Though she dabbled in writing, she never anticipated being a published author. In 2019, she began selling her artwork and teaching art under the name Vellichor and More. Then in 2021, after a horrible season of healing from past traumas, she began writing The Great King and the Seer. Evidence of this journey is woven throughout the series as her characters learn to love, grow, and heal.
It is her hope that others who experience her craft will be captivated by her struggle. That they will be left feeling vulnerable and seen and maybe even understand themselves a little better. Or, at the very least, know for certain they are not alone in their suffering. Jessica never dreamed her life would end up this way, but she is so happy and so fortunate that God has allowed her this path.
Not only is she passionate about art and stories, she also enjoys movie nights with her boys, creating, adventuring, learning, sitting on her front porch chatting with friends, spending time with family, studying her bible, organizing, music, dancing, hiking, anime, kayaking, bubble baths, camping, board games, and sitting in a comfy seat with hot tea and a good book.

A great place to start
This book really helped me capture Arkaemor and some backstories of the characters of this world. I look forward to reading more about the characters!

This short collection of stories about the characters in Seeking Elvyra is entertaining. It offers a glimpse into the lives of those characters prior to the events in Seeking Elvyra, giving you a fuller understanding of each character and how they become who they are. I think this is a great companion piece to Seeking Elvyra, but I would recommend reading after reading the book, so you know who the characters are. Now I’m ready for book two!

Prelude is a must! A peek into some origins of the characters. No questions answered… even more brought on for Vali.. but that is the gift of a good story teller. To leave you wanting MORE! It’s a must companion read for Seeking Elvyra.

A great set of shorts to go along with this series. The extra information was great to have plus extras for back story and history.

A great little breather after 2 very intense books. Loved how some of the artwork here and "notes" were reminiscing to Iris's notebook.
