How "RELEVANT" is the church choir in the 21st century? There are three kinds of singers in most church choirs today. First, there is the 'volunteer' singer, who shows up because he or she attends the church and enjoys singing. Second, there is the 'committed' singer, who is there because of the first two reasons, plus enjoys being a part of something where the whole is greater than the sum. The third kind of singer is in the choir, yes, for all three reasons above, but also and mostly because he or she understands that there is a call of God on their life to lead the worship of the assembled congregation. This call from God supersedes all of the other reasons by which we typically find ourselves in the choir loft. This Call also refutes the argument that the choir is not 'relevant' in today's Church. The Choir may take different forms and make different sounds than in days gone by, but as an entity, it emanates from the very heart of God. Do the members of your choir understand this Calling? Have they come to understand and walk in their role as worship leader? Most would say they have not even considered the possibility. The Singer's Edition of the new book, "God's Singers", addresses this shortfall of understanding. Broken down into 5 - 7 minute segments which can serve as devotional times concluding rehearsals, it is specifically designed to help choir members everywhere discover the Call of God on their very lives, and to help them purposefully and passionately find their way. This book can bring focus, direction and hope to every choir member. Please join in the great Worship Leading Choir Revolution of the 21st century!
So blessed by this book! It was out of print for purchase and Mike Harland (wrote the forward for this book) was kind enough to send me a copy! So helpful and practical and I will continuously go back to this book for guidance.
