“The Critical Failures books are some of the funniest LitRPG books I've ever read.” —Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl
Dave wakes up in a tavern with a hangover, a vague sense of dread… and a furious dwarf claiming Dave got her pregnant.
Eight and a half months ago.
Unfortunately, Dave remembers absolutely nothing about it.
Now Dave and his friends must figure out what actually happened that night while dealing with the horrifying possibility that Dave might actually have to become a responsible adult
But as the night spirals deeper into drunken chaos, the truth behind Dave’s supposed fatherhood turns out to be even worse—and far more embarrassing—than anyone expected.
In the world of Caverns & Creatures, bad decisions don’t stay buried… especially after eight and a half months.
If you enjoy raunchy fantasy comedy, tabletop RPG humor, and adventurers making spectacularly terrible life choices, this standalone story is for you.
No prior reading required—just a tolerance for excessive vulgarity.
I normally make it a rule never to buy short stories but this is Robert Bevan and Caverns & Creatures so you really have to support one of the funniest series going Just a little sample while we are waiting for the next big one, mabe not quite as funny as some of the others but us starving folk will take what we can get

The boys are drinking up a storm when a person comes up to the table. The person says 'Do you remember me from 8 1/2 months ago?' Dave does not remember!
I would recommend this novella and author to readers of fantasy world 🌐 adventure thriller novels ✨🎆 2025 🙄🤓
A funny story entering into the game world as an avatar. It was a lot like a drunken party on steroids. just remember there are other things in dwarf language that sound like a bun in the oven.
Just like this whole series, a group of friends stuck in a fantasy world continue getting more and more stuck. And find new ways to humiliate each other.
It's good to visit Cardinia again! This was a fun short story. We get to watch the boys fumble through yet encounter. And while I love the main story line, it's nice to see the gang all together
