Oh my, I loved Mom Coms prequel novella so much. It gives the right tone of this new series. All of the girls are on crossroads in their lives trying hard to figure out how to continue when everything is such a mess . I can't wait to see just in how much trouble they can get themselves into. And all the shenanigans that involve a Boston brown house, seven children , four women and the men that will inevitably fall for them. And Liv and Beckett's story is in its beginning. Yay!!!

Such a fun introduction to the moms! Love this💕
The prologue of the MomCom series! It stands for Mom Commune, not Mom Comedy, though it should as this book was funny AF. We were introduced to 4 moms, who all will get their books:

▶️Liam “Demon Spawn” (15yo) - Wear headphones all the time

Mother Pucker - 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆
𝓢𝓱𝓪𝔂𝓵𝓪 “Pipsqueak”- Widowed single mom, she’s overbearing and a hypochondriac
▶️Kai "Iceman"(8yo) - Overprotected by his mom, not allowed to eat junk food

Mother Hater- 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆

I loved that the authors of this series introduced us to each of their girls in this way! In Mom Coms we meet Liv, Shay, Delia & Dylan a group of best friends and mothers who always support and love each other unconditionally, BUT who are in difficult moments in their lives and keep secrets from each other, secrets that include their families, professional lives and make them feel insufficient. However, they find a perfect solution that gives rise to this new and interesting series.

“Mom Coms” is a prequel novella that introduces the reader to the moms of the Momcoms books, a 4 book series/shared world written by authors Brittanee Nicole, Jenni Bara, Swati M.H., and Daphne Elliot.

I felt like this little novella gives the reader insight to the personalities of all four moms, and even though it was short, I thought it was really entertaining, and it made me excited to start the first book.

Such a fabulous series!

I’m stopping in here because this prequel may be your first exposure to this series written by group of four writers.

It is topnotch! The writing feels seamless between books. The voice of each character is strong, even the other three moms that are written by other authors.

It’s an excellent collaboration and I highly recommend it.

Loved the introduction to every fmc we will read about and how the whole idea of the Mom Com got to be in the first place.

A super interesting twist to what will be stories of seemingly overused tropes (definitely no hate, but all the love).

Four best friends, seven kids, a falling down brownstone, and a pact to support and stay together. Add in the four men that sweep these single mums off their feet and what could go wrong?

The MomCom Series is one that I couldn’t get enough of and have flown through. When it was first announced I loved the concept of four struggling single mums who’ve been friends since college moving into one house and creating their own mum support community and the execution turned out to be pretty much flawless.

Meet the Mums:
Liv - the plus sized newly divorced single mum of three who is calm and professional on the outside.
Dylan - the laid back single mum of a teen who keeps everyone laughing and brings the fun to everyday life.
Shayla - the widowed ‘ball of nerves’ single mum of one who is regimented but used to be a carefree spirit.
Delia - the workaholic ‘man hater’ single mum of twins who is a little high maintenance and very sassy.

Each of these women had their own quirks, their own parenting styles, and were in need of support in different ways. I loved seeing this ride or die dynamic play out and how it carried over into their children. Before eventually including the four men who swept each mum off their feet and fit into the larger family dynamic perfectly.

Meet the Men:
Beckett - the grumpy billionaire who is very particular about everything but a softie at heart.
Cortney - the over thinking Baseball player who is a cinnamon roll hero and very protective.
Rowan - the flirty Hockey player who believes rules are made to be broken.
Enzo - the quick witted and grumpy company owner who meets his match when it comes to trading barbs.

Each romance had its own main tropes and felt unique to the others in the series. The four books fitted together seamlessly in both plot and character development and despite there being four authors to this series even the writing styles between books was seamless.

This is a series I have loved and for more on the prologue see below.

Rating: 3/5 stars

Main Tropes/Features: Prologue to series - introduces main characters and establishes setting, Single parent (Mother), Found family, Multiple POVS

Triggers: Past event of a spouse dying due to Cancer.

Featured within Book 1 of the series, this prologue serves to introduce us to each of the single mums, establish their friendship, and set the scene for them deciding to move in together. Told in multiple POVs (the four heroines) it is a short prologue that is an easy read and will have you diving straight into the series.

Spicy and Full of Heart Mom Com Series

Mother Faker by Brittanee Nicole, Mother Maker by Jenni Bara, Mother Hater by Daphne Elliott, and Mother Pucker by Swati M. Sharma

Could you imagine living in a brownstone with all your besties coparenting in the most efficient way. Just girl bossing together to make motherhood your bitch?! The MomCom series is a delightfully addictive mix of Hallmark sweetness and modern spice, centering on single moms who find love, healing, and new beginnings in unexpected ways. Each book has its own flavor, but together they form a binge-worthy world of strong women, swoony men, and happily ever afters that feel both fun and affirming.

Mother Faker by Brittanee Nicole is my absolute favorite of the four and a perfect series kickoff. Liv and Beckett’s story hooked me instantly and pulled me out of a reading slump. What more could you ask for? A single mom swept into a shotgun Vegas wedding that becomes a fake marriage for family approval, only to blossom into real love and real marriage. The ultimate Easter egg about Beckett you’ll have to read the series to find out what happens in the elevator…

Mother Maker by Jenni Bara brings Dylan’s whimsical story to life! She has faced endless judgment in her past, but finds acceptance and love with Courtney, a man who matches her in strength and kindness. It’s short, sweet, and spicy, with an oopsy pregnancy that is almost Hallmark worthy, but way steamier that makes the series so fun.

Mother Pucker by Swati M. Sharma veers spicier. Rowan and Shay’s older-woman, younger-man dynamic is different than the others, even if the book felt a bit different in tone from the rest of the series it’s still good. While not my favorite, it adds to the story as a whole.

Mother Hater by Daphne Elliott is another standout, with Delia and Enzo pairing up in a sharp enemies-to-lovers arc. Full of banter and sizzling chemistry, it balances heart with humor. Watching these two shift from antagonists to partners was immensely satisfying ending.

Overall, the MomCom series offers a perfect blend of humor, heart, and spice. Each book celebrates women being their own hero by finding their voices, their loves, and their families on their own terms. Whether you’re looking for a cute fake-marriage-to-real-love trope, enemies-to-lovers banter, heartfelt stories of single moms finding their happily ever afters, or spice like a gold dildo that will make you blush this series delivers.

If you’ve ever wanted an inside look at the hilarious and heart warming world of four single moms trying to hold their lives together, this novella is the perfect introduction to The Momcoms series. It works as an origin story—showing how these women reconnect, unravel a little, and ultimately rebuild something stronger together—and I enjoyed every minute of it.

The story opens with Liv, who’s juggling a cheating soon-to-be ex, two kids, and her demanding job as PR head for billionaire Beckett Langfield. When Beckett insists she join him on a work trip the same weekend as her annual moms’ getaway, she refuses—only for him to suggest she bring her friends along. What follows is a much-needed escape filled with wine, honesty, and the kind of confessions that only surface when the kids are far, far away.

Each woman’s storyline adds depth to the group. Shayla’s grief over losing her husband is especially moving; she pours everything into her son and struggles to loosen her grip, even on vacation. Delia, who left her law firm after being unfairly passed over for partner, is spiralling between unemployment, a rundown brownstone, and twin daughters who never sit still. And then there’s Dylan—the comedic heartbeat of the group—whose laid-back energy, questionable hobbies, and absolute fearlessness make her impossible not to love.

What makes this novella shine is the way their separate struggles collide into one hopeful decision: to live together, raise their kids under one roof, and lean on each other instead of pretending everything is fine. It’s found family at its best.

The audiobook narration adds even more charm, but the real star is the premise—fresh, funny, and genuinely heart warming. This novella sets the stage beautifully, and I’m already excited for the full series.

This book is a prologue for the momcoms series which gives us the back story to Liv, Delia, Shayla, and Dylan’s lives before their individual books branch off. Before reading this, I had already read Mother Hater as I was given an ARC prior to publishing, but I had not yet read the prologue or three prior books. I absolutely loved every single character in Mother Hater and saw many, many reviews about the rest of the series on IG, so I put them on my TBR list I’m glad I did! The found family these four women/moms experience is one I’d share with any friend looking for a hilarious rom com with a side of spice!

In reading Mother Hater, I got to experience all of the characters since it was the fourth book in the series so backing up to start with the prologues, I learned more about the individual personalities of each character. I walked away with the knowledge of Dylan being the extra quirky one who believes in listening to the universe and letting it direct you yet she is the glue who holds their friend group together. You really see and feel this in the prologues and it makes me excited to go back and read books 1-3 now.

Each author did a fantastic job of creating distinctively different characters who work well together, having met as college roommates over 15 years ago. And I have to mention Beckett, because he is an integral character in the entire series, including the additional spin offs recently published by Brittanee and Jenni. The prologue does a great job of teeing up Beckett’s …. Beckett-ness 😂 there really is no other way to explain him except he is who he is and he is unyielding to all, especially when it comes to Liv.

I recommend this short combination of prologues prior to reading the series, but it can be read during or after, too.

This is a prequel to a series of 4 (novels? novellas? I'm not totally sure, because they're not on Goodreads yet and their Amazon listings don't have a page count) books, written by 4 different authors and featuring 4 BFFs and their (eventual) HEAs. As its own story it's a bit disjointed--we do get introduced to each of the women in their respective chapters, but for BFFs who are on a long-awaited girls' trip together, we only see all 4 of them on the page together in the final chapter, the last 19% or so of the book, which feels...strange, since we are already 2+ days into their vacay. The absolute last page finally gives us the premise for the series

So...it's a decent intro to each woman and her individual situation, but the group dynamic and the background for their new "mom com" way of life aren't really fully developed. Still, it's a free read, and can give you an idea of each author's writing style.

(Also--I get why the series is called Mom Coms, but why is that the name of this book? They're only making one "mom community...")

This was an amazing quick read that left me quite literally wishing the other books were available to devour! When 4 talented authors come together, you can expect amazing things (and book boyfriends!). Mom Coms is the prequel to set the stage for 4 books coming our way! In it, we are introduced to the 4 main women we will most assuredly come to love. All are moms…all have been friends for a very long time…and all are struggling in some way with life. But they always get together for one fun weekend, and this prequel takes place there. We walk away introduced to the moms, their pains/worries, and the hope of what will come. I am so excited for the next 4 books to learn more about them and watch their progression!

Loved this introduction to the Momcoms series. We meet the four women, all moms at the build up to their yearly women-only get away weekend. All four women are dealing with some sort of crisis in their own lives, that they don't feel they can share with the others and not look like failures. There was so much packed into this novella and the authors had me laughing out loud so many times. I can't wait to start this series based on this novella and I have moved book 1 into my reading que ahead of a series I have been reading over the past couple of months. Really strong prequel that has me so excited to get into this series.

“We all move into Delia’s house together!” I clap my hands, giving them my brightest smile. “We fix it up, raise our kids, and support each other. We’ll mom-com this shit up!”
“Mom-com?” Liv frowns.
“Yeah, mom community.” I smile. “How fun will that be?”

This definitely got me excited for this series! The easiest way to my heart is a good female friendship group so i'm pumped to start this!

This is basically 4 chapters written by 4 different people, however, it's a great prologue to a series that I'm looking forward to reading. This little bite-size story will be good to have around to review each individual chapter before reading its corresponding book as each book in the series is written by the different authors.

This prequel novella was everything I expected and more! This is going to be my first series that is written by multiple authors. All 4 girls have their own issues in life and go on a girls trip.

At the end of the girls trip they realize something that could fix all their problems. And I cannot wait to see what the books in this series brings for the girls.

Really like the book! Beckett is perfection, love him so much!!
However, Liv was getting so annoying with her lack of confidence. The worst part was until the end she though Beckett didn't like her and the kids when he was just so freaking wonderful with them. He deserved better than her ( and seriously, not wanting to leave the house with her friends? Get a hold on your life)
