Nell Harper tumbles from the world of the humans into the veiled domain of the fae after struggling through her life for so long. As she ventures further into this unfamiliar place, Nell discovers the unsettling truth that her memories have been stolen. Determined to reclaim what's rightfully hers, she embarks on a journey that will test her resilience like never before.

Guided by her instincts, and cat, she must unravel the tangled web of deceit and betrayal that led to her memory loss. Yet, as her journey takes her deeper into the heart of the fae world, Nell realizes the truth she seeks may be far more devastating than she could have ever imagined.

Among the chaos, Nell finds herself entangled in a complex web of emotions. Love emerges from unexpected corners, intensifying the already dizzying events surrounding her. As her heart navigates the maze of desire and longing, Nell must confront the searing question: can she truly trust those who profess their affections in a place filled with secrets and lies?

This book is the first in a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger. It is an easy, why-choose, dark romantasy read, with light world-building. It does contain triggering content. Ideal for those who love the From Blood and Ash and The Plated Prisoner series!

My Rating: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ (Solid. Filthy. Confusing. But I came, so it’s fine.)
Series Status: Bruh, I don’t even know what the fuck is happening- but I need the next book immediately because curiosity and horniness have won.

We Have:
✅ Dark Romantasy
✅ MFM (with a suspiciously loaded side-eye at possible MM 👀)
✅ Dark Fae & Demigods
✅ Fated Mates
✅ NonCon and On page Abuse
✅ Hidden royalty (probably, maybe, who even knows anymore)
✅ Filthy mouths that made me audibly moan
✅ Trauma, power, and a sprinkle of therapy avoidance
✅ Smut that actually smuts
✅ Plot twists that slapped harder than an Alpha in rut

Listen, the opening chapters had me feral. I was taking notes like a horny academic - laughing, grimacing, and whispering “oh no baby don’t do that” every three minutes. The dedication alone should’ve been a warning label: “For those who want to be fucked by two sassy fae males.” Ma’am. - It's me - I am those people.

It’s dark and depraved, written like the author pulled up a chair, dumped a pile of trauma, magic, and filth on the table, and told me to deal with it. By the halfway mark, I was completely feral for both of them - dirty talk so obscene it should come with a content warning, pacing that whiplashed me straight into obsession, and world-building that felt like an ancient prophecy got drunk and started sexting.

By 67%, I stopped highlighting entirely because the plot went off the rails in the best way possible. Memory reveals, god-level betrayal, and a twist that made me clutch my metaphorical pearls. I don’t even know who’s good or evil anymore - but baby, those filthy-mouthed fae can keep talking like that and I’ll forgive every sin.

It’s dark, it’s smutty, it’s occasionally written like a storytime confession on Reddit, but goddamn if it didn’t entertain me. The writing wobbled a bit - definitely first-person-narrator energy - but I ate it up anyway. I’m feral for more.

The smut smutted. The plot plotted. And my moral compass spun like a fucking fidget spinner.

The Case File: Evidence of My Descent Into Unhinged Horniness
Exhibit A: Dedication promised “two sassy fae males.” I said “say less” and immediately lost composure.
Exhibit B: “Sleeping arrangements?” - Me: “I’m up for a fae sandwich.” I got one, still haven’t recovered.
Exhibit C: Filthy-mouth prince quoting sins like scripture. Moisture levels: critical.
Exhibit D: Three-finger surprise with zero warm-up OSHA violation - but spiritually fulfilling.
Exhibit E: Jacobs ladder piercing reveal. Knees: absent. Brain: buffering.
Exhibit F: Twist so chaotic I dropped my Kindle, my snack, and my dignity.

OKAY, how do i start this… i received an arc earlier today, and i finished the book in 5 hours. honestly, i wasn’t expecting a lot since this is the authors very first book… BUT i was so pleasantly surprised!

This book is truly amazing. it has so much depth to it and everything is perfectly mapped out, you can tell the author thought out every detail.

I’m not typically into fantasy, but this was just the perfect ratio of fantasy to dark romance for me. with that being said… THE SPICE IN THIS BOOK????? top tier for sure!
i have two words for you: Table. Scene. even if you’re not a fan of the rest of the book, you’ll like this scene.
Once you read the book, you’ll know what i mean ;)
Definitely check the TWs though.

anyway, putting the smut aside (if that’s even possible) - the dynamic between the main characters is so fun. their conversations pulled me in and had me hooked from the second i met them - and oh my god, i WISH i was nell!

I really love this book and will definitely be recommending to my friends :) i can’t wait for the second book to be released!

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This was my first arc and I was excited to read this, especially since I love dark fantasy.

Without spoiling, the story itself was great. It was faster paced, which I prefer to slower world building, and I loved the issues between the fae and gods.

I wasn’t expecting it to be as spicy as it was… but I was not disappointed. The author really went all out on the spice. I saw another review that mentioned the table scene and they’re not wrong. The table scene was 👌🏼

Overall, this was a great read. It didn’t require the commitment a high fantasy book/series does, but it wasn’t lacking plot either. I really enjoyed reading this and after that cliffhanger, I’m looking forward to the second book.

This book was honestly a bit confusing at first and I had to work my way through the first half but as soon as Nell stepped her foot in another world, so did I! I was hooked and I couldn't put the book down. I believe it took me less than a day to finish this book (mostly because I'm a fast reader and didn't really take any meal breaks, but that's besides the point!) As someone who has gone through her own trauma, I felt connected to Nell throughout her journey. Also, the smut in this book is literally one for the books! If you're looking for a why-choose, dark fantasy romance book, with a spicy plot twist, then pleaseeeee read this series! Dakota is definitely one of my top favorite authors!!

ABSOLUTELY ADDICTING!!

If you’re a dark romance girlie who also enjoys a good romantasy this book is DEFINITELY FOR YOU!
There’s dark undertones and trauma coming off our FMC, she has lost her memory and doesn’t know who she truly is but something rooted deep inside her is pulling her to two fae males in hopes of finding out more of who she is and why her memories were wiped.
In the first installment of the Curse of Gods series, Nell Harper leaves behind her depressing life in the human realm when she quite literally falls through the veil into the far realm. You immediately want better for our girl I mean she has been through the wringer with a life riddled full of trauma.

As she ventures further into this unfamiliar place, Nell discovers the unsettling truth that her memories have been stolen. Determined to reclaim what's rightfully hers, she embarks on a journey that is addictive and captivating, it really hooks you in immediately.

She finds help along the way in the form of two hot fae males who are willing to help her unravel the web of deceit and betrayal that has led to her memory loss. When Nell realizes the truth she was hell bent on finding is only the surface to something more devious than she could have imagined. She’ll be forced to make a decision between the bonds of love she has formed in this world or taking her rightful place to keep the balance of the realms. That decision will be taken from her as something sinister lies in wait for Nell. Taking her back to where she first lost her memories.

Also an honorable mention for that dinner table scene I know everyone loves the waterfall scene but got daaang that shit was hot!!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

I was lucky enough to get an E-ARC of this book and boy it did not disappoint! I read it in a day, I could not put it down. If you love spice (MFM), fantasy, action, twists and turns.. look no further!

The world building in this book?? Amazing!! I felt like I was walking through these towns myself as I read. I can be picky about how much world building is in a story, as sometimes it feels like filler or too excess— but not in this story. Dakota knows how to set the scene perfectly and give you all the information you need, without it being overwhelming.

I love Nell and her feisty attitude. She is so resilient and strong. Sometimes stubborn, but it is so understandable. You can see her working through her emotional turmoil, not knowing whether to trust her heart or her mind.

The MMCS? Yummy, simply put. I love how they are so alike yet also so different. Both would do anything for Nell, and are so patient and understanding with her, always. The give her the love she has always wanted and deserved. Those mouths… WHEW! Some parts had me blushing a bit, I can’t lie. I love the banter between all of them.

I LOVE XAMIRA (iykyk)

The whole story was so fun to read. I love watching them all develop themselves, and together. The banter had me giggling, the steam had me blushing, the little moments of happiness had me smiling, and certain people had me ready to reach through my kindle and hit them (again, iykyk). The twists and turns of the plot were so fun, though I did predict them coming. It still didn’t take away from how much I loved it! I highly recommend this book!

If you love why choose, dark fantasy romance with an unraveling plot riddled with lies, hidden identities, scheming gods, and two sexy-as-sin, sarcastic MMC's that have a dynamic like the ACOTAR bat boys (specifically Rhys and Cassian), then you need to run, not walk, to get your hands on this book!!

As someone who's newer to reading darker romances, (as always, be sure to check the content warnings, first!) this one was a great book to start with, and it had me hooked from the first page. This book starts off one way, but the deeper you get into the story, the more you realize everything is not what it seems.

The spice was spicing, the plot was plotting... What more could you ask for in a dark fantasy romance read?? I ate this up and I cannot wait for the next book!!

Honestly, I was hesitant going into this book, but can confidently say that it deserves the five stars. I read a lot of fantasy and why choose, but this is the perfect mix of plot and smut. I love all the characters, even the villains. I know, not cool because they literally suck a**, but I’m intrigued, okay? I want to know what happens next!! I want to learn more about the magic and hierarchy!! Obviously also excited to see our main characters again, but can’t give anything away. That cliffhanger was actually very well written and not completely predictable. Super excited to keep reading ◡̈

And the spice!

I can’t believe I waited so long to finally read this! There’s trauma, a lot of emotional and physical. Which is shared throughout the majority of the book. I highly recommend looking into before starting this one because it’s pretty dark.
There’s Gods, Demi-gods and fae and the story line is pretty interesting. There’s memory loss, and a very vengeful God and war. Soul bonds and also an adorable feline side kick. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

So, this book was definitely a little confusing at first, solely because the reader knows just as much as Nell does. But oh, when she finally gets her answers? And everything starts to make sense? I was GASPING at every page turn, losing it, trying to tell my boyfriend about it who is just so confused.

This cliffhanger HURT. I’m so thankful the next book comes out in a few weeks.

ARC review

If this book was paced differently this would have been a five star book for me, but that is my only complaint. It is a very enjoyable romantasy and I was incredibly impressed, especially for a debut novel. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and am eager to see how this fantasy world/realms continue to build and unfurl.

ARC read: OMG I’ve read quite a few ARC reads over the last few weeks and this by far is one of my favorites. A ton, muster, love, lust, suspense, spice. You name it it has it! There are some trigger warnings SA child SA, they don’t go into too much detail but the details are there. However those scenes are few and far between. This book is well worth the read.

I received this book as an ARC and sadly wasn’t expecting much since the other 4 dark romance ARCs I’ve read this month were all disappointing. Boy was I in for a surprise!

I am running on 4 hours of sleep right now because I stayed up late finishing this book and I’m OBSESSED. I need the next book NOW! Dakota Monroe has created such a cool world with amazing characters and amazing spice! I haven’t yet read a book with such good spice AND storyline combined creating a perfect balance. Definitely check the trigger warnings before diving in.

"But what I want more is to rip the heads off every one of these bastards for being in your presence. They do not even deserve the concept of you. ” 🔥

This story follows Nell and her journey on figuring out who she is and following her heart to her loves. It's a why choose fun time.

Tropes:
Why choose
Who did this to you
Fated
Fake identity

The ebook on kindle did not open up on the trigger warnings page & it desperately needs to do so. I did not see it & was absolutely shocked when the on page csa/sa happened. So, make sure you scroll over to the warning page and make sure you read them.

This was a fairly easy read as far as to say it wasn't super wordy but it really needs another round of editing. There were several parts of the book where things/people just reappeared or suddenly knew something that didn't actually get said. The author does a good job of plotting out an enemy because you definitely know straight away from the mass amount of creeps you get.

I liked the love interests, though I found the overly sexual commentary upon first meeting a little cringy and overdone. Nell seemed like the ultimate I'm not like other girls. It was painful & I found myself confused about her internal dialogue often.

Despite the very dramatic cliff hanger, I'm probably not going to reach for the second one as I didn't connect with any of the characters.

I really wanted to like this book, and the prologue hooked me pretty well. But I had some issues with how the story was told.

1. My biggest issue with the story is it is the epitome of telling instead of showing. Don’t tell me the character is a teddy bear, show me he is a teddy bear. Don’t tell me the main character is traumatized over and over again, show it in her actions, etc. I could not get attached to any of the characters because I didn’t know them, I only knew what the FML thought of them.

2. For some reason the author prefers to do character building through flashbacks. This is ok to a degree, but to skip a month in book, then use flashbacks into the month to explain the meeting of new characters? I didn’t get that and it made the pacing of the whole thing feel so weird and artificial. Like “oh yeah she has friends now, must explain.”

3. The romance/relationships between characters was not well developed. The spicy scenes were good, but how they got there was just, unbelievable. For example the FML somehow knew someone well enough after two days to identify when they did something they ‘rarely’ do. She just knew too much, too fast and didn’t act in ways that made sense for someone with trauma.

I don’t mean to be harsh, but I did feel misled by the other reviews here.

DNF. I personally think the dedication page ruined this for me.. the book was pretty good up until the ball where 2 fae males come in… and then it clicked in my head about the dedication page. I wasn’t interested after that because it definitely seemed like spoilers to me and I no longer felt the need to continue reading…

I really wanted to like this but I am not enjoying myself. Everything feels really superficial and is moving so fast (especially all the romance). I’m not into insta lust or insta love so maybe that’s where my disconnect is. I just need more depth in a fantasy novel, and more showing rather than telling.

Of bonds and daggers the curse of the gods book one by dakota monroe

I did recieve an ARC for this and giving my honest review.

Story ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/ 5
Spice 🌶️🌶️.5/ 5

I tried to make it spoiler free but someone commented on it and now my review is gone so im posting again with the spoiler tag.

This is the first book in a new series that has to come out.

It is a high fantasy romance, where this book mostly focus on worldbuilding and the background story.

And I have to say that the story so far really intriugues me and I can't wait for the next book in this series.

The fmc is a girl that lives on the poor side of town were she works her ass off to make a bare living wich give her just enough money for a poorly roof over her head and food for her cat and if she is lucky some for herself. She is groped, harrased and treated poorly at her work and when she finally snaps and quits her job after being sexually assulted by some guys, she defends herself in a way she didn't know she could and quits her job after that and is a little lost on what to do now. She sees a free therapist once a week but after her last visit with her she gets a feeling there is something really wrong and she doesn't trust her terapist for one bit anymore.

A few days later her cat becomes unhinged and wants to go out with the fmc and while that is not unusual for them to go on a walk, the fmc has a feeling she has to follow her cat when she suddenly crashes and falls trough a veil wich hides a fae realm from the human one after a little wandering she finds a fae named Andreas who is a prince of a part of the realm. He feels oddly familiar with her but she doesn't know why. She learned that someone blocked her real memories and she has to find out who did it and why. When she meets the other fae prince and his second in command she feels an instant atraction and pull to them both, also the insane feeling she can trust them with her life, wich is insane because she also has some feelings for Andreas, or does she? She decides to go with the other fae prince and his second to search further for anwsers and Andreas loses his demenor and shows his true self, wich is a cold, calculated monster that is out to get her.

She can escape him and goes with the other fae prince and his second and their attraction grows everyday.

When the fmc gets her memories back she has to go away to warn her own people of Andreas and leave the fae prince and his second wich she finds out are her soulmates.

The story ends on a big cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next one!

When I finished it, I needed a few days to process it, because so much happened in this book, and my emotions were all over the place when I finished it, in the best way possible possible. This book tugged at my heart, and broke my heart a little bit a few times throughout as well.

First, let’s start with a female main character, Nell. Nell has been living a shitty life, working a shitty job, and lives in a shitty apartment; life pretty much sucks for her. She’s going through the motions, and she’s had a horrible upbringing, which my heart broke for her every time I found out what she endured. However, without spoiling the book, she came out stronger and I admire her resilience so much. Nell’s character growth throughout the book was truly astonishing, and I don’t really have any words for it. Amazing, genuinely.

And now let’s dive into the male main characters. I’m not gonna say their names, because I want everyone to be just as shocked as I was during the plot twist, but they are everything that you would want in a book boyfriend (or in real life 👀). They are fierce, protective, strong, loyal, etc., and it was so hot. This wasn’t an enemies to lovers, so they weren’t toxic or cruel to Nell, which I actually loved and didn’t mind, even though I primarily read books with the enemies to lovers trope.

Now…. For my overall comments on the book…

Dakota TOREEEEE my heart multiples time (but it’s okay because she made it better a few pages later) BUT STILL. This book and the many plot twists that it had took me on a wild roller coaster, and I say that with so much positivity. I loved that this book leaned more on the spicier side without interrupting the plot of the book — and double points to Dakota for having a “Dicktionary” at the beginning of the book for just the spicy scenes. 😻

Also PLEASE read the trigger list! Some of this content is very triggering.

DNF

The prologue was so unsettling and intriguing and then the story began and it was like I was witnessing the mental breakdown of someone who didn't know what was happening to them.

We were in a world mirroring real life, with cars, diners, high schools, cellphones, and WIFI, yet there was a dystopian-like actually enforced class divide in place keeping the rich living in luxury while the poor slummed it on opposite sides of a river. And our girl Nell thought nothing of carrying extensive conversations with her cat.

I think if it'd been established Nell had a history of mental illness with recurring dips into very detailed delusions—to the point she became an unreliable narrator and we couldn't tell what was real and what was her fucked up brain—the story would instantly have been 1000 times better. And it even could have been later tied to the fantasy elements, explaining how her brain chemistry got all fucked up when she was away from the non-human realm (or whatever it was supposed to be) for too long. So, world-building got a thumbs down.

And while that was the case, if the writing had at least been passable I could have made the effort to finish the book. But, sadly, that aspect was also terrible. It was all tell and no show, with awful dialogues, very crude exposition, and a not-insignificant number of typos. Another thumbs down.

Plus, I've been on a bad stretch of very subpar books recently, so my mental capacity and patience are at an all-time low and I refuse to waste my time with something I have to struggle to get through.

Three strikes, you're out Of Bonds and Daggers .

It is 3am. I am fighting my sleeping medications to write this, as I was while finishing this absolute BEAST of a novel.

If it’s not evident above, I simply could not put this book down. The mystery?? The plot twists?! THE TENSION!!! …My god.

To say that I loved this book simply does not suffice. I am now stalking Dakota’s social media in the hopes of learning the release dates for the next two books. 2024 is not specific enough Dakota!!! God!! 🔎

If you want sassy ass mmc’s and a sassy ass fmc who can dish it out as well as receive it (if you catch my drift) well. You’ll love this book as much as I did. It’s like fricken avatar the last airbender meets fricken Greek gods meets ACOTAR. I’m OBSESSED. 😍

I NEED MORE. Just gonna hibernate over here til the next one’s releases. K bye!

Ps. It ends on a cliffhanger fyi. 😭

Pps or is it psps? Oh. I’ve just summoned a cat.

I fricken love the love for cats in this book. Thank you for encompassing my love for my furry fiend and the emotional bond we share. We feel seen and she cuddled me while I was reading the ending of this, and 10/10 supports the epicness that was the secret transformation I shall not divulge. AMAZING.

I think that is all.

Also, I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 5/5⭐️ 3.5/5 🌶️

This isn’t exactly a bad book, but it’s not the best I’ve either. It’s one of those books you know you’ll forget about within a week of finishing.

The story follows a girl named Nell, who’s mildly obsessed with her cat (no judgment, we all have our things). She’s been living a pretty shitty life in the human realm, so naturally, she packs up and heads out. Along the way, she stumbles into another realm—plot twist, it’s the fae realm. There, she meets Prince Andras (aka Prince #1), and they quickly become…well, f*ck buddies. Then, after a big event, Prince Casmir (Prince #2) and his brooding bodyguard Esmyr show up. Nell, being the flexible decision-maker she is, decides to change her “f*ck buddy” situation to go for both of them instead, leaving poor Andras in the dust.

I know the setup sounds questionable, but there’s actually more to it. It turns out Nell is a fae who’s lost her memories, and now they have to figure out what happened to her and why.

There’s a plot twist, and while I saw it coming from a mile away, it didn’t completely ruin the fun.

What to expect:

• Why-choose romance
• 🌶️🌶️🌶️ spice
• Fated mates
• Mysterious identity
• Amnesia
• Plenty of trigger warnings (including SA and kidnapping)
• Overprotective MMCs

Do I recommend it? Hmmm… I’d say it’s a coin toss, but if you’re into fae, spice, and reverse harem, you might enjoy it!

It’s been a little while since I’ve picked up some romantasy to read and boy, I don’t regret it!

Nell is just a poor girl trying to get by and provide for her precious kitty Xamira, until one day said precious feline leads her to a world between worlds.

Tucked away between the poor city and the rich city is a land of fae that Xamira seems to think Nell belongs in.

From there, things only get crazier. I always do my best to be a spoiler free girlie, so here goes.

After finding out most of her memories are warped or not real and falling right into the hands of Mr. Wrong our girl Nell winds up on a VERY long journey (literally) with two of the best fae males.

This trio (honorable mention to Xamira) had me laughing and crying the whole way through. (After the Mr. Wrong part). Not only is the chemistry between these three undeniable, they help her navigate through finding out where her memories have gone and the possibility of getting them back.

The choices made afterwards could change everything…

Ugh! I’m trying to share all of my excitement without giving anything away and it’s so difficult. What’s important to know is that we’ve left off on a cliffhanger and I am DYING to know what’s next!

The premise of this book is good, the storyline is interesting, the spice is good but gets a bit repetitive. The villian is deep, dark and brutal, the love interests are both different and unique and Nell is.. interesting.

I liked this take on fated mates/bonded mates and the fact that Nell had 2 bonded soul mates. Her memories being taken, robbed, and mutilated was a highly unique take on amnesia in a book.

The story seemed pretty slow, and only in the last 25% did it really pick up and get to the good stuff, really drawing me in. The dialogue portions got a bit confusing, with one character speaking and another characters actions following on the same line. You would have to read a few lines of dialogue to know who had said what.

Nell, after getting her memories back, seems to think of herself as above everyone else even though she's fallen in love with 2 "mortal" fae. "They're going to hate me for lying, but I'm stronger and more powerful than they are. Than anyone else on this realm." Oh Nell, I find this quote highly hilarious considering what happens in the last chapter of the book. You got on your high horse only to be brought to your knees by your enemy and humbled.

Before delving into this captivating tale, it's essential to heed the content warnings meticulously outlined by the author. With a spicy twist on the fantasy genre, Dakota Monroe weaves a tale that will ensnare fans of 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' while offering a fresh and unique experience.

We are introduced to our fierce protagonist, Nell Harper. She journeys from the human realm to the veiled domain of the fae after discovering that her memories have been stolen. Determined to reclaim her past, Nell embarks on a quest that leads her into the heart of deception and betrayal.

But wait, did I forget to mention this is a why-choose? The two MMCs are AMAZING! We are introduced to Prince Casmir and his second-in-command, Emrys.

With magic and fae, this book has everything you could ask for. It's a whirlwind of adventure and romance that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

'Of Bonds and Daggers' is just the first installment in a trilogy, leaving readers hanging on the precipice of anticipation. If you're a fan of spicy fantasy with a hint of danger and a dash of romance, this book is a must-read."

Want a book with twists and turns and sassy characters? This is it for you. This book has tons of world building which was done wonderfully. Nell is our FMC that discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. Nell has had enough of being treated the way we she was. She wanted a new start with her cat Xamira. With Xamira as her guide she decides to cross the bridge, little did she realize it would lead her to a whole new world. Well at least she thinks it’s a new world, but slowly over time she discovers she may have been here before. Along the way she meets a few males. Some better than others. She’s on a journey to rediscover who she really is. There is some spice but not an overwhelming amount. But the spice hits when it’s there. And if you’re curious about where the spice is, the lovely author gives you a chapter list for that. Please read the trigger warnings. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read what happens next with our fmc and her sassy fae males. I did receive an Arc for this book and am leaving an honest review of my own accord

I absolutely loved this book, and for being under 300 pages it has great world building, and was very descriptive so I could picture it all easily.

Nell has been struggling to survive in an unforgiving world for all her life. It’s just been her and her adorable black cat Xarmia for as long as she can remember.

One day her and Xarmia stumble into the Veil (world of the Fae) and Nell finds out she is a fae and not human, but has no memory.

During the book she tries many ways to find information about what happened to her memories, and how she can get them back.

Along the way she meets two fae princes of cities separated by a large mountain, and many other characters. She feels an undeniable connection with one of the princes and that just makes what has to happen in the future all the harder.

This book captivated me from the first few chapters, and kept me flipping through needing more u til the very end. The cliffhanger ending has me reeling and I can’t wait for the next books to come out!

How did this book—and this author—fly so completely under my radar?

Of Bonds and Daggers is the kind of story that grabs you by the collar and pulls you into its world before you even realize what’s happening. I went in with zero expectations and came out wondering how I’d missed an entire series that feels tailor-made for fans of fast-paced fantasy with emotional depth.

The writing is sharp and immersive, with just the right balance of action, intrigue, and character development. The worldbuilding is layered but never overwhelming, and the plot moves with a rhythm that kept me turning pages late into the night. There’s a sense of urgency and tension throughout, but it’s grounded in relationships that feel real and complex.

I won’t spoil anything, but I will say this: if you love stories that blend loyalty, betrayal, and high-stakes choices with a touch of magic and mystery, this one’s worth your time. I’m already diving into the next book—and kicking myself for not discovering this author sooner.
