Veterinarian and Dark Knights biker Baxter “Baz” Wicked, the most charming and mysterious of the family, has a career he loves, a brotherhood he trusts, and plans that don’t include settling down just yet. Come along for the unexpected, hilarious, and heart-wrenching ride as Baz discovers that life and love can be messy, and carefully crafted plans can’t hold a candle to ten tiny fingers and toes.

Talk Wicked to Me may be enjoyed as a standalone romance or as part of the larger series. No cliffhangers, no cheating, and a happily ever after that will leave you breathless.

Tropes: Pregnant heroine, single-parent, small-town romance, found family, biker family, close proximity, protective hero, he falls first, strangers to lovers, slow burn, chance meeting, golden-retriever hero, romance with animals.

**

Between expanding his veterinary practice, commitments with his motorcycle club, and international travel plans, Baz Wicked has little time for anything else. When a beautiful, frantic pregnant woman barges into his office for help with her dog, he senses something is off, and he’s drawn to her in ways he shouldn’t be. But now he can’t get Emerson Lockhart out of his head.

Having a baby wasn’t in Emerson’s plans, but neither was tragically losing her parents more than a decade ago, when she was only a teenager. After all she’s been through, leaving the chaos of New York City and moving to the peaceful small town of Bayside while on the cusp of giving birth was a piece of cake. She’s used to handling things on her own, but when an unexpected emergency brings the charming vet—who makes her remember she’s more than a mother-to-be—back into her life, she’s grateful for his help but wary of his friendship.

Emerson knows how quickly the people she cares about can be stolen away, and she never wants to experience that devastation again. But the fiercely loyal, protective biker isn’t easily dissuaded. Passion ignites and affections run deep, but when their pasts collide and Baz’s demons are revealed, will it douse their flames, or can true love prevail?

**

About The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside

This story follows Emerson, who is due to give birth any moment and has moved to a small town to escape the big city. After her dog eats some chocolate-filled cookies, she rushes to the vet. Dr. Wicked, the owner of the clinic, has international goals and is part of his family’s motorcycle club. Baz Wicked doesn’t have time for commitment, but he can’t get her out of his head.

I devoured this book. This man is perfection in the way he helps her from the start. The pregnancy and birth in the first few chapters really set the tone for the story, and you get to watch them fall hard for each other. I’m a sucker for the pregnancy trope at the moment—it makes me melt. I loved all of Baz’s family and how welcoming they made Emerson feel. I highly recommend the audiobook; the narrators are fantastic!

You weren't lost, darlin'. You just didn't know you were on a journey to find us."

First Impressions
Talk Wicked to Me is the latest book in the "Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside" series. It feels like forever since we had a release in this series. Melissa Foster has gone a bit slower in her releases in recent years. So I couldn't wait to read this one, and as soon the preorder of the audiobook came in, I just had to grab it up immediately, and yes I let go of my TBR reads of the week, so that I could indulge into this one here. Talk Wicked To Me was a unique twist on accidental pregnancy where the baby doesn't belong to the hero, but where the hero comes into the situation protective and a stable steady presence. There is a bit of forbidden love, as the hero is to leave for a trip soon, and he isn't looking for anything serious....until he met Emerson.

First Line
"I can't believe you're leaving me."

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Baz
The Heroine: Emerson

You were the most beautifully real person i'd ever seen...

Summary
Baz is a Veterninarian and is also part of the Dark Knights biker club, he is well chased by many women, a flirty of the first order and is well charming, but isn't looking for anything serious because he is planning a trip for four months away for doctors without borders, to fulfill a promise to his sister. When one day, a heavily pregnant woman walks into his office, worries she got her dog sick, and Baz is instantly drawn to her and protective and wanted to care of her. But when he helps her give birth, there is a deep connection that forms between them. But Emerson is independent and not used to leaning on anyone for help. Ever since her parents were killed, she has been content being alone and is prepared to care for her baby on her own. But Baz is protective, seeing to her every need and so patient and respectful and beyond that kind in ways she never imagined a person could be, but the love that is bursting between them....can it last?

Not a second goes by without me wanting you, I didn't want to rush you, but don't mistake that consideration for disinterest."

What I Loved
Talk Wicked To Me had so many aspects to the story that was beyond delectable. I couldn't get enough of this book and this romance melted me from head to toe! From the very beginning, I was pulled into this story and I just didn't want to put it down. The story starts off with our hero, being charmed by our heroine, who is so worried over her dog and when Baz helps her when she is in labor, you see how drawn they are together. Baz is completely there for her, even though she has a lot of pride and doesn't want to accept his help. This is where I would call him a alpha mellow. He is such a caretaker in this book, and even though he is determined to help her, at the same time, he is also respectful of her space when she is needing it. We see such balance in him, and this is the type of alpha male that I think will work for most readers, because his alpha moments come out in his need to protect and take care of her. The heroine is stubborn at times and a bit too prideful at times. But you see how connected she is to Baz.

Emerson, you blew into my office like a tornado, and you became my wind.

What I Struggled With
The only thing I struggled with was the heroine. Her pride really got the best of her, sometimes just plain ole common sense. But she learns and grows to accept the generosity but she does get a bit bull headed at times. I also wasn't a huge fan of how she treats the hero in the third act in this one scene. I felt like she could have been more aware and mindful of Baz and his feelings. But it wasn't enough to take away too much from the rating.

Narration
This narration pair was just right. Its in Dual POV so you do have two narrators and they handled it so well together here. They also were just fun to listen to, that I didn't want to put it down. They also captured the personalities of the characters involved in the story just right.

Overall View
Talk Wicked To Me is a story that oozes charm, delights and emotional intrigue. Its a tale of pining love, friendship bonds, and the value of family. SIMPLE A PRICELESS LOVE TALE!

Steam/Spice Explanations

Simmering cup of tea---soft warm touches and light intimacy
Warmin' by the fire- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments.
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Blazing fire to the building-The prime focus is the sex scenes, scorching hot, and could burn one. Less focus on the emotional intimacy to the relationship.

The whole Wicked family rivals the Whiskeys on banter, hotness, family loyalty and humour. I didn’t know what to expect with Baz’s story but it was incredibly sweet, sexy, and wonderful. I love how hard Melissa Foster’s alpha males love. Another hit. That makes what? Every book I’ve read by her so far? Excellent record 😉

5 Glorious Mr. Husband Material Stars

Baxter “Baz” Wicked is the Town of Bayside's Vet, also known as Mr. Husband Material, by all the single women in and around the small town. But he has no interest in settling down, so when a frantic and very pregnant Emerson Lockhart rushes her dog, Ollie, to his office after the dog eats some chocolate chips to have him checked out, he's surprised about the intense feelings stirring inside him.

Emerson has been alone for a very long time, so she didn't think twice about moving to a new town, heck, a new state, while eight months pregnant. But as things progress with the pushy biker, she wonders if others didn't play a hand in pushing her his way.

⠀⠀⠀📖 A R C ⠀ R E V I E W 📖
┗━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┛

Talk Wicked To Me is the sixth book in Melissa Foster's The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series. It's been a year since we met our last Dark Knight & fellow Wicked, Blaine, in his story His Wicked Ways, and he's now dropping back to let our next leading man ride up front. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for Baz Wicked.

This gentleman has popped up in scenes here and there throughout other books in the series, giving is tiny insights into his personality and who he is as a character, but here is where he has the opportunity for readers to really get to know who he is, what he's about and just how Wicked he really is, in his own story -- teamed with his very own leading lady, of course.

Crafting his own life and career as both a Dark Knight in the motorcycle club of the same name and his profession as a veterinarian, Baz Wicked finds himself with little time for anything else outside of those two things. That is, until a very beautiful, very pregnant, woman bursts through the doors of his practise begging and pleading for assistance to help with her dog whom she is very concerned about. Understandably, Baz finds it hard to ignore his instant draw to her and in ways he knows that he should not be.

This is harder to do when he, despite all his best efforts to distract himself, can't stop his brain from thinking about Emerson Lockhart.

In the grand scheme of things, Emerson Lockhart never planned on having a baby. Losing both of her parents also wasn't part of the plan, either, even if their loss is now more than a decade ago when she was a teenager navigating her way through that part of her life. Since then, she's been though the mill and has been through so much and after all of it, she leaves the chaos of the city--namely, New York City-- for the much calmer, slower, peaceful town of Bayside. She's handled everything on her own since their deaths and is very much used to it, until she meets a certain bike-riding, Wicked as hell vet who wakes her up and gracefully instills into her that not only is she a mother-t0-be, but that she is more than that.

Although she is thankful for his brining her back to life, she's grateful for his help but wary of a friendship with him.

Knowing that the people she loves and cares for can easily be taken away from her at the drop of a hat, Emerson never wants to experience that pain ever again. The devastation she would feel would be simply unbearable. Try then, telling all of this to the fiercely loyal, protective biker who is far from dissuaded when his head is in the game and his eyes are on his prize. And there's no way he's stopping until she, his prize, is firmly in his possession.

When things kick up a gear for Baz and Emerson, passions running high and affections running deep, it's only a matter of time before both of their pasts rear their ugly heads and collide and demons are revealed. These demons will either douse the burning flames of their desire for one another, or the sheer passionate nature of their love will help them prevail against all odds.

Within the first three chapters, I knew I was onto a winner of a book. To tell the truth, I knew it from the first but didn't want to count my eggs before they hatched. My feeling about it from the first chapter, was firmly cemented by the third. Melissa injects her 'overcoming adversity' theme into this next instalment in the series, though in a different way to than it has been done in previous books. Though not wildly different to anything we've read before, by her or another author, she makes the theme uniquely hers with the use of Baz and Emerson as main characters. Their story gets off on a very interesting--if not unexpected--start, and it only continued to get better and better from there.

Baz actually stood out for me for a few reasons other than he's a knockout of a Dark Knight. Firstly, for his bigness in both stature and personality, he is what is known in the book world as a 'golden retriever hero'. Yes he's big, dominating and all the things we love about an alpha male in a romance novel, but he's also intensely he's friendly, upbeat and loyal instead of being growly, grumpy or grouchy. These types of men can also be known as 'cinnamon roll heroes' or even 'squishy-centred men', which I think both also describe Baz to a T. I love that he doesn't fall under the stereotype of a MMC biker as his entire personality, as we get to see him as both Baz the vet and Baz the person. The Protector. I had immediate hearts in my eyes for him as much as he did for Emerson and her baby.

Emerson too had things about her that made her such a lovely character to read about. Namely, the relatability. If I can find an aspect of any book--big or small--that I can connect with in terms of relatability, I have a deeper love for it. With Emerson, it was a few things that I could find relatable to myself. Firstly, breaking away from the familiar to branch out into unknown waters. Something I am, to this day, still afraid to do to some degree, but I can feel my courage building to do it and take the plunge into said unknown waters. Next comes handling things on her own. Emerson hasn't had any choice BUT to handle things on her own, whereas I have been blessed with support from my small family. However, when it's boiled down to the things that have truly mattered to me, where I've needed support, advice and cheering on from outside of my small family circle? Sometimes even help? Silence. I've had no choice but to do what I need to do, all by myself, and take pride in that. Lastly, courage. Emerson finds courage in a few different ways throughout this book until she gets to her happily ever after with Baz. I find myself lacking in courage often but like Emerson, am learning to grab onto it when it appears and use it when I need to.

Getting to and finishing the last page in this book was hard not because of anything negative, but because I really didn't want to leave Emerson and Baz. If this book was twice as long and they went through twice as much, I would still want to read about it and kindly beg Melissa for an epilogue (extended), too.

I know we as readers often say that a book is our favourite, especially if its a new/recent release, but I can hand on heart say that this is up there in my top reads of the series. As I have read all but book two, its fair to say that this statement has been fairly made and once you pick up a copy and get to know Baz and Emerson, you'll soon see why these two--and what they went through--has a firm place in my bookish heart that won't be budging for the foreseeable future.

Thank you, Melissa, for creating this book and series for us to not only love but to love you even more for it.

Audiobook Review

Narrators: Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow
Narration Style: Dual
Length (at 1.0x speed): 12 h 5 min
Producer: Lyric Audiobooks

Tropes: Pregnant heroine, single parent, small town, biker family, close proximity, slow burn, fur babies, protective golden retriever hero (and he's a veterinarian!)

Narration: I don’t have much to say here, other than the fact that these two narrators are outstanding! It wasn’t my first time listening to Savannah Peachwood, and it won’t be my last. She nails her performances every time, and I can’t wait to listen to more audiobooks narrated by her. It was, however, my first time listening to Aiden Snow. I loved the deep timbre of his voice, and his audio acting talent. I’ll be sure to check out more audiobooks narrated by him as well. Both narrators nailed the other characters roles, and didn’t make the dual narration awkward at all.

Book Review: This was the type of book that is just easy to listen to and not stress too much about. The characters communicated with each other like mature adults with hardly any miscommunication (and if there was, they solved it very quickly), everyone in the community was so supportive, and there weren’t really any problems. It was a good roadmap for what a good relationship with a good support system could look like. Because of that, I occasionally felt a little bored with the story. However, I did like the romance between the two love interests. They were cute! if you are a reader that tends to just want to enjoy the story and not have a lot of anxiety while you’re reading, this book could really work for you. One other thing to note – this book is written in third person. I actually like third person writing, but this could throw other people off, so I wanted to add that information into my review because it’s less common to see that writing style in contemporary romance (that’s not sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, etc.).

Thank you to Melissa Foster, Lyric Audiobooks, and Must Love Audio for an advance listening copy of the audiobook. My review reflects my own thoughts and opinions about the audiobook.

4.5✨

What an apt title because Baz was wickedly sweet, wickedly swoony, wickedly filthy and everything in between.

I mean first chapter in, Melissa was trying to bring me to my knees. A man who falls first will always steal my heart instantly. Baz was a goner on sight and I loved it. His overprotectiveness went into overdrive and I wasn’t even mad at it. His heart was stolen two times over and the preciousness of it did me in. Starting all over is never easy, but add on a new town and baby? Emerson was resilience personified. Her sharp wit kept Baz on his toes and made for such fun banter between them.

The excitement I felt knowing the love bug was gearing up to bite these two hard! The giddiness that filled me watching them fall. One of my favorite things was the way the Wicked family rallied together for Emerson and her new baby. It just warmed my spirit and made me smile so hard. It was beautiful to see.
Baz and Emerson’s story was one that I loved every minute of and ended way too soon.

Melissa Foster is becoming a new favorite when it comes to MC romances. The heart. The heat. The humor. The found family. The emotions. Just all the feels. She makes me want to hop right in and live inside her worlds.

Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood were absolutely fantastic. Their performance magnified the passion, chemistry, emotion and love these two shared. I couldn’t have dreamed a more perfect pair for Baz and Emerson.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review."Talk Wicked to Me" is the captivating sixth installment in Melissa Foster's "The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside" series. Melissa Foster once again enchants with a heartwarming tale set in a charming small town, weaving a narrative of found family and romance. This book is a perfect pick for those who love romances that spotlight single mothers, endearing infants, and heroes with a protective streak. It's sure to delight readers looking for all the feels of a cozy, romantic escape.

"Talk Wicked to Me" tells the story of Baz Wicked, a Dark Knights Bayside chapter member and veterinarian, and Emerson Lockhart, an editor who's eight months pregnant and new resident of Bayside. Emerson's move was all about starting fresh and finding a secure environment to raise her baby. What she didn't anticipate was the dashing veterinarian Baz, who would unexpectedly come to her aid, delivering her baby by the roadside.

Fans of the series are no strangers to Baz, having met him in earlier installments. "Talk Wicked to Me" delves into the backstory of this beloved veterinarian and Dark Knights member, shedding light on his life with the detail fans crave.

Baz is currently uninterested in pursuing a relationship. His dedication to his veterinary practice and his role as a Dark Knight consume all his time. Moreover, he's planning to travel to Indonesia to join a veterinary program akin to Doctors Without Borders, leaving no room for serious romantic commitments. However, Emerson Lockhart enters the scene, a woman who might just make him reconsider his priorities.

Emerson never planned on having a baby.  However, she finds herself eight months pregnant and moving to a town filled with strangers. She's resolved to be independent and keep her distance from others. Having experienced devastating loss in the past she has no intention of getting close to anyone. However, Baz and the rest of the Wickeds wouldn't allow her to go it alone. Although she didn't make it easy for them.

The first encounter between Baz and Emerson is the kind that leaves readers grinning widely. From the get-go, they were utterly captivated by one another. The bond between them deepened profoundly when Baz assisted in the birth of Emerson's baby. It was heartwarming to witness the Wickeds welcome Emerson with open arms. Baz commitment to Emerson from the start endeared him to the reader, and as a pair, they were simply perfect. Their love story is so touching it could melt even the iciest heart.

Foster masterfully captures the nuances of grief.  She crafted with skill and sensitivity the scenes detailing Emerson's path to self-forgiveness and her release from the pain of loss.

"Talk Wicked to Me" is a wonderful addition to the "Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside" series. Fans of small-town romance featuring single mothers and found families will delight in this new release from Melissa Foster. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

I love Melissa’s writing, and this one is a new favorite of mine from her. From the beginning, it’s a fun, sweet, addictive story. Baz is a hot veterinarian on a motorcycle, so obviously the perfect book boyfriend. Emerson is new in town, and single, and about to have a baby any second. They have one of the best meet cutes (I always love when a dog is to blame). Their attraction and chemistry is immediate, but they develop the cutest friendship that turns into the best slow burn. The way he was there for her will definitely have you affected!! It was the sweetest. I loved how their relationship evolved, and the connection they had.
Baz and Emerson are both fantastic characters, easy to relate to, and their story will have you laughing, crying, and feeling all the feels (the ladybugs really got me 🥹). It was lighthearted and humorous while still dealing with serious issues, grief, and struggles. And the side characters!! The Wicked family is amazing, you don’t want to miss out on them.

The audiobook is narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow, and they were the perfect voices for Emerson and Baz. Listening to them made me love this book even more, they brought out all the emotions and then some, and gave amazing performances! Produced by Lyric Audiobooks! @savannahpeachwood @aidensnowvoice

Okay, so this book touched my heart in ways I wasn’t expecting. Even though I’m not a mom, I was able to relate to Emerson in a lot of ways, and I thought she was the absolute sweetest person and a fantastic mom, even when she was doubting herself.

And Baz! My gosh, this man was utterly swoony all the time, and I loved seeing that from him. He fell fast for Emerson and her son, Brennan, and his relationship with them both was part of what made the book so unputdownable.

Baz and Em had this amazing connection from the very beginning, and I loved that Baz and his entire family were there for Emerson and Brennan because she hadn’t experienced that kind of love and care in a long time because of something that happened in her past.

This book had some sad and angsty moments for sure (I actually cried during certain scenes), but it was also very heartfelt and genuine while also being lighthearted and hilarious. I highly recommend “Talk Wicked to Me” to anyone who loves small town romances and/or the single mom trope!

Emerson and Baz had quite the first meeting, but that was nothing compared to the second meeting! It seemed like there was a connection right from the start. I also loved that Emerson found Baz and the Wicked's when she did, she really needed them and their way of folding people into the family and the whole it takes a village way of life.

It was fun to see Emerson and Baz fall for each other, to see how they each appreciated the other. I really loved how Baz was able to help Emerson come to terms with what happened to her parents and how he was able to bring them back to her in a way.

The ending for this couple was perfect! Loved that Baz got to keep his promise and got his family. Not loving the phone call at the end, good thing I have the next book ready to go.

A dirty talking biker that isn’t a criminal and has a heart of gold? Yes please!

A dirty talking biker was narrated by Aiden Snow? Holy Hell! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Both of these characters were adorable; they were sweet and Emerson had such realistic insecurities that she was incredibly relatable. Baz was there to answer her insecurities with positive affirmations the whole way and it was sweet.

Narration 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

This book was so sweet. It felt like a very natural progression of a friendship to a relationship. Although, the whole time I was thinking, “why is he getting so close when he knows he’s leaving?” It was very low conflict. A good palate cleanser. I did love seeing big biker Baz basically turning to mush over Emerson, Brennen, and Ollie.

Aiden and Savannah did amazing with this narration. They’ve done previous narrations for this series as well and they’re just as fabulous. This series is written in third person and Melissa is probably the only author who I can look past it for.

2.5 rounded up to 3

It’s never a good sign when a book takes me more than two days to read lol. I just didn’t connect to these characters. There are also sooo many side characters. I hated that the H had a girl best friend, a girl best friend that he had been attracted to and kissed before 😖. Thankfully they didn’t hang out alone in this book, but it bugged me nonetheless.
And then the baby’s bio da showing up In the end and the h acts like the H was unimportant and brushed him to the side a little bit. Not for long, but it still annoyed me because of how much he did for her and the baby. And the scenes with the bio dad were both off page and recounted later! It was annoying, and clearly showed that the author was ready to be don with the book. Which is annoying considering I paid almost $7 for this book 🙄

Talk Wicked to Me
Dark Knight’s at Bayside • Book 6

🎧Narrated By: Aiden Snow @aidensnowvoice and Savannah Peachwood @savannahpeachwood

Who doesn’t love a fiercely protective man offering anything you need to make your life easier and a FMC soon to be mama who is fiercely independent?? When Emerson Lockhart finds herself in the veterinarian’s office for her sweet pup she doesn’t realize that the charming veterinarian is about to turn her quiet secluded life upside down. At 8 months pregnant, determined to take care of herself she’s not about to let Baxter ‘Baz’ Wicked in. That is till she finds herself in an emergency and Baz is the only one around. Mr. Baz Wicked is a charmer, a protector, a caregiver and when the town’s favorite bachelor runs into the single about to be a new mom who just moved to town, Emerson becomes his too priority. Talk Wicked to Me narrated in dual by Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood is a fun, sexy, small town romance with a little bad boy edge to it and Aiden Snow narrates Baz perfectly to express the charmer he is yet the protective alpha we all love. Savannah narrates Emerson showcasing her independent side, being stern and a mater of fact yet expresses her walls dropping when she realizes it’s okay to trust people to stick around and support you.

What to Expect:

- Protective, Golden Retriever Hero
- Pregnant Heroine/Single Mom
- Strangers to Lovers
- He Falls First
- Slow Burn
- Found Family

Talk Wicked to Me is my first book by Melissa Foster. I devoured this story. This was my introduction to the Wicked family, and I absolutely need more. I am hooked, and this story left me with the biggest smile on my face. Baxter “Baz” Wicked is a sexy, motorcycle-riding veterinarian. Emerson is new in town and about to welcome a child. After her dog eats some chocolate cookies, Emerson rushes to the vet clinic, where she meets Baz. They are instantly attracted to one another, but Baz is leaving soon to volunteer in Indonesia with Veterinarians Without Borders.

I loved Baz and Emerson together. Everyone needs a Baz in their lives. This man is perfect. Although he is a little pushy sometimes (he means well), he is swoony, protective, and thoughtful. Baz and Emerson are wonderful characters, and I loved the development of their slow-burn romance. Their story is an emotional rollercoaster, but it is incredibly heartwarming and healing. The found family element was top-tier. Baz’s family approached Emerson with open arms, giving her the sense of home she desperately needed. Talk Wicked to Me is well written, has great character development, and is a super sweet and memorable love story. I can't wait to read more about the Wicked family.

Narration:
Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow delivered stellar performances in this third-person dual-style narration. They perfectly captured the essence of their characters. Savannah has an amazing range, and I loved her male voice. Aiden's deep and growly voice flawlessly fit Baz's alpha yet warm personality. Their ability to convey all the emotions elicited by this story elevated my listening experience.

Thanks to Melissa Foster, Lyric Audiobooks, and Must Love Audio for the gifted audiobook. Opinions expressed are my own.

Quotes I loved:

“You blew into my life like a tornado, and you became my wind. Let me be the man who writes you love letters and makes all your dreams come true.”

"You weren’t lost, darlin’. You just didn’t know you were on a journey to find us."

Talk Wicked To Me is Melissa Foster’s 7th and latest addition to her Wicked Dark Knights at Bayside series. As with all of her books that involve the Dark Knights whether they be Wickeds or Whiskeys, our male protagonist Baz Wicked is tall, ruggedly handsome, an alpha male with a heart of gold, and as you’d probably guess from the title has a dirty mouth between the sheets. He also has avoided any deep romantic relationships since his college sweetheart broke his heart. That is until he meets the woman whom his heart refuses to ignore. In this story that woman is Emmerson Lockhart. Emerson is also a typical C.R. female protagonist. She’s beautiful inside and out, intelligent and with the right man (Baz) lusty. With the Dark Knights stories there are plenty of other club members both related by blood and by heart around to support our two main protagonists. And Melissa Foster isn’t the least bit shy about including cameos by other characters from earlier series as well as this one. This series being based on Cape Cod where many of her other series are centered upon there is an endless list of familiar characters from other series who pop into this and her other books. Also, holding to the unwritten rule of contemporary romances our two protagonists share their dreams, their fears, their bodies becoming emotionally and physically intimate long before either feels it’s the right time to say those three little words, “I love you.” I guess the theory is if you aren’t going to make your readers wait for the big first sex scene you should make them wait for the professions of love. Otherwise, unless the story involves suspense and danger there really isn’t any reason to keep reading until the end of the book.
As our story opens Emerson Lockhart, nine months pregnant comes rushing into Baz’s veterinary clinic panicked because her beloved dog Ollie scarfed down a chocolate cookie she’d left on the console of her car. Baz is immediately attracted to Emerson in a way that he hasn’t been with all the other women he has been with or have tried to be with him in his thirty-some years. Which he quickly tries to shutdown because he’s planning on going to Indonesia in a few months for four months working with Veterinarians Without Walls. Four months, not four years hardly seems to me like a long enough time to avoid exploring a relationship with someone you feel a definite spark with for the first time in your life. A woman whose nine months pregnant with another unknown man’s baby maybe, but a four-month trip abroad seems like a weak excuse to me. But that’s Baz’s story and he’s sticking to it. And it sticks to it long after it made no sense to me or his family. Anyway, Baz checks out Ollie and assures Emmerson he’s fine. Then he gives her his business card with his cellphone number on it and tells her to call him if she believes Ollie is acting sick. And tells himself he ‘s not going to think about the attractive, very pregnant seeming hot mess that he can’t’ get out of his head. He even decides to go on a long run to help him forget about her. But as fate would have it he hears a dog frantically barking while on his run. Rushing to the sound of the dog he finds Ollie standing beside Emmerson who is on all fours on the ground in full blown labor. Baz delivers her baby boy and from that point on can’t resist inserting himself in Emmerson and Brennan her newborn son’s lives. Staying with her in the hospital and practically moving in with them after he brings them home from the hospital. He even enlists his brothers and other Dark Knights to help make a few improvements in her property to make things safer for them.
Emmerson really doesn’t know what to make of all of Baz’s unsolicited help? She had lost her beloved parents when she was only sixteen years old. She spent the next couple of years living with her best friend and her parents whose father was her father’s business partner in their highly successful N.Y.C. law firm. And while her friends parents took care of all of her material needs, unlike her own parents, they were rather cold and distant to Emmerson as well as their own daughter. Despite years of therapy, Emmerson now 28 years old has put up walls not allowing anyone other than her BFF to get close to her. Because she fears loving and losing someone. Well, she obviously allowed her baby’s father Marco to get close to her, but not in an emotional sense. By the time Emmerson discovered she was pregnant she and Marco had broken up and he was with someone else who wasn’t emotionally closed off. He told her he had no interest in being a father to a child of someone he only had a brief casual relationship with. What a prince! This suited Emmerson just fine as thanks to her parents estate she was totally financially independent even though like her mother she worked as a self-employed book editor.
Well anyway, back to our story. Baz is not only always on hand to support Emmerson and her newborn son despite her insistence she didn’t need any help, he also introduces her to his loving family who immediately adopts her and does what they can to support her. It doesn’t take long before Emmerson is getting feels for Baz. But of course, having just given birth she really can’t do anything about it. And Baz, still clinging to that “I’m going to be gone for 4 months” excuse tries to keep a little distance between them even though he’s acting like the most supportive domestic partner and father that a girl could ask for. Which leaves Emmerson unsure of Baz’s feelings for her. Eventually all the close proximity and shared heated looks forces Baz to act on his attraction to Emmerson. One kiss and their attraction explodes like wildfire. Yet despite their deep emotional and physical relationship, despite both of them promising to be faithful to one another and fully integrating themselves into each other’s lives, it takes what seems like forever before Baz finally utters those three little words that set them both free. Before that momentous moment the tension builds as the clock ticks towards Baz’s time to leave. He’s torn now between the promise he made years ago to someone close to his heart to take this much delayed trip or to stay in Bayside to support Emmerson and Brennan. There’s also a lot of emotional scenes in this story as Baz and his mom Ginger help Emmerson deal with her feelings of guilt associated with her parents’ deaths.
If you love Melissa Foster stories or even if you just like romances involving bikers with hearts of gold and the women they fall for, you’ll love this book.

I absolutely loved Talk Wicked to Me by Melissa Foster; it is an incredible love at first sight love story. It is the sixth book in her The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series. I love series and am looking forward to reading other books in the series. Melissa Foster has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I love that she continues to write the books that I love to read and is a must-read author for me. It was impossible to put Talk Wicked to Me down and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? One of my favorite parts is that I love how the title of the book is incorporated into the love story. Talk Wicked to Me is the story of Emerson Lockhart, book editor and single mother of newborn son, Brennan and dirty talking Baxter “Baz” Wicked, veterinarian at the Wicked Animal Rescue. Emerson’s dog, Ollie, ate part of her chocolate chip cookie and she ran him into Baz’s veterinarian office while she is nine months pregnant. Later while on his run after work, Baz comes across Emerson in active labor. Baz calls his brothers and 911 and assists Emerson. Baz ends up assisting Emerson as she gives birth to her son on the side of the road. I love that Emerson chose a name that honored both her parents who died when she was a teenager. My favorite part of the story is how Baz gets his family to set-up the nursery for Emerson while she is in the hospital and unpacks the rest of her moving boxes, except the boxes marked “personal” since she just moved to town. I love the significance of the desk that they moved into Emerson’s house. Emerson chose Cape Cod because she remembers vacationing there as a child. Initially, Emerson is overwhelmed by all the Wickeds and all their love. As Emerson, Brennan, and Baz spend more time together things change between them. Conversation between Baz and Emerson flows so easily, with innuendos and naughty banter, with dirty talking Baz constantly flirting with Emerson causing her to blush. I love that they each share secrets with one another that they never shared with anyone before. Emerson shares secrets about what happened to her parents the night they died, and Baz shares secrets about how the death of his little sister, Ashley, and a past relationship in college have impacted him and his life. Emerson and Baz both have issues with trust. As they spend time together, Baz begins to have feelings for Emerson and the Wickeds have embraced her and her cookie baking skills. Neither Emerson nor Baz is looking for a relationship or love, Emerson has been disappointed from past relationships and now only wants to focus on Brennan since he is the only family she has, and Baz does not do relationships after what happened to him in college. I love it when Emerson remembers visiting Baz’s cat condo while on vacation the rocks with messages her and her parents left behind. One of my favorite parts is when Baz watches Brennan so that Emerson can attend the women’s book club. I love the book they chose to read. I love the songs selected throughout the story. A plot twist puts their relationship in jeopardy and causes their first fight, but I love the outcome of the plot twist. I love everything that Baz does for both Emerson and Brennan, especially the “Mom and Me” photo shoot that Baz arranged with Madigan’s help, and how he encourages her to explore a cookie baking business. I love that Baz and Emerson finally admit their true feelings for one another. I love the ending of their love story, the surprise revealed, and how it sets up the next book. I love how both Baz and Emerson change because of their love for one another, especially how Emerson realizes she is not alone. I love that Emerson she finally opens the boxes marked “personal” and how she finally gets some closure on how parents death and her own guilt, make sure you have Kleenex nearby. I love the video chats that swoon worthy, Baz sets up for Emerson to learn more about the kind of people her parents were and what she learns about herself. I think dirty talking Baz might be my favorite Wicked. I love Baz’s proposal and when and where it takes place and the surprise that Emerson reveals to him. I love that Baz goes to Indonesia with Veterinarians Without Borders, a trip he has been putting off for years, even though his father, brothers, and cousins disagree with his decision because of a promise he made to someone. It was heartbreaking to learn who he made the promise to. I love how all the Wickeds come to support Emerson and Brennan, that Emerson finally accepts their love, and how Baz’s parents refer to themselves as “Grandpa” and “Granny.” I loved the heart-to-heart conversation that Emerson has with Baz’s grandfather, Mike, and his four rules you need to know. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Talk Wicked to Me is a love at first sight love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. Talk Wicked to Me is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Melissa Foster did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love how Melissa Foster always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy biker. Talk Wicked to Me is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Talk Wicked to Me the characters feel like family and friends. It felt like a family reunion, catching up with the other characters in the series. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Wicked siblings and cousins, and Emerson’s interactions with them, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love that Emerson finally has girlfriends. I loved all the characters in Talk Wicked to Me, especially Junie and Rosie. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Talk Wicked to Me. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

Emerson and Baz (Baxter) have the sweetest of meet-cutes when she rushes into his veterinary clinic all worried about her dog, who has ingested a chocolate cookie. Baz knows he shouldn't find a patient so beautiful, a pregnant one no less, but he can't help it. But it's when he finds her later on the side of the road, in labor that their connection is really formed. Now his protective instincts have been activated, and Emerson, her new son Brennan, and her dog are folded into his and his family's welcoming arms. He's going to keep them there forever if she lets him.

Since losing her parents, Emerson has learned she can only lean on herself, do things for and by herself. So moving to this small town to start over and give her soon to come baby a safe place to be raised, seems like the perfect move. And it is, because she meets Baz Wicked and the man wants to be all hers, if she lets him. She can't seem to resist him and his loving family, and she's finally realizing she can trust and be part of a family again.

Baz Wicked is positively delicious, and he finally meets the woman to bring him to his knees and bring out all his protective instincts. I've long been wondering about him and who would be the lucky person to capture his heart, and Melissa penned the most perfect partner for him possible. Emerson is so amazing. She is so strong and has such a huge heart and was just waiting for someone to come along and see that in her. Their chemistry is HOT, but it's their emotional connection and their heart that I really love. If I thought the Wickeds were a great family before, after reading Baz and Emerson's love story, I think they're even more perfect.

even tho i’m only 240 pages in this has felt like the longest book ever. I like the idea but he was so pushy (and his whole family) and i’m glad evie or whatever her name is told him to back off because holy shit. they got together straight away, even if not officially, so i have no motivation to continue which is annoying considering i spent £6 for a kindle book 🫠
also pregnant heroine shouldn’t even be in the synopsis because we barely saw her pregnant as she had the baby so early on

"You weren’t lost, darlin’. You just didn’t know you were on a journey to find us."
Take a perfect hero, add a heroine and a little boy who were always meant to be his, and you have… Love. All the love that matters.
This book will stick with me for a long time, and I’m more than fine with that.

"There was something so beautifully real about her, he was having trouble looking away."
I felt a unique connection to Emerson, maybe because she’s an editor. Maybe because she’s still processing grief from her past and learning to navigate life. Maybe because she’s mostly on her own. Maybe all of the above. But she made me feel so much, and I loved her for it.

"I’ve never met anyone like you."
"That’s not surprising. I am one of a kind."
"It’s a good thing you’re not cocky about it."

Baz Wicked. I can’t even. He’s not perfect in the sense that he’s prince charming. He’s perfect because he’s real, because he’s there, because he cares, because he opens his arms and heart to two people who needed him, without knowing they’ll change his life.

"Don’t be silly. I never turn away animals in need or the pretty pregnant women who feed them cookies."
I guess we have Ollie to thank for bringing Baz and Emerson together. He accidentally eats some chocolate chip cookies, and a very pregnant Em makes her way to Baz’s clinic to make sure nothing’s wrong with her pup. There isn’t. What there is is a kind of longing that can’t be faked between them. She stirs up something in him, and she can’t stop thinking about the handsome vet either.

"Oh. Well, Baz. Meet my vagina, which, after seeing this, will surely ruin you for all other women, and for that I’m sorry."
"I birth animals every day, sweetheart. It’s nothing I haven’t seen before."

Em’s all alone in town, so when she goes into labor, fate lends a hand. Because Baz just happens to be out on his run. He’s there for her. He delivers her baby amidst words of tenderness and encouragement, jokes, and some innuendo. It’s so much fun between them, but there’s also this sense of… belonging that will stay with you until the end of the book.

"I haven’t been able to get this woman out of my head since she blew into my office Friday afternoon. She’s right there. In every thought, like the wind when we ride, and I can’t fucking escape it."
While Baz shouldn’t be getting involved, he can’t stop himself. He’s at the hospital, he’s offering to help, he’s everything Emerson and Brennan, her son, deserve in life. And while he isn’t Brennan’s father, that doesn’t really matter. It never did, from the first time he held him in his arms.

"The people we meet, the people we help, and the ones who help us, are family, too. I believe we’re brought together for a reason."
When you get one Wicked, you get the whole family. They’re as protective as they come, but they’re also the family I wish I belonged to. The instant love that surrounds Em and her baby meant everything, and they all had me tearing up too.

"Listen to me, Em. Hear me. You are head and shoulders above any woman I’ve ever known in every way. Got it?"
They become impossibly close. There are smiles and smirks and touches, small promises of what could be if they allowed it to. And then there’s the “fuck it” moment I love so much. Because Baz can’t take one more minute without kissing her and letting her know what she means to him. Without settling her insecurities and showing her what he’s feeling.

"Stroke me like you own me."
I loved them together. I loved the way he loves her—all of her. The physical connection is strong, and Baz lives up to his last name with his wicked mouth. But don’t think for a second that Em’s not right there with him. She knows what she wants, and Baz is more than happy to oblige. It was hot and romantic and beautiful all at once.

"Haven’t you figured out yet that there’s nothing I won’t do to see that smile?"
Another big part of this book is learning how to handle grief, and I have tears in my eyes writing this. Not handling it in the sense of letting go and forgetting—I mean living with it. Remembering everything that was amazing about the people you once had in your life, celebrating it and them, and knowing they made you better. And hoping you’re making them proud.
I wonder about that every day myself too.

"Thank you."
"I think I should be the one thanking you."
"For loving me."

Like many of Melissa’s stories, this felt very real, and she doesn’t shy away from pregnancy stuff. Like many of Melissa’s stories, there’s no third-act breakup either. There are a few things they need to deal with and that they will overcome because, with a connection like theirs, how could they not? And there were lots of my favorite small moments that made this book one of those that will always hold a place in my heart.

"You blew into my life like a tornado, and you became my wind. Let me be the man who writes you love letters and makes all your dreams come true."
I believe that Baz, Emerson, and Brennan found each other because they had to. I believe they found the kind of home—the strength, the courage, the safety, the love—they needed. A place and people where they belong.
And I feel like I found my own kind of home in this book too.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Talk Wicked To Me is a heartwarming motorcycle romance that focuses on love and positivity. It does deal with some real life issues that are difficult for the characters and readers alike, who have experienced those things, to talk about. Family is key in this story, which is so nice to see. Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow do a wonderful job narrating this story. These two deliver a wonderful performance. If you like heart, wit, spice, banter, protectiveness, thoughtfulness, and an abundance of love, then this book is for you!

Baxter ‘Baz’ Wicked may be a veterinarian and member of the motorcycle club with his dashing bad boy looks, but he is a walking green flag. Right from the moment Emerson Lockhart barrels into his vet clinic he is charmed by her, doing everything he can to make her feel comfortable and take care of her needs. Emerson is new to town, a pregnant mother trying to make it on her own at the Cape cottage she and her parents used to frequent when she was growing up. What she didn’t expect was the hot vet to not only take care of her dog, but also help her out in a bit of a pickle on the side of the road.

From that moment on Baz and his family are Emerson’s support system, one she didn’t know she wanted or needed. Every single move he makes is with Emerson and Little B in mind. The problem is, no relationship can start since Baz will be leaving the country. Feelings grow, swirling in and around each of them. Baz’s future and Emerson’s past keep each of them from pursuing what they feel between them. It’s sweet to see how attentive and caring Baz, Emerson, and really the who community is. This story is like being wrapped in a warm blanket of love.

This audiobook is in a third person dual narration style, performed by Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow. Both of them do a fabulous job narrating this story. I devoured it in two days because I enjoyed hearing their narration so much! Snow’s growls?! 🫠 Each time I hear either of them narrate I know the book is going to be good, when they are paired together? *chef’s kiss* They are a fantastic duo!

Talk Wicked To Me is my first Melissa Foster book. Foster and Must Love Audio were gracious enough to let me listen to and narrate this audiobook. I did buy the ebook so I could eyeball read along! I’m glad I did because there were some great lines to highlight, and it was really helpful to see the family tree in the beginning of the book. This book is part of an interconnected series, but can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the other books but I didn’t feel I was missing information, Foster did a great job of filling in any gaps. Reading the rest of the series would definitely give you more background and depth of the characters though!

🐾“If I’m Adonis, then you’re my Aphrodite. My goddess of love.”
🧁“I need my mouth on you. I want to feel you lose control and taste your c*** on my tongue.”

4.25stars- TALK WICKED TO ME is the sixth instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside erotic, romance series set in the author’s numerous interconnected series. This is thirty-four year old, veterinarian Dr. Baxter ‘Baz’ Wicked, and editor / single mother Emerson Lockhart’s story line. TALK WICKED TO ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Several characters cross over from, or are mentioned from the other series.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Baz and Emerson TALK WICKED TO ME follows the building relationship between our story line couple. Emerson Lockhart is nine months pregnant, single and her dog is in need of emergency care. Enter Dr. Baz Wicked, a veterinarian, a member of the Dark Knights MC, and the man with whom Emerson will fall in love but within hours, Emerson would find herself giving birth on the side of the road with only Dr. Baz Wicked around to help. From the outset Baz takes control of the situation, and without family or support, Emerson will become ensconced in the Wicked family dynamic, at times fearing for the direction of her future. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Baz and Emerson, and the potential fall-out as Baz has volunteered for a mission overseas, and Emerson’s past returns in the hopes of making things right.

The world building is detailed and meticulous, following several paths including a recap of some previous events, and tight family connections; Emerson’s losses and need for forgiveness; the Wicked family’s grief and their need to pay it forward; and the possibility of heart break for our story line couple. The large extended Wicked family becomes both a curse and a blessing for our story line heroine, at times, her entire life controlled by the over protective nature of the family but Emerson needs help, and in this, the Wickeds are quick to jump in when they are needed the most.

The relationship between Baz and Emerson is one of immediate attraction but Emerson is alone and pregnant, and Baz is determined to become guardian and protector of the woman with whom he will fall in love. Falling quickly for our story line heroine, Baz finds himself at a crossroads when his time to go overseas may threaten the fragility of their growing love. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, as per Melissa Foster’s style of writing, there is a large ensemble cast of familiar, friendly, and helpful secondary and supporting characters. Some of the previous story line premises are addressed, in an effort to keep both the reader and our heroine aware of the background and histories.

TALK WICKED TO ME is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love, grief and understanding. The premise is intriguing, captivating and inviting yet I had to question the author’s turn of events regarding Baz’s trip overseas knowing the potential dangers for terrorism and violence but such is the nature of the ‘fictional’ story line. The romance is seductive, edgy and passionate; the characters are spirited and energetic. TALK WICKED TO ME ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

This series just gets better and better. Baz is the charming and fun loving veterinarian brother with a big heart. Emerson, the new girl to town, is HUGELY pregnant the day they meet when she takes her dog to the vet because he ate her chocolate chip cookie! (Their meet was so cute! She meets Baz with food stains and crumbs all over her clothes and bits of lettuce in her hair! Lol!)

This story sucked me in right from the beginning with Emerson being a mess and Baz being charmed by her messiness and her out of control dog. A few hours later as Baz can’t get her off his mind and he’s out for a run, he sees her on the side of the road and ends up delivering her baby! Emerson had pulled off the road with strong contractions, couldn’t get her phone out from under the seat to call for help and stays there having debilitating contractions. Baz finds her like that, goes to help and ultimately delivers her baby. Poor Emerson sees the hot doc from earlier and has to strip off her shorts so he can deliver her baby! Can you imagine? From the first time Baz holds baby Brennan in his arms, he is fast in love with this little guy and jumps right in to help take care of everything for Emerson, including introducing his family and friends to them.

This story just wrapped me up in a huge hug right from the beginning with the love that Baz had for Emerson, Brennen and Ollie. Their relationship was centered on friendship, loyalty and a courtship where Baz shows Emerson how special both she and Brennan are to him. It was simply magical. These are two people who are genuinely good even though they are both trying to deal with strong baggage.

Emerson wants to be a really good mom while she is still dealing with the death of her parents and Baz is a loyal and protective true-blue sweetheart. His family and friends rally around the new mom and their genuine acts of kindness and caring are almost too much for her to bear but Ginger Wicked is a BOSS! She takes Emerson under her wing and gives her all the motherly love that she is missing and that she needs.

From the beginning, the story is full of goodness and love. I just couldn’t get enough. I was simply blown away by Baz’s heart and loyalty. All the Wickeds are great people, but Baz just floats to the top for me. Everything he did, said and thought was with Emerson’s best interests in mind. Watching Emerson blossom under Baz’s love and watching her confidence grow was beautiful. The more confident she became in herself and as a mother meant that she could give back to Baz and he grew too. She gave him the courage to carry out a life long promise made to his late sister.

This emotional story has it all: sweetness, kindness, sexiness, charm, family, friends and dimples! It is also about honoring those who’ve been lost, keeping them with us and deciding whether to risk our heart again. It has the usual found family, pranks, banter, heat, heart and steam that we’ve all come to love and expect from a Melissa Foster story. Bravo Ms. Foster for an amazing story - can’t wait for the next one!

This is book six in The Wickeds : Dark Knights at Bayside series and it is Baz and Emerson’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Baz is a vet and also with The Dark Knights who help people when they need it so he was always busy and now too keep a promise he made to someone that is so important to him he will be going away for 4 months with the veterinarian without borders which is something that he had wanted to do for years but kept putting it off because it wasn’t the right time so now with everything being more settled and stable he was excited to be able to now go even though he will miss his family and friends because they all mean so much to him. Emerson is alone and due to have her baby but when her dog Ollie needs to go to the vets because of something he had eaten she definitely didn’t expect to meet the most handsome man and who was also really great with her dog, while Emerson was taking Ollie for a walk on the beach she suddenly went into labour and it was Baz that found her and kept her calm while delivering her son Brennan on the side of the road and that caused them all to have a strong and unique connection and bond. The more time that Baz and Emerson spent together the harder and stronger there feelings for each other grows but with Baz going away and Emerson trying to be self sufficient and do everything herself because she doesn’t want to get too close to anyone in case she loses them so this made things a bit difficult for them all but sometimes that person is put in front of you too not only make your life easier but also to make your life better. Wow this book will certainly take you on a rollercoaster ride of so many different emotions and I cried so many times with everything that they had all gone through in there lives. When the right person for you comes into your life take that person in your hands and heart and hang on tight and definitely don’t let them go because they have been put in your life for a reason. Baz and Emerson were so perfect together and for each other and the love and connection that Baz had for Brennan was so sweet and it melted your heart with how protective he was for not only Emerson but also Brennan and there dog Ollie because this just shows what a amazing man Baz really was and he was definitely my hero. I absolutely love this book so much and I couldn’t put it down because not only did the story pull you in and kept your attention throughout but it also was so addictive that I read it in one sitting and then you get the amazing family and friends that were always there at the drop of a hat to help, be supportive, do everything possible, be protective but still let that person be independent which is so important. Melissa Foster is an inspiration and incredible author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading and will bring all of your emotions out so make sure that you have the tissues ready because you are definitely going to need them and I can’t wait to read more books in the future.

Talk Wicked to Me (The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside Book #6) (Love in Bloom Book #91) by Melissa Foster.
The Love in Bloom series proved to be a heartwarming journey through love, family, and personal growth. Spanning multiple interconnected series/stories, it offers a wonderful blend of romance, humor, and emotional depth that kept me reading the whole way through.
Ms. Foster crafted fully developed, relatable, and multidimensional characters who added an extra element of emotion and interest to my overall reading experience. The heroes are fiercely loyal and endearing, while the heroines are smart, empowered, and refreshingly ‘real’. Each character feels like someone you could know in real life, making their struggles and triumphs, high and lows, all the more impactful.
The stories have a perfect balance of steamy romance mixed with heartfelt moments. But that doesn’t mean that Ms. Foster shies away from exploring deeper themes like forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships – adding dynamic layers to the storyline/s. But, despite the emotional depth, the series still maintains more of a lighthearted charm, sprinkled with humor and tender family connections.
While each novel can be read as a standalone, there is an interconnectedness with the recurring characters and overlapping storylines - which help create a sense of community that feels warm and inviting. It’s like being welcomed into a big, loving family where everyone has a worthwhile story to tell.
‘Within the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection you'll find fiercely loyal heroes and smart, empowered women on their search for true love. They're flawed, funny, and easy to relate to. Characters from each series appear in future Love in Bloom books…’
If you are a fan of contemporary romance or simply looking for a feel-good series to escape into, this series is a worthwhile binge read…

Talk Wicked to Me is book 6 in The Wickeds series and I am having a hard time not drooling over Baz the Spaz.

Talk Wicked to Me starts with Emerson rushing in to Baz's veterinary clinic with her dog, who ate her chocolate chip cookie. Realize she is ready to pop a baby out and is harried over her dog, her pregnancy and everything else she needs to still get done before she has the baby. I had to laugh at the lettuce in her hair and the crumbs on her shirt. I mean, how many people can say they have never had crumbs on their shirt or food in places it does not belong on them?

Anyways, Baz gives Ollie, the dog, a clean bill of health. But there is something about Emerson that has piqued his interest.

Emerson never wanted children. But when she finds out she is pregnant, she decides she wants the baby. She has been alone for a long time and maybe the baby will help her not feel so alone. What she does not expect is to have such a strong reaction to the town vet.

Later that day, Baz decides to go on a run. On the last part of his loop, he sees Emerson's car on the side of the road. He goes over to check on her and boy is he in for a surprise. With no time to spare, she makes a phone call. Next thing we know, in rides family and Dark Knights. What a surprise for Emerson to see.

Baz falls in love with Little B, aka Brennan, from the moment he is born. But it is not just him. His entire family has fallen in love with Emerson and Little B. It is an adjustment for Emerson to have so much help after giving birth. For someone who has been alone for so long, she is used to doing everything on her own. But Gramma Gingy makes sure that both Em and Little B are taken care of.

When Emerson's past shows up unexpectedly, Baz goes caveman. Emerson is not able to handle this new side of him. So what will happen to these two? Will cooler heads prevail after both have had time to think about things?

During the Suicide Rally, when it is time for Tank, Gunner and Baz to talk about what their sister Ashley meant to them and share stories from their past, Cheeky, aka Rosie, refuses to let go of Papa Tank. I loved the way the entire family handled the situation. It was a first, and yet it was more meaningful. (Note: have tissues handy).

After the rally, Baz is getting ready to leave on his Vets Without Borders assignment. He is worried about Em and Little B, so he wants them to move in to his place, where she will have family close by. But she surprises him, again.

But hold your horses, there is one more shock coming at the end of the book. Be prepared. I gasped when I read it.

Talk Wicked To Me
By Melissa Foster

Rating: ★★★★ (4/5)

I just finished Talk Wicked to Me by Melissa Foster, part of The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series, and wow, what a ride! My first Melissa Foster read was His Wicked Ways (Blaine Wicked's story), and I was instantly hooked on the Wicked family, the Dark Knights, and the whole world they inhabit. I even went back to start the series from the very beginning because I just couldn’t get enough. Now that we're down to the last two brothers, Zander and Zeke, I’m practically counting the days until their stories come out!

Talk Wicked to Me is Baz’s story (Baxter Wicked), and it kicks off with a scene that pulled me in right away. Emerson, our heroine, rushes into Baz’s veterinary clinic right before closing, worried her dog, Ollie, might get sick after sneaking a cookie from her car. Oh, and did I mention Emerson is very pregnant? Baz is immediately drawn to her – her kindness, her love for her dog, her whole vibe. He’s even more interested when he finds out she’s single and new in town. Baz feels this magnetic pull toward Emerson, but he’s torn: can he really make a move on a very pregnant woman?

From their first meeting, fate seems determined to throw these two together. Baz, being the quintessential protective and caring guy, steps up for Emerson in ways that will melt your heart. He’s supportive, attentive, and genuinely wants to be there for her and her newborn son, Brennan. Emerson is captivated by Baz’s kindness and rugged charm but can’t shake her own insecurities as a new mom. She wonders if someone like him would be interested in her, postpartum body and all. Yet, Baz proves he’s not just any guy – he’s in it for the long haul.

The last 10-15% of this book had me in a whirlwind of “healing” tears and happy tears. Baz and Emerson each have their share of emotional scars, but they’re unwavering in supporting one another, helping each other heal and grow. Watching their relationship bloom was so rewarding. Plus, knowing Zander’s book is next had me smiling every time he popped up with his playful banter and shameless flirting. I highly recommend this book to any romance lover – it’s got heart, humor, and a love story you won’t want to end!

Book Name/Series: Talk Wicked to Me (The Wicked: Dark Knights at Bayside #6)
Author: Melissa Foster
Standalone?: Can be read as a standalone, but includes characters from other books.

4 Stars

My Opinion: I really enjoyed this book. I liked the main characters a lot and there were also some great secondary characters. I was a little worried how the author would handle Baz’s “vets without borders” trip, because I would have had an issue with both of the obvious choices: . However, it worked out and I liked the way it went: .
I had a minor issues though. I found that some of the sex scenes felt a little flat, and I just didn’t always feel the emotion between Baz and Emerson.

Hero: 5/5. I really liked Baz (34). He was such a sweetheart towards Emerson and her son, and I loved how he supported Emerson in whatever way he could.
Heroine: 4/5. Emerson (28) was great. She was strong and independent, but she also let Baz and his family help her when she was struggling.

POV: 3rd person POV (Baz and Emerson).

Push/Pull:

Sadness: 2/5.

Explicit Sex and Spice Level: Yes. 3/5.

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) Drama: No.

Separation:

Cheating: No.

Closure/Ending: HFN. I would have liked an epilogue further into the future.
