I found In The Temple to be an incredible read. Once again, AJ pulls the reader into the story so deeply that they cannot stop reading until the book is finished. The pacing is expertly set up creating a sense of urgency in the reader. The characters are well-developed. While I inferred who the killer was early on, AJ skillfully seeded doubt in my mind with little twists.

I'm not sure how I feel about an entire chapter about a future book's main storyline, or perhaps it will only be remarked upon in passing throughout the series. I understand revealing more about the overarching storyline, but this one almost seemed to be the lead into this particular book. It certainly grabbed my attention, but when I realized I wouldn't be learning anything else about it in this book I felt a little let down.

I still highly recommend this book to everyone and eagerly look forward to the next in the series,

More Twists than a Cinnamon Roll

A. J. Scudiere is on the elite list of thriller writers to whom you are utterly addicted and eagerly await each new book, worship the paper they write on, and with whom you would never, ever want to be caught alone in an elevator.

Seriously, tremendously gifted thriller writers only come along so often. The names King, Koontz, and Scudiere are at the top of the list. After reading In The Temple (The Hangman's Shadow Book 2), I'd put Scudiere on top.

In The Temple starts out as a seemingly simple investigation that builds in intensity and complexity to a tangled knot of familial betrayal choking a community to death.

By the time you are finished with the book, you'll be exhausted. I chewed through my fingernails waiting for the conclusion. A great Thriller is one in which you never see the end coming. In The Temple is a great Thriller. Don't take my word for it, read it yourself.

In the Temple is the second book in the Hangman Series by A J Scudiere. I have read most of the Ms. Scudiere’'s books. And enjoyed them all.
Jesse is a private investigator who is hired by the family of a young man who was convicted of murdering a young girl. The family refuses to believe that he is guilty one.
Georgia is recruited to help – she is looking for her mother Sin who has disappeared.
Cindy is a clairvoyant who helped in the first book and has decided she will help on the condition they help her with her vision of two murders - finding the culprit.
As they investigate and interview everyone, they start to figure out what is going on. I really enjoyed the writing and how the three women became friends and allies.
I recommend the series – for me it helped to have read the first one –

This is the first time I have not known how to write a review that will give this book the justice it deserves. Our 3 main characters are once again entangled in murder, intrigue, and their own personal demons. Every moment I felt I had solved the crimes (in my head), another crazy twist sent the storyline in a completely different direction. I was thoroughly sucked into our 3 female leads fighting to solve past and present day crimes while utilizing their personal talents and holding their personal demons at bay. All I can do is try to forget I have to wait for the next book! Fantastic read, fantastic series!

PI Jesse is hired to find evidence to exonerate a man that, according to his family, is wrongly incarcerated for the murder of a young woman 17 years earlier. Georgia helped Jesse on her last case and agrees to join the investigation. Not making much progress, they engage the special talents of Cindy who also helped in the previous case. What follows is an intriguing story where more people related to the case have died. Were they murdered as part of a cover up? Are the deaths related? How? Another spellbinding read in the Hangman’s Shadow series. Read this book to find the answers and solve the mystery.

This has to be one of the best books that AJ has written. I absolutely loved it, it had everything anyone could possibly want in a novel. It had excitement, intrigue, and mystery, action and humor. I'm so glad that the three girls will to stay together. They make one heck of a team. Anyone who enjoys a good murder mystery should not miss this book. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning all the way to the end. A very well-written novel, and I loved it.

I love how AJ pulls you right into the book so well that you can't put it down until it's finished! A cold case mystery even the accused doesnt want reopened! Love that the girls decided to stick together, they really compliment each other. If you love murder mysteries, you'll absolutely want to read this series. Check out AJ's other books too, you won't be disappointed.

As so many (actually ALL) of AJ's books, I loved every page of this one. Jesse and Georgia find themselves together again, working on more than one case when they are joined by an unexpected friend. Are three heads better than two? I guess it depends on what each brings to the table. This is definitely a great read and already has me anticipating book #3!
