My cursed life fractured again when five Lethium mages stormed my guild, demanding I break their hexes. Against my better judgment, I was swept into their whirlwind of arcane chaos. Casper and Jasper, the psychotic twin mages, one light and one dark, shattered my resolve every chance they got. Aimon, the caring earth mage broke down my walls one meal at a time. Bastian, the quirky potion mage stole my breath with each failing elixir. Silas, the insufferable dual-classed mage annoyed the spirit out of me with every empire-damned opinion he spouted. As I worked to undo their hexes, a world-shattering threat unfurled its wings, casting a shadow over us all.

I liked this book for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Fawn is badass. So often you get the young heroine who doesn’t know she has powers or how to use them and the guys help her. This time, she runs the show, knows how powerful she is and how capable. I really liked that. There was lots of good character development, particularly Silas but I think Aimon is my favourite. I didn’t expect where the Matthieu storyline would go though it was obvious there was something shady with him. It made for a really interesting read overall.
DNF. I purchased this novel through KU, and although it drew me in, I couldn't finish the entire series. I only managed to get through book one. However, I rated book one as 4 out of 5 stars. For my full review, click here: https://youtu.be/9_NtqgfOlOQ

I rounded up. Overall I really enjoyed this trilogy. I liked the main character and she had a lot of depth. The men in her life were not nearly as interesting. I also got seriously annoyed by the constant prayer for blessing from the realm. There were flaws that I haven’t encountered previously with this author. General spoiler: The bad guy’s evil was never explained beyond that he was insane. No clear explanation was given for who made him immortal or why.
The story line was great and engaging. I barely put the book down, binge reading it curled up with a blanket and my dog during crummy weather. It has the perfect balance of love, action, sexy times, and demise of evil. I can't wait to read more from Lyra Winters.
