I came across The Inheritance Playbook while scrolling on tiktok and saw a short clip talking about estate planning. It caught my attention because I have aging parents, and it’s something I’ve honestly been putting off.

After reading it, I realized how many things I don’t know and should probably be discussing with my family now, not later. The book tries to simplify complex topics, and while some parts still require effort to fully understand, the overall message is very clear plan early or deal with the consequences later.

I heard about this book through a mix of social media and a friend mentioning it, so I gave it a try. Reading it made me realize how little planning we’ve actually done as a family.
It’s not just about money it’s about avoiding stress and confusion later on. Some parts felt a bit technical, but the message behind it is strong. I just wish I had come across something like this earlier when certain decisions could have been easier.

Saw someone tweet about The Inheritance Playbook and decided to check it out. Didn’t expect much, but it’s actually a solid read.
It explains things most families avoid talking about like what happens when parents pass and how much money can be lost if you’re not prepared. I liked that it’s straight to the point and not overly complicated.
If you’ve never thought about estate planning before, this is a good place to start.

I picked this up because I’ve been thinking more about my parents getting older, and I honestly had no idea what to expect.

It’s one of those books that makes you realize how unprepared you are, but in a way that actually helps instead of overwhelming you. Some parts take a bit of focus, but the main message is clear handle things early and save yourself a lot of stress later.

Glad I read it. Definitely something I’ll be coming back to.

This isn’t the kind of book you read for entertainment, but it’s definitely one of those you read for peace of mind. It covers topics most families avoid until it’s too late.
I appreciated the effort to make complicated ideas more understandable. It’s not perfect, but it’s practical and gives you something to think about moving forward.

I saw a quick clip about this book on tiktok talking about estate planning and it caught my attention because my parents are getting older and I haven’t really thought about any of this seriously.

After reading it, I realized how much I actually don’t know. It’s a bit uncomfortable at times but in a good way. Definitely makes you think about having those conversations sooner rather than later.

Came across this on Instagram, just a random reel about avoiding probate. Didn’t even know what that meant before this. The book is pretty straightforward. Some parts you have to read twice, but overall it made things clearer. Main takeaway for me was don’t wait until it’s too late to figure this stuff out.

Found this through a Facebook post in a group I follow. Thought it would be boring but it’s not as dry as I expected.

It explains things like probate and planning ahead in a way that actually makes sense. Not everything is super easy, but you get the point pretty quickly plan early or deal with problems later.

This book was actually more helpful than I expected. It explains things in a way that makes you start thinking about your own situation right away.

I’d honestly be interested in learning more or even reaching out to the author. If anyone knows where to find him or if he’s active somewhere, I’d like to check that out.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this, but it turned out to be more useful than I thought. It covers topics that are easy to ignore until they suddenly become urgent.

The writing style makes it easier to stay engaged, even when the subject itself is a bit heavy. It’s definitely something I’d recommend to anyone who hasn’t started thinking about this yet.

This isn’t the easiest topic to sit with, but the book handles it in a way that feels manageable.

It helped me understand a few things I’d never really looked into before, and now I feel a bit more prepared instead of just avoiding it.

I didn’t expect to get much out of this, but it actually surprised me. It explains things in a simple way without making you feel lost.

It made me realize there’s a lot I should probably be figuring out now instead of waiting until it’s too late.

What I liked most is how straightforward it is. It doesn’t try to sound too technical, which helps a lot with a topic like this.

It made me more aware of how important it is to plan ahead instead of leaving everything for later.

I finished this and immediately started thinking about my own family situation. It feels like there’s more I could learn beyond what’s in the book.

Does the author have a website or somewhere people can reach him? I feel like this is the kind of guidance a lot of families need.

This book is pretty straightforward but it stays with you after you finish it. It made me realize how easy it is to ignore this kind of planning until it’s too late. Definitely gave me a different perspective.

A must-read if your parents are alive and will leave you money!

My father is still alive and almost 97, but still mentally acute. Still, I wished I talked to him about the things discussed in the book 12 years ago when my mother passed away. Each of the approaches discussed in this book are complex, though the author does his best to simplify things. My challenge now is to find someone locally with long-term knowledge of multi-generational tax and inheritance issues. As the author points out, most CPAs are only concerned about this year’s taxes, and even less concerned about planning now for your how to inherit their money with the least amount of tax consequences.

This is a very helpful, insightful, informative book. It’s easy to read and really gives some clear strategies to consider with clear examples how things work. It’s positioned for handling your parent’s finances/estate, however I found it very helpful giving me things to consider now for my own financial “estate”. Some of the insights I already understood as I have a financial background. Several of the insights were things I came to on my own but only after realizing my own moves may have some bad side effects. Reading this book gave me more areas I will consider and look into. Very helpful!!

Quick and easy read that provided me with information about retirement planning and things I need to ask my parents and MIL. It helps if you have a basic understanding of retirement planning in the US and want to know more. The ebook had links to resources that I will definitely be referencing in the near future!

The opening chapter sets an emotional and relatable tone. Holmes acknowledges the discomfort many people feel when thinking about their parents aging and eventual passing. Instead of avoiding the topic, he encourages readers to confront it early, positioning preparation as an act of love rather than pessimism.
