I am not overly fussy about the technical part of writing unless it actually interferes with the story so I find it easy to enjoy very short reads. Not to say some shorter books are not great, it's just I think it's harder to write short ones. That being said there are two things I hate in a book, the over use of exclamation marks and stilted, bad dialogue. This book has shown me I also hate discrepancies... i.e. it is late enough, after a work day, that he and only a few stragglers are out and about but when he first sees Becca sunlight is bouncing off her chestnut hair, he is in an area unfamiliar to him yet when he follows her it's back to his own office building (also note this was after he left work for the day and they both work until 5:30 in the evening) he follows her onto the subway and "parks across the street from her home"...that's in just the first ten pages! I was also growing tired of each chapter ending in "Becca will be mine she just doesn't know it yet" It just wasn't an enjoyable read, maybe for someone else but the things I mentioned were too distracting.

I thought I was gonna read it only because I downloaded it for free, but suddenly I found myself reading it and I could not leave it until I finish it, liked it!

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Jack is an accountant who is feeling very restless lately, all he does is work. One night, he is the last to leave the office, he wanders around for a bit and ends up at a cafe. When he enters he sees a woman and he is instantly in love. This is the 1 st discrepancy, he comes in at the end of the day but sunlight is highlighting the woman’s hair? Was he walking all night? Is this the next morning? Because her friend tells her they will be late to work and they leave. Jack follows them and sees she works in the same building as him. Her friend called her Becca so he looks her up in the employee directory and finds her. She’s in marketing. He sends a mystery email and in a few weeks she’s working on his floor. Where he stages a run in with her. He has been following her home. 2nd discrepancy, he follows her on the subway then sits in his car outside her apartment. Did he leave and come back with his car? More run in and they start dating, have sex, she finds out he is stalking her, and she breaks up with him. He’s miserable and goes to her a few weeks later, she’s being robbed at knife point when he gets to her place, he punches the assailant and the guy runs away. They make up. Epilogues six months later with them moving in together and one year later with a baby. There were a few other things that didn’t make sense, which is sad because the story was good but the discrepancies took you out of the story. I kept going back to see if I missed something.

The summary caught my interest as I thought the plot was unusual. Jack falls in insta love (obsession) with a woman who happens to work in his building. He stalks her, finds out her routines and insinuates himself into her life. Because is oblivious at first but a small trip up shows her that he’s been following her. It’s a very quick read.
The writing lets it down unfortunately. It’s listed as an age gap romance but the difference in their ages is never mentioned or even hinted at. I couldn’t tell you what Jack looked like. The descriptions were very minimal and the ones that were there were repetitive (all attempts at romance came with the smell of garlic and flickering candles).
Becca’s character is very one dimensional and contradictory. On their first date she feels that all previous men have wanted to rush into physical intimacy when she would prefer not to. A few sentences later they’re kissing and he tells her he’s taking her to his house.
The couple split up and got back together very quickly so there was minimal plot in the middle where there were lots of opportunities to draw it out. I felt there was too much telling me what was happening rather than letting the scenes show me.
Writing a novel is extremely difficult and hats off to the author but I think more time spent editing and enriching the characters and their world would have made for a much more complete story.
It was short and I finished it but it was not great.
1. He is the last one to leave his office, he sees her with sunlight in her hair, who returns to the same office building as him, where there are still lots of people working. How is this even possible? 2. The conversations are weird "Jack comes by later to confirm dinner plans.... 'How's tomorrow night sound?' he asks" It's almost like she wrote the description "later to confirm plans" someone told her to expand it so she just threw in a couple of sentences of dialogue and moves on.
3. They go to a resturant where "the scent of garlic and roses envelops me".......ew? I love roses and I love garlic. The smell together would be so gross.
4. I could forgive everything if the sex scene was good.....it was not.
I rate it 2 stars because I think the story has a lot of potential and I did actually finish it. I am interested to see if all her stories are this poor.
I hated all of it. The repetitions, the not sexy obsession, the inconsistencies, all of it.
Before she knows he exists, she takes the subway home from work, but the next day, she takes her car “as always” and goes to the gym every day.
Or he’s in the kitchen, then he goes upstairs to brew the coffee. What???
Also, marriage and children in under a year is an automatic 2 points subtracted. Did anyone else clock the babies’ names? Sophie and Olivia? Did the author watch The Holiday one too many times?
The book was free and short and it was still too expensive and too long.

This was…not good. Sure, the title should have been my first clue, but I’ve read great books with bad titles before. This was not one of them. I don’t even know how to shelve it. It was not romantic, or dark, or steamy, or…anything, really. I’m not sure of the point of it? I was hoping for a full alphabet to look forward to, but not sure I’ll get past A…
This was just not that great, in my opinion. It gave off weird, creepy stalker vibes NOT the hot, stalker vibes we usually like to read about. This legit sounded like the beginning of a Tedy Bundy documentary 🤷🏼♀️. Also, the insta-lust was cool but the insta-love (basically) on the h's part was so unrealistic. Yes, I know it's fiction but.. still. Anyway, luckily, it was a short very quick read.
In the first 2 chapters (~10 pages) there are already 2 inconsistencies (first he is the last one to leave, then suddenly all his coworkers are there? first she takes the subway, then her car?). After that I pretty much skimmed but still found more inconsistencies... and that's not even touching on the story yet.
I'm always up for a stalker romance. This one is very fast paced and we get to see the moment he becomes obsessed with our girl. If you want something that is super fast this is the book for you.
I’d read a longer version of this with more finesse. Maybe that says something about me but it doesn’t feel fair to rate it low since it’s a short story and I did want more. 3 stars for sick and twisted. My favorite!
I have read up to chapter nine. This book fella like it jumps all over the place. From him stalking her. To to telling each other I love you. It misses a lot of in between Information. Not sure if I can finish it.
This one wasn’t for me. I wasn’t feeling any chemistry between the main characters and the I love you on the first date was a little much for my personal tastes.
There is like no build up. He sees, her and goes full blown stalker, integrates himself in her life and then makes her fall in love with him.
I mean there is nothing different in the story. It’s called Stalked by the Accountant, but there is no like involvement of anything to do with him being an accountant. HE could be a CEO, or a regular clerk and the story would not change.
Although her fear and his angst at being separated from her is well depicted, but again its nothing new or unique than the other ‘stalkery’ books by this author.
