He's wealthy restaurateur Chris Balducci. One might consider him every woman's dream...in and out of the bed. She's Candy. Some might call her an exotic dancer who can get under a man's sheets and under his skin. When a business trip leads to their brief tryst in a gentleman's club, Chris realizes his sweet tooth for Candy is more insatiable than anticipated. But there's a problem. Chris' wife has no clue about his newfound sex life and Candy begins to want more than what's below his belt. One woman will teach Chris the true meaning of "no means yes" and before all is said and done, he'll have her perfume on his neck and blood on his hands.
Alicia Coston lives in Washington D.C. with her husband where material for her sordid tales is plentiful. Alicia is originally from Virginia Beach and attended Old Dominion University where she majored in psychology; perhaps this is a good thing because most of her readers (and her husband) think she's out of her mind. Alicia has been an avid reader since childhood and now writes the type of books she shouldn't have been reading as a little girl. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys cardio kickboxing, drawing, writing and singing music as well as breaking her addiction to pasta. She is also a dedicated advocate of people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Alicia's first book is erotic thriller, "She's Killin' Me".
"She's Killin' Me" is a gritty, erotic thriller about a man, Chris Balducci, who has a successful restaurant and is looking to open another in Virginia Beach with the help of his architect cousin. Due to the demands of his business, his marriage is failing. Once he goes to open the new restaurant, he falls for the seduction of young, black stripper by the name of Candy. After meeting her, his life falls apart and he has a murder on his conscious.
"She's Killin' Me" was really good. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
Is it safe to get off of this ride????? What a thrilling and cleverly written story about a once faithful husband (Chris) that makes a huge mistake when he cheats on his wife (sylvia).
Chris is a successful Italian Restaurant owner that finds trouble when he visits his cousin Vince. Vince takes Chris to a strip club were he meets Connie aka "Candy". Both turned on and apprehensive at first, Chris is soon caught up by Candy's appeal.
You would think that the infidelity was the biggest mistake....well no, Chris first mistake was trusting the wrong people.
She's Killin' Me was a great read for me because the reader gets Drama, Suspense and Erotica all in one book.
The layout of the book cover smeared and drizzled in red blotches is an automatic sign of bloodshed and that's if the blatant title that's so fitting for the book didn't give it away first. The design is simplistic yet speaks volumes.
Glimpse Into The Characters...
Chris is a successful restaurant owner with his sights on opening another. They say what's good for business is location, location, location, but in this case if he would not have decided on establishing his second spot in Virginia Beach, he wouldn't have met the woman who would entrap him in more ways than he could have ever expected.
Sylvia is Chris' wife and she makes her demands of her husband known. She is an unhappy with his dedication to expanding his business and stretching time she doesn't feel he has to spare. She becomes distant and a strain is created although she does a good job maintaining wife duties.
Vince is Chris' cousin/architectural designer who is more connected to him outside of sharing the same genes. He is a rich playboy but ultimately all his money can't afford what price he is to pay for wanting the wrong merchandise.
Connie is illusory, clever. She was a master puppeteer. The art of deception must have been her major in college because she held a PHD in it. She was so brilliant she was mad. Beware of the Connie's of the world if you stand on the wrong side of her wrath, they aren't good for your health.
High Points...
In a nutshell the ingenuity put into the twists of developing this suspense makes this entire book one big high from the trunk where you first meet Chris to the bitter end where you'll have to discover for self what chaos brewed.
Kill Scenes...
The only kill scenes were the murders that occurred.
The Conclusion...
These were actors and actresses on paper. Everyone knew their roles. I was able to connect to the roller coaster of emotions with Chris, from the suspense, anxiety, frustration, longing and more. I was able to shake my damn head at Connie's assumed bi-polar ways and master manipulations, flung my mouth open at Sylvia, Elaine and Vince... I wasn't expecting those curve balls. Everyone was committed to their storyline and that's important when developing a plot.
Erotic means causing sexual feelings. Ms. Coston created sex scenes that were orchestrated perfectly. All were vivid without being over the top. Whether it was raunchy, passion filled or a quick session, she had me engaged. The definition of a thriller is a story full of exciting action, mystery, adventure, or suspense. Webster just defined this book for me.
I have a GET or SH*T list to all potential readers. This book is a GET! (This book recieves 5 torches)
Alicia Coston...Your book has just been blazed! Your joint is on fiyah!
