FBI Special Agents Stella Knox and Hagen Yates are closer than ever to tracking down the one criminal they want to bring to justice more than any other—Joel Ramirez, the dirty FBI agent who ordered the deaths of their fathers. But one horrifying case has bled into the next since Stella moved to Nashville’s Violent Crimes Unit. This time, it’s a shooting in broad daylight near a jewelry store. An apparent robbery.
Except the victim, a two-bit gold trader, is tied to a corruption case in Miami. And the killer didn’t take anything. Not the bag of gold jewelry on the victim. Not the twenty thousand dollars cash in his pocket. And nothing from the jewelry store.
It doesn’t make sense.
When another gold dealer connected with a real estate development in Miami turns up dead, Stella and Hagen take their investigation to Florida. Stolen gold, high-stakes investments, and a shocking connection that hits a little too close to home for Stella intertwine in a web of murder and deceit. Can Stella untangle it before the killer strikes again?

This is another great ARC from Mary Stone. This is a great continuation of the series. Stella and Hagen are getting closer to finding the man who killed their fathers, but first they get a new case. It starts with the daylight shooting of a gold dealer and nothing is stolen. It's a strange situation, this man has a wad of cash and a bag of gold jewelry. Then another gold dealer is found dead and it seems like it might have connections to Miami Florida. When they arrive they find things are run different then they are in Nashville. They immediately but heads with the SAC and Stella has to spend time with her mom and stepdad. Their case may also be connected to a case the Miami office is working on pay offs in the Planning and Zoning Office. Then a Gold dealer is found dead in his burned out store. Meantime back in Nashville things are happening with Joel Rameriz and Samantha.
KILLER DEAL is the eleventh installment in the Stella Knox FBI Mystery Series by Mary Stone and Stacy O’Hare. This series never dissapoints in bringing us a chilling thriller with a twisted and gruesome plot. As usual, Mary and Stacy have written another story full of drama, suspense, surprises.
Stella and Hagen are investigating a murder of a jewelry broker, the strange thing, his pockets are still full of gold. Soon another gold dealer is murdered with a suitcase of gold spilled on him. Why wasn't the gold or anything taken?
Their investigation will lead our FBI duo to the FBI office in Miami. While the Agents are friendly, their SSA definitely is not. Even when clues lead to participants in a year long investigation, SSA Roland prohibits them from interviewing anyone tied to her case. Just how can they close a case when they can't interview suspects or witnesses?
If you enjoy a good thriller, I highly recommend this series. You will find it hard to say no to a book from Mary and Stacy.
This is a very interesting story in the series. Stella and Hagen have to travel to Florida to help the Miami office. Though in the middle of the local strange killings and eager to follow Joel, they end up chasing the clues in Miami and solving both cases eventually. The investigation is tense and local SSA (pain in the but lol) makes it even harder. The manipulation, the greed, loyalty and disloyalty, power control and murders go on without any possible motif, it picks up a frantic pace, when Stella’s family is involved and killer is pushed in the corner. Along all of this, the Sis and Joel’s story goes on and makes you shiver. Then the crowning moment: The end again! Oh my. I love surprises. Thank you Mary. Bravo. 👏
As Stella & her partner Hagen get closer to finding Joel Ramirez, a murder takes place outside a jewelry store. However, no jewelry is stolen. As the investigation continues to unfold, clues seem to lead to stolen gold involving cases in Miami Florida. As they team up with the Miami branch, the case detours to a scandal involving crooked real estate deals. Since Stella's Mom & new step-father live there, she gets to visit with them. Is her stepfather involved? The cases overlap & there is so many twists & turns, you won't be able to stop reading to keep up with the exciting finish.
Special Agent Stella know and her partner Special Agent Hagen Yates are interesting to say the least. They have so many things going on personally with both their fathers having been murdered by an old friend and coworker of Stella's dad and Hadens also. Now they are involved in a Murder investigation and are being sent out of state to follow up on some promising clues they found.
You will enjoy this book, I think as much as I did. I had a hard time stopping my reading to do other things. Read the whole series, it all fits together so nicely
FBI Special Agents Stella Knox and Hagen are closing in on the one person that they want for the murders of their fathers...Joel Ramirez but get called away to another case for the FBI. Little did they know what was coming as their case and the case in Florida are connected in a dark way. I enjoyed how we are learning more about this terrible man that Stella used to call Uncle. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
ach! Stella’s work ends up impacting her mother and stepfather
Odd crimes speckle Nashville - property crimes where only gold jewelry is taken, without regard to high-end electronics or objets d’art.
Sudden homicides of two of Nashville’s known dealers in stolen gold, with both gold and cash left behind, prove to have an out-of-state link, sending Stella and Hagen to Florida.
Who knew golf could be so captivating? Stella & Hagen in tracking down a killer head to Miami. The Miami office is working on a case of bribery but it has t gone anywhere in over a year. With S&Hs help, against the SSAs wishes, they finally get enough evidence to push their case forward. Now onto their case which, unfortunately involved Stella’s stepfather.
Stella and Hagen have been called in to share info with another district as it appears their 2 cases might have some connections. The meeting between the two offices does not go smoothly, in fact very badly. After much conversation the team is tasked with solving their case and going back where they came from.
While investigating a series of shoots Stella and Hagan find a link in Florida. Upon meeting the lead FBI agent they encounter a lot of antagonism and pushback denying the connection. Stella and Hagan attend her stepfathers birthday party where they come upon a clue to crack the case. In Georgia an old enemy rears their ugly head adding to the mayhem.
Killer Deal(Stella Knox FBI Mystery Series Book 11)
This was am amazing book. Stella and Hagen solved another case, they also got to go to Florida, to see Stella's mom and follow the gold. It is truly amazing, the way this story is written, it makes me believe that the FBI is actually working the case. I can't wait for the next book.
Double crosses abound! Stella and Hagen continue to work on cases that somehow help them uncover more and more about dirty ex-FBI agent Rameriz and his cohorts in crime. This case has dealers of gold and jewelry being killed but not necessarily robbed. And, of course, they are linked to a bigger chain which convolutes everything. A lot of action in this fun read.
Mary Stone is a very good author, but this story did not appeal to me as much as most of her books do. Stella and Hagen continue their investigation together in Miami. Someone is killing gold dealers. This book was good, but I had no trouble putting it down. That's the only reason I gave it a 4 rating.
Killer Deal written by Mary Stone and Stacy O’Hare was a well written, page turner mystery, that was action packed, and loaded with a storyline that keeps you turning pages until the end. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Have read this series since the beginning and while i enjoy and read all of Marys books this one is my absolute favorite. Something about Stella reeled me in and i have never stopped reading. Love watching Stella and Hagens characters develop. Hope this series continues for a long time
The connection to Stella’s stepdad seemed a bit random but I like the development of Stella and Havana relationship. Still wish there at least appeared to be more time between their cases - they can’t be the only FBI agents in TN!
This is a good series by Mary Stone. I love all her books but this is a series that always keeps me guessing. Start with her series With Winter Black if you are new to her but this one stands alone.
This was a great book. One of the better ones. Well done and a few good twists thrown in. Glad that Stella and Hagen are back on track with each other. Can't wait for the next book.
Joel is even crueler than Samantha. Enjoyed the switch to Miami and wasn't surprised to see Stella and Hagen help solve their fellow agents case, and close theirs as well. Not happy about the 11 month wait for #12 though.
Love this series as you never know what to expect. The twist and turns are interesting and thrilling. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!
One of my favorite authors and this is a great series. If you like crime, murder, FBI, etc., the stories and characters in this series will reel you in. Start with book 1 so you don’t miss anything
GREAT BOOK WELL WRITTEN WITH A STORYLINE TO KEEP YOU TURNING PAGES TILL THE END. THE CHARACTERS ARE LIKABLE AND WELL-WRITTEN. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT BOOK
