Kate is ready for a Christmas getaway. She is the owner of a bakery but she wants a vacation. She books a place in the small town of Snow Falls. To her shock, when she gets there, she is not alone. A man by the name of Alex is also staying there. He has proof that he booked the cabin for the same amount of time as Kate did.
What starts as an uncomfortable situation, changes as their attitude for each other morphs too. Spending the holidays together and discovering the beautiful town brings them closer together.
This was a sweet short story. Enjoyable during Christmas!

I received a free copy from the publisher, thank you Entrada Publishing for letting me read, Double Booked, by Cassidy Berg. This is the first book in the, Christmas in Snow Falls, series. Kate is a baker, she decides to go away for Christmas, but finds out the cottage she is staying at is double booked by a man named Alex. I thought this was an ok read, the characters were a little immature for me though.

A ver… este libro fue un horror total 😂. O sea, jamás en mi vida había leído un instalove tan descarado y tan malo. Literal, los personajes se conocen tres días ¡tres días, amix! y ya se aman con locura, se quieren casar, vivir juntos, tener hijos y hasta planear su retiro en la playa. No, no, no… HORROR.
La sinopsis promete algo divertido: una comedia romántica con enredos y “dobles reservas” donde las cosas se van complicando entre dos personajes. Y sí, suena lindo en papel. Pero la ejecución… uff, pésima.
De verdad, fue como ver una telenovela donde alguien dice “me sonrió y supe que era el amor de mi vida” y tú solo estás pensando: “amiga, bájale dos rayitas, apenas sabe cómo te apellidas”. Me reí, sí, pero no por lo cómico, sino por lo ridículo del asunto.

This book badly needs an editor. The main character's name is not mentioned at all in the first chapter, there are multiple instances of the exact same things being said - like literally copy/paste - and even the entire premise behind the book (have to share an Airbnb or lose your deposit?) is massively flawed. It has the potential to be a cute Hallmark-y book but ends up reading almost like fan fiction. The location of the main bedroom changes throughout the book, the romance is way too fast and unrealistic, there is a conversation that happens and then the next chapter is quite literally the same conversation again but with more details. I'm not sure if half the book was AI generated or if both the author and the editor/publisher just forgot what happened literally half a page before. Do not waste your time. You will be frustrated and irritated trying to read this book

This book had great potential, but it was very poorly executed. It felt wholly unrealistic in the timeline the author gave for the love story. If it had been stretched out a bit longer in the timing it could have been much better. There was also the added annoyance of switching between characters POV without any warning or even break in the chapter - just entirely switched to different people from one paragraph to the next.

This is so bad, it seriously made me consider if it were written by a middle schooler. Lots of telling, not showing. Lack of any dialogue, much less believable or moving. Lack of internal consistency. And frankly a basic lack of understanding of adult relationships.
I got this as a free Goodreads giveaway, which thankfully means I didn't have to pay for it.

Horrible editing! This could have been a really cute Christmas hallmark like story. Jumping around and timeline off. I only finished because it was so short. Not sure if I should never read author again or ban this editor/publisher!

I know that romance stories are always somewhat unrealistic. But this was just so poorly written that it's impossible to suspend disbelief. First and foremost, I really do not understand at all HOW Jen was able to cause them to double book the cottage? First off, what in the world are the chances that both people are looking to book the exact same vacation, the exact same dates, length of time, and exact same location? And even IF that happened, how could someone possibly create a glitch in the system to allow two people to book at the same time? I don't understand. Jen just so happens to live within walking distance of said cottage also? That said, what are even the chances that Jen is such great friends with both of these people and yet they've never once met or even heard of each other before? I'm pretty sure if you're absolute best friends with someone you would've been introduced to one of their dearest childhood friends before. They've never both gone to Jen's birthday party before?
The chapters where Alex has to leave to attend to his dad's medical emergency made no sense. Why in the world are they so sad about him leaving, as if they're breaking up or will never speak again? After they just clearly expressed to each other that they're interested in continuing their relationship past this vacation? And why does Kate get mad at Alex and think he may have been in on the double booking? After Jen clearly just said she did it to set them up?
Besides all those plot holes, there are also just errors in the writing. Like time lines not matching up - they're supposed to be there two weeks but it says they spent a week together, Alex leaves for a week, he comes back still before Christmas, and they then spend Christmas together and all through New Year's??? In the beginning Kate says she can't leave her business during Christmas and will book a vacation for right after the holiday, but then she leaves and spends what seems like the entirety of December on her vacation anyway?
There are also multiple points throughout the book where sentences or even entire paragraphs were copied and pasted in different spots, as if the author was trying to edit by moving things around but forgot to delete what she copied.

Kate books an Air BnB in Snow Falls for a peaceful and relaxing getaway during the holiday season but little does she know, she will be sharing her space with a guest - Alex - due to a glitch in the system.
Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. It is a short book which has a story line that is very rushed and doesn't flow very well. It could have been a great read if it flowed better. Unfortunately, I felt lost every couple paragraphs because scenes, details, and conversations were missing.

I'm giving it two stars, because some of the descriptions were done so beautifully in a way I haven't had an author do in a long time.
Now, the reason I didn't give it more than two stars is because this was easily one of the most melodramatic books I've ever read. These two characters knew each other for only a few days, and then when they were separated for a short time, they acted as if the other one had died. As if they would never see each other again, even though Alex had left behind essentially all his belongings.
There were a few inconsistencies as well. The reason Alex left was because his father had hit his head but for some reason he had abdominal surgery? Also, Kate told Alex to call him when he got there, but he kept checking his phone stating no messages from Kate? There were a lot of copy and pasted passages. But also, it really felt like the author did not want to write a longer book. It's about 130 pages, and there were skipped time passages where we could have seen Kate and Alex really grow together as a couple or get in on some inside jokes that seem to have been planted that we never saw form. It just felt like an incomplete story, unfortunately, as this is a great trope.

Okay so this book definitely gives all of the Hallmark Christmas vibes complete with more hot chocolate than one could imagine and all the cheesiness a Christmas lover’s heart desires! 🎁🎄I am so here for that!!! However, this was unfortunately very poorly written with so many random oversights by the author/editor. Also the male main character has an emergency back home and the likelihood of him coming back to Snow Falls so quickly is far fetched in my opinion. With that being said this was an easy read and did make me smile throughout the book! I’m so ready for the Christmas season! 🎄🎅🏽 It seems that this author has written a million books for this series and I will definitely give the next one a read in the hopes that it’s a bit more detailed than this one! 😊

It was cute. It was super rushed because it’s about 70 pages but it felt like reading a hallmark movie. Happy endings + hot chocolate + Christmas = perfection. I wish we could get a little more details about the characters but if you are looking for a book to get you into the Christmas hallmark mood. Look no further

If you like cozy, quick (less than 100 pages), saccharine sweet, Hallmark-movie-esque romances with a guaranteed HEA, then this book is for you.
Honestly, this is not my favorite type of romance. It was PG in every sense and I prefer significantly more spice. With that being said, I looked into this author and her books are rated ages 8+. Reading it from that perspective, I know 12 year old me would have totally been swept away in the magic, sweetness, and insta love of this story. I often listen to a lot of audio books with my young child in the car, and this one wouldn't have me leaping for the pause button or to turn down the volume...
I felt like the characters and story lacked depth, but with the story being less than 100 pages, it would have been hard to flush them out more. A little more angst in the beginning with the accidental double booking would have been nice. Some extra build-up for their relationship... anything. But, Kate really wanted to go to a magical snowy place and find that special someone and that's exactly what she did.
The chapters did get a little confusing as they jumped between character perspectives from paragraph to paragraph within the same chapter. I think I would have liked to see the book structured that each chapter was from either Kate's or Alex's perspective.
Overall this was a quick easy read. It honestly felt like watching a Hallmark movie, always light and sweet.

Okay, wtf even is this? How is the place double-booked through a glitch if it was actually Jen who set them up? It can’t be both. And did the author just do a search for “coffee” and replace all with “hot chocolate?” Because at one point, there’s a hot chocolate machine, and a “bitter first sip” after doctoring the hot chocolate with cream and sugar… Also, what adults drink THIS MUCH hot chocolate? ALSO why are there recaps at the beginnings of chapters? The argument between Kate and her friend Jen was quite enough the first time around; I don’t need a rehashing of it. ALSO ALSO how is it a funny harmless prank to convince Jen that she has a secret admirer? And how doesn’t Jen recognize Kate or Alex’s phone numbers? And Alex just… leaves his incredibly unwell father in the hands of a home health care worker without any investigating or anything? AND ANOTHER THING - his first Christmas present for her is baking equipment? Which will be so helpful since she’s a baker? BUT SHE ALREADY OWNS A SUCCESSFUL BAKERY?! But the fancy equipment will be so beneficial, fulfills her professional baking dreams, blah blah blah. And she just *happens* to know a rare book guy, who magically gets this very specific edition of a book??? Anyway, I clearly had a lot of feelings about this book and I don’t think any of them were positive. Even the epilogue was infuriating. Why did I finish this?????

I should have DNF’d it because I feel so bad having to write such a negative review. It definitely needed a huge edit and more pages for character development. Multiples pages where it felt like they just did a copy paste from a page or two before. Felt like Groundhog Day where you’re thinking “I literally just read that”. I wanted to know more about the characters and yet it was just so short. At the end it brings up a troubled past the main character, Kate had, but the beginning never alluded to it. It was just weird. I felt like I was reading 6th grade assignments. I love the Hallmark feel to books but man this one was tough to not DNF. So much lack of creativity and build up. Missed opportunities. I tried. I really did. But yikes. I finished it in about 2 hours and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing.

This booked started off like a good cheesy Hallmark movie (which I love), but after a few chapters in it started going downhill. As others stated in reviews, this book really lacked an editor. There is so much repetition in this book, details & information change from chapter to chapter and the characters lack being given descriptions/story shaping about them to help develop a visual character for the reader to imagine. The couple fall in love way too quickly which makes it unbelievable, and as a side note the amount of sugar Kate consumes in each chapter is absurd and not realistic at all. I couldn’t finish this book and shelved it as DNF.

The premise of this book was already creepy and unrealistic but I got it in a Goodreads giveaway so figured I’d give it a chance. I wish I didn’t. The book was super short, the characters were unrealistic, the romance was rushed, and the same passages were copied in some pages making me think I accidentally swiped backwards. At least the cover was cute.

This just wasn’t for me. Most everything made me cringe. Especially how she acted after his emergency. How they both acted like they would never see each other again. Plus the prank was just grossly rude. I paid to listen to it though, so I had to finish.

It has potential to be great but just wasn't. This could have been a really well written full book but felt more like a first draft. The timeline was all over the place and I really didn't connect to any of the characters because we didn't get an intro to them at all.

It was a cute book. However in places the timeline didn’t match up with what previously happened. Things were repeated frequently and the contradictions of what Kate “thought” and then did were frustrating.

Alright, let me start with what I liked about this book:
- There is an amazing story line and so much potential to be an amazing Hallmark-esque book.
Now for what I disliked about this book:
- This book does have at least one spot with almost copy and paste repetition.
- *personal opinion* I feel like her full name could have been mentioned in chapter 1 instead of half way down the second page of chapter 2.
- *personal opinion* I don't know what type of person brings there own kitchen knife set with them on vacation. This just felt wrong to me and also like a plot hole.
- The location of her bedroom is not consistent at all throughout the book. In chapter 2 it is said that she can take the main bedroom on the main floor but throughout the book that seems to have been forgotten.
- There was a lot of chances in this book for more detail that were not taken and make the book feel very rushed.

This is a short, sweet Hallmarkesque story with a touch of holiday magic thrown in for good measure. It is perfect read for those busy days during the holiday season. Kate, a very busy baker, decides to take a break between Christmas and new years and books a stay a cottage in a picturesque town that becomes a winter wonderland over the holidays. She arrives at the cottage only to find a strange man already there who has booked his own vacation at the cottage. Neither Kate or Alex could know that a double booking (deliberate or not) could lead to a love match. Natural caution around a stranger soon turns into intrigue then sharing meals, taking walks and exploring the town together. Is it insta love or insta delusion? Shared kisses say one thing, logic says another. Will they take the leap of faith and go forward together?

The storyline is cute and interesting and there are some good phrases throughout, but the repetition and lack of detail hurt the story a lot for me. I feel like a lot could be cut out and replaced with the addition of further detail and showing instead of telling throughout. For me, it reads like a synopsis of a hallmark movie or thorough markup of an idea pitch. Don’t get me wrong, it is an entertaining and easy read, I just wish it went deeper and gave more. It is full of potential, just doesn’t fit my preferences at the moment. With that said, if you need something short and sweet and don’t mind repetition (both loose and exact, to the point of full sentences seeming to be copied and pasted), insta-love, or inconsistencies (of time and setting), then give it a try!

Mushy Hallmark movie in book form
Kate a baker needs a long anticipated break.She decides to book an Airbnb in Snow Falls ,a typical Hallmark type town. She gets to her cabin and it's double booked.The other guest is Alex a finance guy. In record time they fall in love( like 2 days ) ,the usual hot cocoa and kisses. also like the hallmark channel Everything is very p.c.
Personally I was very disappointed,due to the fact that the title implied some drama would be involved. I am a lifetime movie person,which involves lots of drama,so for me this book was too wholesome.
If you ARE into Hallmark movies this is perfect. I have nothing against Crown media as they are a great company to work for or a dig at Hallmark fans

A very cute Hallmark type story. I enjoyed the storyline quite a bit. Very promising.
The structure of the book I was not a fan of. The book is extremely short, so I do understand much had to be put way side. However, extra pages could have been added to make it flow better and more clear.
Different POV were jumbled together and switched without warning. Timelines were confusing at times because it seemed so much had happened and time should have gone on; only to find maybe a few days went by.

I gave this 3 stars because it wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. It's really a 2.5 but I'll be generous with a 3.

Tenía ciertas expectativas sobre este libro, la típica historia donde dos desconocidos reservan el mismo lugar en navidad y se enamoran. Pintaba para ser el clásico romance predecible pero bonito, tenía ganas de algo así para estas fechas, pero sinceramente no me gustó.
La primer parte del libro iba bien, pero ya cuando comenzó el romance 😵💫, todo sucedió taaaan rápido y taaaaaan perfecto 🙄, que la verdad me dio super flojera y pues lo terminé porque ya no me quedaba mucho. Creo que no lo recomiendo ni si quiera para pasar el rato 🙈
