Feel everything… you can cry and keep your eyes on the road at the same time. To everyone who is searching for peace… I hope that this book helps you to accept your past, embrace the present moment, and get excited about your future. I hope this book helps you to keep your eyes on the road.
The timing of this book was so incredible for me. I read it over the span of a few weeks and every time I picked it up, the message was exactly aligned with something I’d just been thinking about. Michell’s wisdom rings through the pages—you can feel the love that was put into this collection as you read it. If you’ve been on a healing journey for a while and are on the precipice of your next transformation, you need to read this.
It is good for my soul to be reminded that I am allowed to take up space, allowed to fail, allowed to dream. I know books like this aren’t for everyone, but with an open heart and an open mind, this is exactly what I needed today and I know it’ll be a book I return to on hard days when I just need to be reminded that things will be okay.
Thank you to Thought Catalog and Michell C. Clark for the ARC. This is one of the first poetry/self-care books I've read and I really enjoyed it. I felt like it was kinda ironic that I wanted to wait for the New Year to start reading this book when it mentioned we shouldn't wait for the new year to begin new things, but I felt like I read it at the correct time because I can relate to a lot of what it talks about and the advice will be useful to me to think about. I really also love this cover so much.
- maybe i'm too cynical or whatever but to me this was just a glorified collection of pinterest quotes - like not really any new ideas presented, just regurgitation of the typical self care/motivational talk that's popular right now on social media - not that there's anything wrong with what's being said! but i've heard it all before - the first and last passages where the author connects what he's saying back to his personal experience were my favorites, i wish there was more of that instead of keeping everything super general

A beautifully digestible guide to self-love and self-compassion as it guides you on a journey to stepping into your full power. So many reassuring affirmations, heartfelt anecdotes, and Michell's unique gift of taking complex concepts of the human condition and breaking them down into concise bits. Everyone needs "Eyes on The Road" in their library - at arm's length on any given day as a resource in reminding us of our growth journey and that "by virtue of your existence, you're worth celebrating."
This might be one of the most important books you could ever read. It has earned its place as my number one favorite poetry book. This book of introspective poetry feels like a hug from a younger you, a warm blanket for the current you, and a pat on the back from an older you. This book is a warm embrace from a therapist, a “you got this” from a teacher, and a “I’m here with you” from a spiritual guide. So yeah… 5 stars. 10/10 recommend. I will be purchasing copies for the people I care about the most.
This book was so instrumental to me learning how to love myself and focus on filling my cup. I love this book so much mostly because it is such a simple read, but at the same time the thoughts and phrases and short paragraphs are so impactful that you constantly have to put the book down and really think about what you just read. I would recommend this book to anyone that is on a self-care journey are a self discovery journey.
This book is excellent and very impactful. For anyone who feels lost and as though there is no light at the end of the tunnel, it really does provide clarity and the motivation to keep moving forward. The book includes many quotes that I resonated with and now use as daily affirmations. 100% recommend this to all as unlike most self-help books, it is not cliché and instead has quotes that hit-home and inspire.
The last pages of this book made the other pages more meaningful. At first I thought it was too simple, not deep enough. Still, the truth of Clark’s words resonated with things I wish I had heard before I was solidly in the third quarter of my life. It is like a companion who has your best interests at heart. A friend who knows you and loves you anyway just as you are. A reminder to recognize how far you’ve come and equip yourself to keep going.
I absolutely love this book and the author. He makes optimism, hope, love, and peace so accessible in the form of short form pieces. It’s perfect to read on a rainy day, perfect to read on a sunny day, perfect to share with friends, and perfect to pick up when you’re in a moment of uncertainty and loss.
I found Michell on Instagram and after being inspired by his words of wisdom, took a leap to get his book. I have loved reading a few pages each day before I start journaling. The affirmations, encouragement and daily reminders are beautiful, succinct and powerful.
This book is so impactful and powerful. Michell's words are so inspiring and have helped me through some challenging times. I highly recommend this book to everyone. It will be the source of inspiration and encouragement that you need in your life.
I have read this book three times within a month, it’s a game changer for me and I wouldn’t mind reading it for the fourth time. As I read the first few pages of the book, almost every word resonated with me.
Just finished reading Eyes on The Road by @MichellCClark - this book came at the right time for me. Thank you for your uplifting words. Will forever remember this book.
You can tell when someone’s work is full of wisdom from personal experience. Michell’s work is that—through and through. I’ll be referring to this book for years to come, especially on my hard days.
