In the Miami-Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau, detectives are typically assigned to lead five to seven homicide cases a year as well as assist with dozens of other cases. Perseverance is key. For Detective Max Hahn, solving a homicide is like solving a puzzle. Some are harder and more time-consuming than others, but it is the challenging ones that prove to be the most rewarding. From a case of self-defense to another involving a serial killer, Hahn's investigations reflect a dedication to justice, and provides a fascinating narrative on the role of a homicide detective.
Tightly and concisely written, the author gives insight into a complicated and serial homicide investigative police procedures in Miami Florida. It encourages me to be thankful for and pray for the police force in our country!
Brett Nichols’ book chronicles a complicated homicide investigation from start to finish. It is well written and gives the reader unparalleled insight into the procedures used during a murder investigation that only a former homicide cop would know. It reads very much like a Michael Connelly book with Detective Hahn assuming the role of Harry Bosch. A real page turner that is hard to put down. Those in law enforcement will appreciate the “inside baseball” terminology and descriptions of the crime scenes.
