Song of Memories

Rate this book
In the heart of ancient Greece, where myths and mortals intertwine, a haunting tale of love and choices resurfaces. Eurydice, a nymph whose grace and wildness rival that of the goddesses, finds her world shattered when Orpheus, the gifted musician whose melodies once echoed through their lives, rejoins her in the Underworld. Infamously abandoned by him forty years earlier, she is torn between the ghost of her past and the wild, untamed spirit of Pan, the mischievous god of the wild who has loved her for centuries.

Orpheus, now a specter in the Underworld, attempts to rekindle the flames of their unfinished love, his haunting melodies pulling at the strings of Eurydice's heart. Meanwhile, Pan, with his wild nature and unyielding devotion, offers her a different kind of love, one grounded in the present and the vibrant essence of life.

As the harmonies of affection play again, Eurydice faces an impossible choice. Pan, with his allure of freedom, and Orpheus, with his haunting echoes, both vie for Eurydice's affection, leaving her torn between a love resurrected from the depths of the Underworld and a love that has bloomed amidst kindred souls.

Will Eurydice embrace the echoes of her past, or will she succumb to the wild, untamed spirit that beckons her toward an uncertain yet vibrant future? "Song of Memories" is a captivating saga of love, sacrifice, and the enduring power of choice, set against the backdrop of ancient Greece.

"Song of Memories" is a mythological, historical fiction set in the ancient world; it contains graphic violence, swearing, and sex scenes.

Molly Tullis would have picked the Phantom of the Opera over Raoul and named her French bulldog Jean Valjean. She only believes in black clothing, red lipstick, and never turns down an iced coffee or tequila. She enjoys writing fantasy, romance, or any genre with an opportunity to insert a dark-haired, morally grey man. Her debut novel, The Romanov Oracle, was inspired by a love of history and a simultaneous desire to rewrite it with more magic.

4.5 / 5 ✨

I continuously say that Molly writes THE best Greek Myth books and this one proves no different.

The fact Orpheus was unable to save Eurydice by not looking back and losing his faith in her has always irked me. Especially as he’s seen as the hero of this tragedy, fuck you Orpheus.

Song of Memories tells a spin on this tale wonderfully, and I prefer this version compared to the original (not a shock with this series) and my only disappointment is that it was so short. I could’ve easily read another 100 pages of just Eurydice’s happiness.

This story follows Eurydice in the afterlife. She is happy and at peace in the Underworld— where Pan, her best friend, finds a way to be there with her. He pines for her and decides to finally voice his feelings—but then Orpheus, Eurydice’s husband, dies.
Her memory of her life with Orpheus is hazy and she doesn’t feel the way she believes one should to reunite with their husband, but is it because they need time to warm up or something else…
His presence turns her peaceful existence upside down and makes her feel lost— she questions if she can make the famous love story work when she finds herself craving another, like a song for her wild heart…

It has Greek mythology, multi POV, gods and goddesses, the Underworld, sneaky plans, unbreakable rules, hopeful deals, betrayal, lies and love
This Greek mythology retelling is a sweet story of love and self discovery— with hippie nature loving vibes and our favorite Underworld gang rooting and supporting their asses off for these lovers.

Eurydice is a nymph that lost her wildness and this is her journey to finding it again—evolving, growing and fighting until she finally feels free and in love.
Orpheus is an ego driven musician that’s good with a tune but bad with the heart— and she is his muse.
Pan is a golden retriever god with a bite, overflowing emotion and love— and she is his wild thing.
This is a love triangle that’s pretty predictable with who’s the best choice for the end, but boy is it fun following along and seeing how we get there. Eurydice needs to remember the love from her past to grow into the love of her future, and when she does it’s the absolute BEST!

This is a easy, emotional and super enjoyable character driven love story. The ending was absolutely perfect and makes me want to be wild, free and in love too!

Tullis’ creativity does it again! Without spoiling anything:

I thought the pacing that centered around Eurydice and Orpheus was well-done. This part could have easily been rushed, but how Tullis wrote Eurydice to go through the motions with Orpheus made it realistic (as realistic a world with Greek gods and magic can get, anyway 😆) given her situation.

It’s always great to see snippets of the previous characters pop-up and it is never a dull moment. It only makes this series even more memorable and lovable to read.

I enjoyed Pan’s character. He was a mixture of that big, tall, strong man and vulnerable and sweet guy.

Song of Memories is a beautiful book and I devoured it as soon as it came out! 🥰
I already can’t wait to read the next book for this series!

beautifully done

Molly can literally write no wrong. Got a mythical fuckboy to out? Tullis is your girl. Got a woman in need of growing into her own self and power?! Molly is the f*cking queen of writing it. She is an instant buy for me and always will be. The Asphodel Series is one of my favorites for any mood I am in. Daddy Thanatos is still my number one but I’ll be damned if Pan didn’t work his way inside my black little heart. If guaranteed laughter and butterflies don’t get you to read her work… her style of writing will surely take your breath away. Give me female rage any day of the week — and let me tell you, Molly knows how to make you feel it. Kudos to Ms Tullis on another beautiful installment. Cannot wait to see what comes next

5/5 ♥️
I’ve read all of Molly Tullis’ books and I’m never disappointed. The writing is elegant, always on point, but it’s never too much when it comes to inner dialogues, you don’t have this feeling sometimes that the story is dragging a little bit. Everything is always useful. Sometimes you want to scream at Eurydice “get the fuck out of here”, and while in other books it would be exasperating, in this one it’s definitely not. You need these moments in the story for your HEA. Love is not always easy to grasp.
I can’t wait for another book, if I’m not mistaken it will be about Persephone and Hades. But I’m hopping Charon will also have his story 😣

Molly does it again!!
This book exceeded my ever expectation!!
What a take on Orpheus and Eurydice! I'd never thought to myself "what did that reunion look like after Orpheus died?"
Molly does this so so well!!!
Not to mention you get cameos of all our favorites, Persephone, Hecate, Hermes, and of course daddy Hades!

Mild spoiler: I've never hated a MMC as much since Tam Tam (bleh)

P.S. MOLLY GIVE US A DIONYSUS BOOK THANKS

Molly has done it again, y'all! I have read everything this author has put out, and this was another amazing Greek love story.
This series has it all: witty banter, recurring cast of characters that we love from previous books, allllllll the spice (!), and respect for our leading ladies (and gents of course!).

If you've read any of the other books in the Asphodel series, definitely get your hands on this one too!

In the first half I was suffering a lot, like Pan (iykyk), but then I LOVED EVERYTHING. I don't like lots of Best Friends to lovers but this one was majestic! Maybe I wanted to see more about the destiny of a certain character in the end (I wanted to see him suffer a LOT) but the end was perfect for this couple. I can't wait to read the next novella!!

This story follows Eurydice and her life in the Underworld, and what happens when Orpheus dies and joins her.

I liked this one, but I enjoyed the previous books in this series more.
