"I hadn't known I was capable of loving someone the way I loved my little Queen, but it was written in the stars. We were simply meant to be."

Loved it just as much as I loved the first part of the duet. This one had me on the edge of my seat! The twists and betrayal were shocking and heartbreaking, and the redemption of an old enemy was heartwarning.

The character development was amazing, especially with Sally. Watching her become completely crushed emotionally and then picking herself back up with total badass QUEEN energy was so awesome!

I didn't want this duet to end. I was completely hooked from the very first page. Fan or not of Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I 100% recommend. This story was so exciting, entertaining, and easy to read!

Make sure to read TWs. This is a dark book inspired by Jack Skelton and Sally and Zero

This is the second book in The Nightmare Duet. It is absolutely necessary to read book one— The Nightmare King, which is an amazing book ur gonna love it.

This book is so good. I couldn't put it down. I really love Jack and Sally's love for each other. And how protective he is of her. And how we got to see the growth she made from when they 1st met. If u love dark romance books, ur not gonna wanna skip this series so good. I'm hoping for a book 3 and how their lives are now.

No Rating | DNF

Despite that there’s really nothing wrong with this book that I can pinpoint to, I still DNF it.

Why? It’s just a personal thing, a feeling.
I just have a hard time reconnecting with the characters and they just don’t bring out much emotion out of me anymore in this sequel. I feel like; been there, done that and I’m just not invested anymore. It’s nothing that the author did really, because the writing in general is really easy-going and likeable and I really think this duology in general is a good recommendation to people who like Biker romances and a bit of a twist as well < the Nightmare before Christmas references for example. To me, I think these kind of stories would be perfect to wrap up in 1 book and then for example focus on another couple in the next book, instead of a longer ongoing story. That would’ve been better with this story I think, if I do have to pinpoint something.

I got a constant feeling of just wanting to be done with it all so I think it’s better that I just quit now. Since I don’t know how it continues and ends, it’s not honest to go further in depth because I can’t talk about something that I haven’t read (more of). I think for the people who like these kind of books, it’s definitely a good one to look into. Reading is such a personal experience and there are so many readers out there who absolutely adore these books, so don’t let me influence you haha! It’s just my opinion and especially just my feelings that can be totally different from yours when picking up these books.

So many feels!

This book had me crying before I was even a quarter the way through. I loved seeing Sally find her inner strength, and the connection between her and Jack. Very well done! A must read, but please read the first book before this one.

What an awesome conclusion to this duet. I love this retelling. It characters actually resembles the movie but the plot is different. I love how strong Sally is even after all the stuff she has been put through. I actually sad that this is the end. I really loved this characters.

This is a dual virgin romance. But it is dark, there is violence and the MC has club girls that are available for secs with anyone and you read of the brothers taking them right in the main club.

The MCs are virgins. He doesn’t like to be touched. He treats her rough at the beginning, and it feels like he’s using her by the way he asks for oral and just walks away. He doesn't understand his feelings. But is fast obsessed and it’s them against the world. Their love is intense and you see how she grows. She even becomes a badass in her own way. It also, enraged me how the MC had all those security systems installed but they did nothing when it counted. It didn’t make sense.

So, if you can have a blind eye to the exhibitionism and dark stuff, it is a good read. Both books. But it’s not for everyone. I just enjoyed their romance.

There is violence, exhibitionism, it’s dark, club girls, the death of a best friend, his dog also gets hurt. It’s intense.

I absolutely loved the first book, the second fell a little flat for me though. Loved the wrap, but I felt it was too fast at times and had a different feeling from the first.

Jack & Sally: What a Finale... Absolutely perfect! 5 Stars!

OMG… What. A. Ride! THE QUEEN OF NIGHTMARES, Book Two of the Nightmare Duet did not disappoint. In brief, I loved it!

Book Two of this awesome retelling picks up where THE NIGHTMARE KING left off. Sally is recovering from injuries sustained by The Doctor and since the incident, Jack has become distant. In the aftermath of The Doctor’s arrest, Jack has been caring for Sally’s injuries while wrestling with the guilt of not being there to protect her. Further, Jack is also processing and trying to cope with the loss of his close friend while searching for a replacement VP for the Club
.
Due to Jack’s distant behavior, Sally has grown insecure and worries about the future of their relationship. She blames herself for bringing her troubles with her to Pumpkin Patch, thus endangering the lives of Jack and members of the Nightmares MC. As if things couldn't possibly get any worse for this couple, a new mole has been discovered within the Club. Sally remains in danger as there are now two threats against her, Jack, and their unborn child.

Between the threats, trying to juggle Club business, saving his town from being taken over by a rival gang and keeping his new family safe, Jack has had to prioritize. In the process, he’s subconsciously pushing Sally away. The true dilemma here is if whether or not Jack’s coldness and lack of emotional support towards Sally will be the “friendly fire” that destroys everything he and Sally have built before any outside entity has the chance.

R. Sullins did such a fantastic job with the development of the main characters throughout this duet. Whereas THE NIGHTMARE KING focused on Sally’s need for the protection of Jack and the Nightmares, THE QUEEN OF NIGHTMARES has Sally taking center stage in the spotlight and her rightful seat at the Head of the table to fight for and protect her family. Sally showed up and showed out in this book and I was here for all of it! Her transformation is epic! Sally goes from a shy, lowly caterpillar… quiet with her head hanging low in an effort not to be seen into this beautiful, translucent butterfly… resilient, assertive, and vigilant. The perfect yin-yang balance between these two characters has been achieved in this second installment of the duet, making Jack and Sally truly unique “couple's goals”.

This entire story was fantastic and one of THE BEST duets that I’ve read in a long time. Both books complement each other perfectly! This is why this author is on my “one-click-buy” list! Don’t walk… RUN and read this duet!!!! I cannot recommend it enough!

R. Sullins has a true gift of creating engaging, relatable characters and weaving a story for them that will take your emotions on a crazy roller coaster ride but deliver you to the sweetest destination. Thank you for writing this brilliant retelling of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and recreating a real-time version of Jack and Sally that I will never forget.

Happy Reading!

Somehow even better than the first

The first part of this duet was amazing and this half definitely didn't disappoint. We got the see the characters start to grow together and on their own in part one and in this part, Sally really came into herself. The couple had a bit of a rocky patch after the end of part one, but communication actually helps in a relationship. It was nice to actually see this in a book.

Both Sally and Jack are still learning how to navigate a relationship and outside factors aren't going to help matters, not when the Boogeymen made their threats in the last book. Add in guilt on all sides from precious events and it doesn't make things easy. After everything they've already been through though, they're not going to take things lying down. After every hit they take, they come back stronger, if a little more cracked, but not broken yet.

While they both did some growing in the last book, Jack had made the most progress. In this book, they both continue to grow, but Sally is the one that makes strides in her growth. Not only does she need to work on her relationship with Jack, but also the club that's such a huge part of Jack's life. After everything that happened in part one, trust isn't going to come easy. I loved this story so much. I don't think I could ask for a better author to bring life to characters from one of my favorite movies. I can't wait to see what the author comes out with next!

This is the second in the series. You definitely need to read the first to know what is happening in the second. The first was a retelling of the Nightmare before Christmas. However, this one was way different. It's the continued story of Jack and Sally, but this more of the author. She doesn't use the Disney movie as much to guide her in this one.

In this book, Oogie Boogie is trying to steal Sally and take over the town because he hates Jack. Sally is pregnant and Jack is overprotective. In the end, Sally ends up saving the day twice WHILE pregnant. Sometimes Jack is VERY overbearing and it was annoying. For example, he wouldn't stop holding her for an ultra sound and wouldn't really allow her to leave the house at first. But he gets over it and then stuff just starts going down and she takes control. It's a super quick read and I loved it almost as the first one. Took me 3 hours to finish.

What I really adored about this book is that this wasn't another "Woah is me" woman and the author didn't make the female lead "stubborn" that it was the point of childish and embarrassing. Sally took the lead, made decisions, and made it happen. So did Daisy at one point. LOVED IT! We need more female characters written like this.

Absolutely fantastic!

Man this duet was absolutely amazing!!
In the Queen of Nightmares, it starts off shortly after the King of Nightmares ended but its mostly in Sally's POV. She's just gone thru the trauma of what happened with Dr Stein and is pregnant. Except Jack seems to be withdrawing from her and she had to draw a line in the sand with him to get him to quit being distant.

Better than ever now, things seem to be going great but the threat isn't gone from their life yet... not with the Boogiemen still after them AND Dr stein seems to have escaped somehow. Jack takes every precaution... but theres a mole within the Nightmares that ramps up the threat.

When Sally is captured by Oogie, Jack takes her place and things get a little dark. But i loved how Sally took over and really became a seriously gnarly heroine!!!

Man i absolutely loved this duet... it was amazing and had a fantastic ending!!

I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I went into this duet wanting to read a book (or series) that made me feel and oh boy did it. I laughed, I cried, I gasped and I worried. I also read the duet in 24 hours. I freaking devoured it. Obsessed. All the things. I had 0 expectations going in and it exceed every one that I didn't even know I had.

I'm such a sucker for the MMC being an absolute cinnamon roll for their girl, and Sally was an absolute badass. I was riveted from beginning to end, and I need to pick up more books by this author! The writing was absolutely up my alley and the duet was so so easy to fall into. I absolutely loved all the characters and the banter, everything was so vivid. I especially loved the balance of sweet moments and action. I also love that the baby wasn't actually born until the epilogue as well - it absolutely would have overshadowed the story otherwise.

The characters were real, relatable and even though I have only seen half of the movie the duet is inspired from, I can tell it does the movie service.

The Queen of Nightmares picks up where The Nightmare King ended. Our lovely Sally has been through hell and back with Dr. Stein but he's finally in jail and she's at home with Jack and pregnant! Things seem to finally be on the upside but nothing is ever that easy.

What I enjoyed about The Queen of Nightmares was watching Sally become a stronger woman. Was it out of need? Yeah, that doesn't take away her growth and I know she'll keep her Queen attitude from here on out and I'm here for it. I also enjoyed watching Bones go from a dark broody man, to a loving broody man rofl. Look, if he wasn't broody or dangerous looking, we wouldn't love him as much, let's be honest. But he retains that while turning into a lover for his woman and that was still hott.

I enjoyed this MC a lot. Are there other books focused on Doc, Barrel, and Shock? I really want them because I just loved them all so much lol. Definitely a fun read for Halloween

I've been waiting for this book! Ahhh! It was so, so good! I literally could not put it down. Jack finally got Sally back and then they're constantly threatened by one thing or another as we go through their story.

Threatened by the Boogeymen, Jack does all he can to protect his town, his men, and the most important thing in his life, his woman. Sally feels despondent from his distance while she healed though and ultimately she helps him get his head on straight and realize that he's been an idiot. With increased security brings a false sense of security that reveals an unexpected mole in the Nightmares compound.

This was a veritable rollercoaster of ups and downs that had me drawn in from the start. There were so many great reveals and twists in this, and Jack and Sally reuniting is all I could think about and hope for.

Book 2 starts out with a bang, Sally was able to escape Dr. Stein a second time thanks to Bones coming to the rescue, but not without a new scar to show for their time together. With the traumatic event of the doctor returning behind them, both Sally and Jack find this distance between them that neither want but are also not willing to address. They still have Oogie popping up and threatening their little town and Sally’s life, plus the surprise holding them together at the moment, but with everything so tense, will they be able to hold on to each other?

This duet was very well written as a retelling with a MC twist and I am not a big fan of MC romances, but I am a diehard for TNBC!!! You have all the best characters and the best way of tying a Tim Burton story into a dark romance!!!

The Nightmare Duet has finally come to a close and I can say that I am so happy to have been introduced to this world! Jack and Sally are one of my top favorite animated couples out there. Reading this retelling set in a MC world was absolutely amazing!!

Sally is finally given a chance to overcome so many obstacles in this final book. She’s is incredibly strong, brave, and absolutely stunning. Jack does not disappoint. He is more protective, more loving, and just straight up happier to have found his queen. He will do anything for her and it shows.

If you love a good MC romance with some action and some spice, then this duet is definitely for you!

Your lucky to find love like this in the first place. I couldn't put it down till I was done.

You are my very existence. Without you, there is no me.” Her lips trembled as she stared into my eyes, and I watched as that little flicker of life grew brighter. “I told you before that I didn’t know what love is. But, Sally, the way I feel for you? It doesn’t seem strong enough, but there is no other word that could describe the yearning, the obsession, the desire I feel for only you. I’m sorry I haven’t shown you. But, I vow to you, not another day will go by in our very long lives that I won’t show you with everything I am. I love you, little Queen.”

The Queen, Sally…

Almost as good as the first book, and still a 5 star read. This was really, really good and I loved it. Book 1 was so good that I bought the duet, mid KU read. And if you are a fan of the Nightmare before Christmas, you will hopefully love this reimagined version.

Dare I say, I knew it! That friend was too good to be true… and I was so happy to see an old enemy show up. I know that sounds crazy but you will be happy too. Plus there’s a bit more drama with the doctor so be prepared.

These two will go on my Keeper shelf, for sure. Highly recommended!!

Wow! Great book!!

This is the second book in the duet series. Th first book is the King of Nightmares. It is important ghat you read the first book before the second one. This series is the first I've read from this author. It won't be the last. This book had action, love, betrayal and a HEA. Jack and Sally have had a hard lonely life. When they met they met, they both became stronger in each other. I highly recommend these books and author.

I love how Sally grows so much in this book and decides to do what she has to do for her King of Nightmares. Jack and Sally have the sweetest relationship it makes my heart melt. I also love the plot twist and there is friendship where you don't expect it as well as a friend that is actually the enemy. I loved this book and definitely am happy with this retelling of The Nightmare before Christmas.

What an ending!

This is such a great book.
Sally has grown throughout both books and Jack is different due to having Sally in his life.
This book is such an emotional rollercoaster. It is all encompassing and gives you many heart in your mouth moments. I was absorbed from the first page and could not put the book down until I read the final page. 5 stars!

Another fab story

I Really enjoyed this second story about Sally and Jack. The elusive Dr Stein has escaped yet again and Sally is still in danger. Also a rival gang want to take over their territory at it seems there is a mole amidst their club. It's lucky that Sally has been taught how to fire a gun. Hot read.

Kara being a two face hurt my feelings (but Daisy redemption arc is fantastic)
Doc and Helen spin off book WHEN!??!?!??

Tons of angst, some tragic moments and so many moments of love and surprise in a good way that you just can’t put the book down!

A dark retelling of The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is book 2 you MUST read book 1 first.

FANTASTIC!!! I loved this. I wasn't sure I was going to about 25% in, but it flipped the script and I was entangled in the story. What is not to love about a retelling, meets motorcycle romance, with a badass FMC!!!
