WOW! I have a pile of business books I don't always get to. Someone mentioned this one on LinkedIn and I was intrigued. This is perfect timing to read this book - I mean that for everyone reading this review. You will have at least 5 key takeaways you can implement right away. You'll notice the difference in your life within a day and it only gets better. I've become more aware of negative situations as they start to happen and am able to quickly switch direction or take action. I sleep better. I'm grateful to Anthony Iannarino for writing this book. I was so moved by it, I sent a few friends this book as gifts. I've already heard from two - through tears - that they appreciated I cared enough to send them such a powerful book. His warmth, self-deprecating humor, real stories had me nodding along as I highlighted and dogeared this book.
This is just a well written book about increasing your positivity and reducing your negativity and ways that you can go about doing it. I enjoy reading about human behavior, why it happens and how we can change it. This book is for those that are interested in making a positive impact on their daily lives.
The book is about a personal journey of overcoming negativity and developing a structured approach to guide others through a 90-day “Negativity Fast.” The author, once very negative, decided to eliminate sources of negativity from their life, including their mindset and found that this approach significantly improved their well-being.
Over time, they refined the method into a comprehensive guide that includes practical, science-backed strategies for reducing negativity and increasing positivity. The text outlines the harmful effects of negativity on mental health, physical health, and relationships, and emphasizes the importance of fostering a positive mindset for personal well-being and to help others.
The chapters in the book cover various techniques like gratitude, reframing negative events, avoiding complaining, and dealing with political divisiveness, all aimed at helping readers shift from a negative to a positive state of mind.
This book is very funny because the author clearly has an angry voice that is pressed loudly throughout this whole narrative, so preaching against the negativity in our modern society and Publishing a book when you're in the state of mind seems hypocritical, good motives but I think this would be published if the author was in a better mental place.
This was such a great book to start my year with. I loved the statistics and down-to-earth science-backed suggestions. This book is all about shifting your mindset and perspective to help you reduce negativity in your life. Even if you don't do a 100% "Negativity Fast," the suggestions and examples are great at pointing out ways you may be inviting more negativity into your life than you'd prefer and offering simple solutions to combat them.
