The New York Post columnist, Fox News contributor, and national bestselling author of Laptop from Hell returns with the explosive, definitive account of the Biden family scandals.
It’s rare that a campaign season has anything like an IRS whistleblower and a California US attorney saying they were blocked from pursuing charges, foreign wire transfers of millions of dollars going to several members of politician’s family, suspicious slap-on-the-wrist plea deals, mounds of incrimination texts, a previously unacknowledged child with a stripper, and multiple congressional investigations. It’s unprecedented to have them all tied to one politician like Joe Biden.
The federal government and the mainstream media have been selling the narrative for years that Hunter Biden is a good son with addiction problems who has suffered enough. But what if the Biden family has been involved in sketchy financial dealings and coverups that get bigger every passing year?
Miranda Devine goes deep into the dark underbelly of American politics, where it’s okay to break the law as long as you follow the rest of the elite’s rules. With a surgeon’s precision she dissects the shady dealings of the Biden family in China and Eastern Europe, exposing the cover-up within the government and media. With meticulous research and insider sources, Devine uncovers the shocking truth about Joe Biden's involvement in his son Hunter's business dealings and the extent of their corruption.
Many have argued that intelligence agents and social media companies tilted the 2020 election in Biden’s favor by hiding the contents of Hunter’s laptop. Devine goes beyond their coverage to “silence the truth” and in The Big Guy finally reveals the corruption within the Biden family and the government.
Miranda Devine has a Master of Science in journalism from Northwestern University in the US and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Australia’s Macquarie University. She has written columns extensively for Australian newspapers, has worked as a reporter and feature writer for the Boston Herald and has scribed for the Sunday Times and the Sun in the UK. She currently writes for the New York Post. She is the bestselling author of Laptop from Hell. "In The Big Guy" she exposes scandal and corruption involving the Biden family, one of whom is the current President of the United States of America.
It is clear from the outset of this book that it is based on meticulous research. While the author claims that some information has come from insider sources, a lot of material has come through official channels such as the FBI. Then there is the Laptop From Hell.
There are claims by an IRS whistle-blower and a California US Attorney of their being blocked from pursuing charges; of foreign wire transfers of millions of dollars going to several family members; of suspicious plea deals; of incriminating text messages. All of this and more covered up within the government and by the mainstream media.
Fiction this isn’t and the revelations are explosive. Little wonder that subsequent to publication of the book, the President has gone on a presidential pardoning spree.
The author connected all the dots in the criminal acts of the Biden family. The facts confirm how the different agencies and players protected them by slow walking investigations and allowing the statutes of limitations to expire. Players were afraid of losing their jobs, not getting that promotion or just having their lives destroyed if they spoke up. The entitlement and corruption displayed by the Biden family is disgraceful and they should not be any where near the Peoples house!!And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!!
Does anyone really not understand why Trump won reelection? Talk about an author meticulously laying out the corruption that is Washington DC especially her exacting details of the selling of our country to our enemies by the Biden Crime Family. This reads like fiction! Unfortunately, it is fact- the crimes, the cover up, the depth of deceit, the weaponization of the FBI, the CIA, the Democratic lead government and their overwhelming hatred of our country is very disturbing but informative! Hunter and his family have violated our trust in our democracy and both need to be punished to the full extent of the laws they broke. The severity of these crimes is compounded by the fact that both are lawyers so THEY KNEW BETTER! This should be required reading for every 18 year old before they vote!
Old Uncle Joe is as corrupt as the day is old. All he did was sit back and let Hunter be his bag man. He makes a quick appearance when Hunter needed to prove to his cohorts that the Biden brand was good, then settle into the background and let the money roll in. And the machine makes him appear untouchable. The only hero’s in this story are the whistle blowers and the judge.
The privileged elite due to political raw power take entitlement for granted after years of disgusting reliance on "pity power" of family tragedy. This work of non fiction gives an accurate detailed account of the disreputable acts of fraud of the American people and the enrichment of a single family. Wake up America. This is a systemic problem created, maintained and furthered by the most outrageous democrat politicians. It's not limited to one party. So balance your decision on who to support that has the best interests of America in mind. Do not be deceived by pure political horse fodder. Let's fix thus problem by terms limits, decent realizing the federal government and limited Congressional Sessions and reducing the federal bureaucracy. Miranda Devine presents the evidence in a very persuasive manner.
Fascinating as well as infuriating, this well-researched and detailed account of how the Bidens sold out the United States for money is definitely worth the read. It is incredible to me how much they have gotten away with. As Devine describes in great detail, they had a lot of help from government agencies who covered up, stonewalled and just plain chose to ignore what would have sent Trump and his son to prison. I can only hope that Devine's hard work will eventually end up in a court room, where Hunter, his Dad, and his uncle Jim are held to account for the disgusting corruption and greed that has characterized the Bidens for decades.
Excellent investigative journalism. Extensively researched and well told. You can’t imagine how corrupt the Bidens really are. In 2016, Trump was right about all of it- who knew…well, Miranda Devine and many many others.
Miranda Devine is a smart, thorough and factual reporter working at The New York Post. She has been following the Biden family for years writing articles regularly. Her book is shocking and fascinating. And I am in awe of her fearlessness. Not for everyone, this book is a wild ride for anyone who buys a ticket. 4 stars
I read the book, it is somewhat repetitive at times and the chronology jumps around frequently to and from the same times and this book is in need of some editing.
It’s about time we got back to honest journalism. Remember when we could depend upon news accuracy and not have to wonder if it was true or propaganda. …
I thought I had a handle on this entire saga with the Biden crime family. As it turns out, there was so much more. FJB While the book is hard to follow at times, it appears to be incredibly well researched. It is too bad that there are no footnotes attached, it would keep the naysayers quiet. I’m sure they’ve tried to rebut some, if not all of this, and their silence is deafening.
One last comment. Miranda Devine is an absolute STUD. She is raising a family, has a ‘day’ job, yet she is able to churn out some very good books that require mountains of research and knowledge. Very cool.
This author is astounding in her grasp of detail and the ability to explain a myriad of details. I knew what I was in for when I purchased the book, but wow! She wrote the book to give ostrich friends who have any doubts about a second-rate Irish crime family boss who are now willing to face facts!
I mean...... a non-fiction book filled with incredibly presumptuous accusations with absolutely zero sources listed anywhere in the book? For people so bent on "preserving the truth" you would think that they would... I dunno...... at least TRY to look like they used any amount of truth while writing the book....
I like the way Miranda Divine writes. Lots of background, facts, names, etc. it really puts the reader in the action of the subjects and conversations. I've read two of her books and I'll read the next one.
I listened to this on audiobook. Well written. Very detailed and outlined. I haven’t fact check any of this but if even a small amount is true and what if all of it is true.. Wow! What a corrupt family the Biden’s are and the whole system is.
Very well researched and written book and a good audio performance. The Biden family is despicable and as I write this, the big guy just pardoned Hunter for 11 years of crimes including going forward. What a bunch of scumbags.
Miranda Devine's 2024 The Big Guy: How a President and His Son Sold Out America follows up on the author's 2021 Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide, now focusing not on the laptop per se but on the younger Biden's business dealings, their possible connection to the elder who always has claimed no involvement, and the various resulting investigations.
The book is dedicated "To the whistleblowers" (2024 Broadside hardcover, page V), briefly introduced in the "Cast of Characters" section as "Gary Shapley, IRS Supervisory Special Agent who blew the whistle on obstruction and slow-walking by prosecutors, the DOJ[,] and CIA in US Attorney David Weiss' criminal investigation of Hunter in Delaware"; "Joe Ziegler, IRS Special Agent turned whistleblower" (page XIX; emphasis original); and "Tony Bobulinski,...Star witness at Joe's impeachment hearing" (page XIV; emphasis original). These three truly are heroes. Shapley and Ziegler, for example, are not professional Biden-haters or even Republicans--one is a Democrat, and gay--but simply dedicated law enforcement officers who, reluctantly but dutifully, at last felt they had to go public about the preferential treatment the Bidens were receiving in the investigations of Hunter.
By now I unfortunately am a couple weeks stale on my read, and because of the work's unfortunate lack of an index, I will not prowl through the text to cite evidence as thoroughly as I would prefer. Instead, I merely will say that although one seeming bombshell witness who claimed that Ukrainian bribes were promised directly to Joe Biden was at last instead convicted in late 2024 of lying, all other matters Devine discusses are indeed of great interest, and highly suggestive of impropriety--definitely Hunter trading on his name and making money by at least promising business partners some connection with, and hence blessings from, his influential father...and perhaps some measure of Joe's knowledge in this as well.
The accounts of Shapley and Ziegler of the hesitance and slow-walking of the investigations against Hunter, which had the potential to lead to Joe, are extremely difficult to dismiss, especially when they are backed up by thorough notes made at the time, along with complaints submitted to supervisors.
The original campaign against Hunter's laptop--the completely false claims on the eve of the 2020 election that it was part of a Russian disinformation operation--is staggeringly suspicious when the author reveals that "[t]he Aspen Institute[,]...a non-profit known as 'the mountain retreat for the liberal elite[,]'...in September 2020...held a 'tabletop exercise' that predicted a theoretical 'hack and leak' dump of Hunter Biden material weeks before the election" (page 130). It was, as Devine observes dryly, a "Nostradamus-like prediction of the Post's upcoming scoop," a form of "'pre-bunking' operation" (page 131), and she quotes the eerie thing for three solid pages (pages 131-33).
And underlying everything, of course, and regardless of irrelevant personal matters--such as whether Hunter was a highly privileged sleaze who formerly used crack, and who would do almost anything to avoid paying child support on the daughter he claimed wasn't his, and who purported disingenuously to have noooo idea about whether the crucial laptop was his or not--are the matters of his tangled business dealings in China and Ukraine, along with the question of whether the Ukrainian prosecutor Joe Biden bragged about pushing out truly was fired for corruption or for his honest investigation of the corporation that employed Hunter at an exorbitant salary. Using news reports, sworn testimony, and her own interviews, the author investigates all with care.
Although, as with the book's predecessor, I sincerely wish it had an index, which would make chasing down various people and events later so, so much easier, Miranda Devine's The Big Guy: How a President and His Son Sold Out America otherwise is a swiftly moving, marvelously researched, eye-opening, shocking, and infuriating 5-star expose very much worth the read.
A friend of mine, who is of the same political bent, gave me this book.
Nothing new if you follow the news at all. It is very detailed though.
Hunter would be tough to have a son—lots of problems that bit Joe in the butt. He was always the second son behind Beau, the anointed one who was to take over the name of Biden in politics. This affected Hunter and his actions. Porn, drugs, corruption, etc. all on his laptop which he stupidly left at a computer repair shop.
With Joe stepping out from running for President, the focus on the Big Guy will disappear. Joe will pardon Hunter after the election as he packs up and heads to Delaware to spend the millions he made off Hunter's grift of foreign governments. Hunter and Joe will both get away with things the average person never would.
