There's only so much knowledge one can consume within a mortal lifespan. For the last five years, I've spent all my funds on vampire hunting. And one is finally in my grasp. The only problem is a master vampire is not far behind him. I end up with far more than I bargained for.
When not penning the next novel, J.E. Feldman focuses on mentoring authors and raising money for charity. The literature world is merely one facet of her life. Feldman haunts car shows, anime conventions, medieval fairs, and whatever else catches her attention.
She enjoys road trips ripe with history, crocheting blankets for the homeless, and can be found reading in cramped bookstores.
I love the concept the writer had for this short story. Wanting to be immortal so she could finish her to be read pile of books. It's a hilarious reason to want to become a vampire for that reason. And while she may have done her homework in figuring out how she could capture one she forgot some important questions. For instance, what abilities will my master have? Is there a hierarchy? What are the consequences of capturing a vampire? I have a feeling the one that turned her was the master of the one she captured. The only critique I would offer would be that the ending was left wide open. It feels unfinished. You could add to the story.
