling layer of suspense, leaving readers to wonder if their burgeoning passion can survive the pressures of public scrutiny.

Lively crafts a narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat, mirroring the fast-paced energy of a football game. The heroine's internal struggle—questioning if Dylan is a "player" in love or just in business—adds depth to her character. "Touchdown Billionaire" is a quick, steamy read perfect for anyone who loves a contemporary romance with high stakes, undeniable chemistry, and a touch of forbidden allure. Olivia Lively scores a touchdown with this captivating novella.

I think the concept of the book is great, but the execution is poorly done. The idea of the book is very basic, very done before, which is why I'd like to see this as a longer book to differentiate between the same ol' thing. It jumps ahead so often without really any reason. She told him on what I can only assume is Thursday that she can't do tomorrow (as she teaches classes fridays) and can't do Saturday unless he wants to meet her family. They settle on the Thursday and in the very next sentence/paragraph it's Thursday - with no separation. I also noticed sometimes there were quotations in the wrong place, or missing where it was needed. It would benefit with another editor running through and fixing a few things up.
again, the book is predictable, short and leaves a lot out but has the potential to become a good novel if the author chooses to go back and re-write it. This book reminds me of the first draft in writing where the teacher just wants to to the concept of your book, and then you go back and fill it in.

Overall, I thought this was a cute, fun, and very quick read. I enjoyed it.

This was a fun quick sports romance story. I liked the characters and I truly wish this story was longer and more detailed. While I enjoyed it I did feel that the flow of the story was rushed which didn’t give the reader the opportunity to truly connect with the characters and everything that was happening in the story. I also tend to be a stickler for typos and grammatical errors and there were a few that had me fixated enough to distract from being engrossed in what I was reading instead of how it read. No I’m not an English teacher but I’ve been an avid reader since I could read and little things like that are a big distraction. So maybe a little more editing in the future? I don’t know as I seem to run into this more and more.

I received this book (novella really, it’s very short) at no cost. I read it in a couple of hours so if you are looking for a quick, easy read and don’t mind a few typos I would definitely recommend this book.

Sometimes you read a book that you enjoy so much that you just polish it off in one sitting. Now I will admit that this one is quite a short book and it was the weekend and I had no particular place to be... but even so, I really enjoyed this story.
It can be difficult with the novella length romances, to get the balance between giving enough of the characters, without leaving no room for the story itself. I think in Touchdown Billionaire, it was done very well and the balance really worked.
I loved the contrast between grumpy owner Dylan and cheerleader Piper. They worked really well together and despite the fact that they didn't really have many pages to weave their story, they still managed to do it really well.
This was my first book by Olivia Lively, but I don't think it will be my last. Really good.

I received a free copy of the book from Voracious Readers Only in exchange for my review.

The book starts with a steamy night between Piper, head cheerleader of The Storm (a football team), and the new owner, Dylan. No, they don't know who each other is initially, but when Dylan finds out, he puts a stop to even the idea of a relationship, even though the sparks are flying. Piper agrees with his reasoning as well, and they go their separate ways. At training camp during a hurricane, they get locked in a supply closet in the dark. Sparks continue to fly, and they can't ignore them. What happens when a picture of their tryst makes its way into the papers?

This book was a quick read, meaning there was very little time for a buildup or suspense. Any conflicts get resolved quite quickly, which leaves me a little unsatisfied. If the book had been longer, more could have been done with the plot, and more of the story and characters could have been developed.

First off, this is not a book, it's a novela- so be aware of that going in. And it starts with a bang, literally.

I personally, don't love sexual situations without some plot and/or character development, so this didn't really appeal to me. If I had not picked it up as an ARC, I likely would have dropped it pretty quickly. That said, I continued reading and enjoyed the characters and the writing style overall. I think if these characters and story were extended to a full book length, that I would've really enjoyed it a lot.

So, I rated this as a 4, because, it is good for what it is- BUT I think it would likely be a 5 star book if developed and lengthened. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I’ll be that girl and say I got this book for free with the encouragement of a review. But I also gotta say I wish I hadn’t. It’s a very quick read. It was going okay, not a ton of character development or chemistry, but then right when I was like, okay things are gonna pick up, I turned the page and it was the epilogue! Such an abrupt ending! Several outstanding issues went unaddressed and the epilogue just magically made everyone’s’ dreams come true without ever mentioning putting any plans in motion earlier in the book. It feels like the author just got tired of writing and gave up at what should have been like a midway point. A few grammar and continuity issues. The good thing I can say is that it’s short.

Another 2.5/5 star read for today. I got this from Voracious Readers Only for free which is why I feel so bad when I say I don't like a book from them. The only part I really liked was how fast it was, it took me just an hour to read. But being fast-paced wasn't entirely a good thing because of how time jumpy it was at times. It seemed like a book you could easily find on Wattpad with everything from the characters to the plot. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything amazing.

!!!Disclaimer: I don't think anyone actually sees my reviews but either way, I feel bad for giving a negative review to a book I got for free (even though I think the authors encourage honesty). idk though, I just hope I'm not hurting anyone's feelings !!!

This is a fun cute novella. Cheery sunshine Piper, head cheerleader of the NFL team Storm; meets the grumpy, guarded billionaire Dylan. They didn't know who each other was, well... maybe he knew, but they shared a hot dance on the dance floor and had a hot night. He thought they'd be a one-night stand, been burned by various women before. She was disappointed but had to respect it.

Of course, real life came crashing in, they have to see each other at work. Then got locked in overnight while the hurricane rolling thru. One thing led to another....

This is a very cute, short story. Easy read, love Piper and Dylan's PA - Jacob so much! Such fun characters. Grateful Dylan thought it thru.

Thank you author & Voracious Readers for the ARC

If you're looking for a novella which includes the tropes of workplace romance, boss x employee and forced proximity, this book is for you. It was a nice and quick read, the interactions between the main characters were written well. If it was a novel, I felt that their connection could have been explored much more, yet for the length of the text, it works and doesn't feel too rushed. There are moments in the book when the MML character debates whether he should want her as he's her boss, but luckily that issue is solved quickly.

I received a free copy from Voracious readers and am leaving a voluntary, honest review.

This is the first book I've had the pleasure written by Olivia Lively but it definitely won't be the last.
The five stars I gave this book were so easy to award for the simple reasons
1. This book has a clear storyline Grumpy Boss/Employee Romance
2. It's easy to read, meaning it's written well and not too long
3. Good characters
4. HEA

Girl meets gorgeous man not knowing whom he is, neither can keep their hands off each other.
Sex OFF THE CHARTS! Forbidden love by one of them. Forced relationship/into true love well you'll have to read it to find out.

I can thoroughly suggest that this is one of your TBR books. Enjoy!

While the opening drew me in initially, I struggled to connect with the characters, their motivations, and the overall authenticity of the situation.
The story reads like action, rather then understanding the characters thoughts and truly developing the growth arc/storyline.
This was a novella and at only 25K words, was a quick read. Still, the ending felt abrupt, not fully pulling the story full circle. What made Dylan change his mind? Who actually submitted the photos of them to the press? How did they both face their own fears?
This was a free copy that I received from Voracious Readers, and while an intriguing concept, I'm not sure this author fits my reading preference.

At just 100 pages this is a very quick read. That makes it difficult for there to be any character development or attachment to the story. Was it a cute quick love story yes absolutely but I think it would have been an amazing 300-350 page book.

This is a one night stand turned into boss situation with both parties fighting urges to be with each other. Eventually they can’t fight it and they decide to get
Together and as quickly as they decide that it’s cut to months later and they love happily ever after.

Another great read through Voracious Readers Only. For those happy ever after romance readers, a must for your bookshelf. This one, I was not sure was gonna end with a happily ever after, but was not disappointed.
Only negative comment I can make is that it did end too quickly. The epilogue did not give a timeframe from the end of the story. I am not one to usually keep track of chapters, so was a little surprised when I started reading this chapter and it did not really mesh with the last chapter.

A sweet novella. I was asked to read and review it as part of an ARC. The head cheerleader meets a man at a team party and goes home with him. She doesn't normally do one night stands but there is electricity with this man. The next morning she is shuffled out and she is confused and slightly pissed but leaves. Arriving at work there is a meeting called to introduce the new owner of the team and lo and behold it is the man. He ignores her and she realizes this cannot be a 'thing'. How they resolve their feelings makes this a true rom com.

The book read like a writer was forced to hide a porn novel as a romance book. They tried to add a soulmate aspect but just made it seem tacky and awkward. The book was fine but I wouldn’t read it again. The book was overly short and read like the author was forced to write it. I didn’t really enjoy it. The characters where written as if from a 12 year old with stereotypes. I got the book from “Voracious Readers Only,” which usually gives me great book recommendations and free copies of books but this one I was disappointed in. The rest from them have all been amazing other then this one.

This book was so good it was over before I realized. Dylan and Piper were explosive from the get-go. The sexual tension between then was felt in the room. Dylan was so resistant from the beginning and his heart was closed off to a new relationship from past experience. He was forced into a fake one because of someone greed. I am glad that he quickly realized that Piper was good for him in the end and they got their HEA. I wish it were a little bit longer and dug deep into hos reluctance for a new love.

This novella was an okay read for me. Because of the short length, the story felt a bit rushed and left me wanting more development to fully connect with the characters and plot. That said, it was a cute, quick read, and the spice was definitely spice-ing!

If you enjoy billionaire romances, this one includes several classic tropes: workplace romance, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, and boss/employee dynamics.

Didn’t want this to end! Only started last night, such a fast read. It’s only 100 pages but could easily be turned into a much bigger story.

Come and follow Dylan as he embarks on a new opportunity. After thinking he would never see his one night stand again OH BOY was he wrong. Only to find out that she is the captain of the NFL cheerleading squad that he has just become the owner off.

WHAT COULD GO WRONG!

Am I the only one who thinks the book has a lot of unanswered questions???
For example, who took their picture in the storage room? How long did they date before the proposal? How has the relationship been since they accepted each other? What happened to others during the hurricane? How did team members and fellow staff react to their relationship??

This book needs some more context, in my opinion.
Also, if you have answers to any of my questions, please feel free to reply. Thank you 😊

Well this was a cute fun read. Overall the book was very predictable, but I still loved it lol! It had me guessing till when the fml and mml would get together, or not.

It was a very fast paced book, had me feeling like I was right into the plot since the beginning haha! Although I do enjoy reading a lot of romance, it still felt like a new genre to me, the writing style feels very different from many romance authors.
