If you can’t ask your best friend to get you pregnant then who can you ask?
Adalynn Tate made a promise to her childhood friend. They vowed that they’d do everything together, including marrying their junior high crush and having all their babies at the same time. Her friend has succeeded. She got the guy, and the first bun is in the oven. Now it’s Adalynn’s turn to make her own dreams a reality. When Adalynn’s best guy friend comes over, he sees the pamphlets for her to have a baby on her own. Cash does what any best friend would do – offers his free, platonic services instead of extra medical bills. He doesn’t know Adalynn has had a crush on him since junior high, something she’s done her best to lock down deep as not to threaten their friendship. Adalynn knows in this world you don’t get to have it all: the baby, the man, the fairytale. But Cash has other plans for her.
Marie James is a mother of two boys and wife of 17 years. She's spent most of her life lifetime living in central Texas, with only short stays in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. Her passions include reading everything under the sun and sewing, although she doesn't get to sew much these days!.
Writing has always been a passion and she's enjoying every step of the journey!
This was a really good book. I loved the storyline and this author wrote it so well, it was flawless. I could not get enough of these great characters.
The second story in the Lindell series, and yes, I do suggest reading book one before reading this, so you won't be lost and caught up on all the info. So, we got the little scene at the end of Chase and Madison's story where Adalynn lets it slip that Cash is helping her get pregnant. Well, we now get the whole story on how that came about, it was all because of a pact that Madison and Adalynn made, that they would have babies together. Madison has already fulfilled her part and is pregnant, so the pressure is on. Problem is the only man whose babies Adalynn pictures herself having are Cash's, but he is adamant that he isn't having any. When Cash learns that Adalynn is looking into IVF, he is shocked and also a bit angry, as HE also only sees Adalynn having his babies. So, he does what any good best guy friend would do, offer up his services. But is this something that crosses a line that they can't come back from? Will this jeopardize their friendship, or will they learn this is the best thing they could have ever done?
Well, color me surprised, at one point I didn't think Adalynn had it in her and then BAM Cash brings it out and he had me fanning myself and my cheeks flushed! This was perfect, the drama was on point, the chemistry you could feel, and the naughty bits were so freaking hot! I love a read that has you feeling the feels and I seriously hope that we get quite a few more stories in this series. I give this 5 stars.
This is the second book in this series. They can be read as standalone books. Adalyn and Cash have been friends forever. They are both in love with each other but are afraid to voice their feelings for fear of losing the other. Then Adalyn’s best friend Madison gets pregnant. The two had made a pact to have babies together. Adalyn begins to think. She has been in love with Cash for so long but things don’t show signs of changing from just friendship. She decides to just have a baby on her own. When Cash sees the brochures for fertility clinics and asks Adalyn about it. Cash has issues because of his childhood. He worries about asking to much of Adalyn or taking up too much of her time. He doesn’t feel good enough for her. But learning she wants a child right now changes things. He offers to be the father. This could be the worst or the best thing for them. It could force them to let the other know about their feelings or could drive them apart. This book was a fun read. Almost to angsty for me though. Just talk, you already spend all your free time together so you like each other. If it turns out that the other doesn’t share your romantic feelings them that would suck but you would move on. Madison and Adalyn are a trip together. Cash would literally do anything for Adalyn. They do tend to let misunderstanding get between them during this book. Imagine all the time they could have been together if they just talked about it. A lot of people tell Adalyn that they believe Cash is in love with her but she doesn’t believe them. I look forward to reading the next book. I can’t wait to read about Adalyn’s brothers at some point. I wanted to read about them after the first book but now I have more interesting questions about them. Fantastic job Marie.
This was such a fun read the characters in this story were great and also a lot of fun.
The story was straightforward forward and had a bit of drama that was emotional and messy at times but, it also was about friendship love, and laughter.
Adalynn wants a baby and she thinks about having one on her own but, her best friend since forever can't fathom her using another man's sperm and offers his own. From here on out the story became one laugh-out-loud moment after another.
It was comical how this couple handles their current situation and as much as these friends try to keep their emotions out, it becomes impossible. The friendship between Cash and Adalynn seemed like they were always in a relationship but, just never gave it a title other than friendship, everyone around them saw more than this couple did for themselves, and that one or more in that party had always been secretly in love with one another.
This story overall was so much fun there were love laughter heartbreak, and unexpected moments and even if Cash and Adalynn never wanted to admit their chemistry was explosive and beautiful they would make a beautiful couple. Throughout reading this story from cover to cover this reader wore a permanent grin and smile on their face throughout the story we loved it.
Every girl deserves a Cash in their life. Adalynn is a lucky girl but doesn’t even know it. Love these two! Such a cute story! The girls are a trip together!
I’ve been waiting for this one since the end of Back Against the Wall. It was easy to see that Cash and Adalynn both loved each other and both were too stubborn to admit it. Admitting your feelings and potentially ruining the best friendship is truly easier said than done. There story was sweet, heartfelt, but also had me annoyed and wanting to just smack both of them upside the head and just communicate their true feelings! Other than that, I loved their story and the spice was definitely there! I can’t wait to see how Walker and Claire play out in the next book (and get some glimpses of our other favorite couples).
Adalynn Tate owns her own bakery in Lindell and made her best friend Madison a promise that the two of them would marry their childhood crushes and have babies at the same time. When Madison marries Chase and gets pregnant, Adalynn decides she can no longer wait for her crush to change his feelings towards her and decides it’s time to have a baby on her own.
Cash Tucker is the Chief of Police in Lindell and when he sees pamphlets for Adalynn to have a baby he offers to help her with her problem the old fashioned way. He has no idea that Adalynn has had a crush on him for years, he only knows how long he has had feelings for her and is hoping that this may actually give him a chance with her.
Yet soon both of them begin to struggle between their hidden feelings and what is real and what is fake and they find their friendship falling apart. Can they find a way to sort everything out before it’s all lost?
This was a good book and the second book in the Lindell series. While it’s not necessary to read book one it does give a bit more character development background.
Adalynn is a great character who sees her best friend Madison achieving her childhood dreams and Adalynn wants the same dreams. She doesn’t want to jeopardize her close friendship with Cash so she decides to have a baby on her own so that her baby can grow up with Madison’s. I understood all of her decisions as she felt like Cash only saw her as his best friend and nothing more.
Cash came back to town after doing his police training as he knew he still had feelings for Adalynn but they had turned into best friends and he was struggling with admitting how he felt about her. When he volunteers to be her baby daddy he hopes that this is his chance for things between them to change but when he says he doesn’t want his own children Adalynn struggles.
This relationship is so up and down with both of these two struggling to admit how they feel about the other one yet walking a really fine line once things start to get physical as no matter how hard they try to keep things only about making a baby things obviously change. You feel for both of them yet want to shake both of them so much as neither wants to come clean with what everyone around them already sees.
The ending kinda surprised me with what Adalynn chose to do but I liked that she did end up going that way. I was so happy as the truth finally came out in a way I didn’t expect and how we get the happy ending we had been looking for!
I do really enjoy the small town setting and how you are getting to know many of these small characters in town that will hopefully keep making appearances in the next books. Looking forward to more in the series!- Rebecca
Friends to lovers is such a fun trope to read. I love the anticipation of reading how each character eventually breaks their own rules and then watching everything unravel only to realize what they want is literally what they already had, which was each other. It's typically low core angsty with friends getting all kinds of naked. 🥵
In Easier Said Than Done Adalynn and Cash have been best friends since elementary school. Their bond has been unbreakable and extremely reliable. Which is why neither of them ever thought to cross the unthinkable line. That is until Adalynn reaches a point when she decides to have a baby. Cash suddenly doesn't see anyone else by her side except himself, even if she'll only accept him as a friend. He of course does what his caveman side wants him to do...he offers to help, which leads to typical complications of their friendship, but for both of these characters there were deeper issues than were initially right in front of them.
Adalynn, at first, gobbles up Cash's affection like she's always wanted to do with a long term partner, but she also seems to build even higher walls around herself so she can keep things platonic when things between them get messy. Way to end it before it even begins....Even though Adalynn grew up surrounded by love and family, she is the realist between them and sometimes I wanted to smack her for keeping Cash at arm's length. He too had a bit of the same problem, but between the two of them, he actually wanted to stay in her life forever.
Cash is the chief of police within their small town and his interactions when it came to police duties were actually quite entertaining. I think I would have enjoyed even more of those moments, especially since we get to see his personality really shine, not to mention, the town itself is a pretty colorful group of people to interact with.
Adalynn's other best friend, Madison, is one of those people who just loved to stir up trouble in this book, but in the best way possible. While it did help bring out more dialogue, since both Cash and Adalynn internalized quite a bit vs. talking things out, I just wish it had been between the main characters instead of between secondary ones. For two people who claimed to be the best of friends, with a familiarity of two people who spent a ton of time together since childhood, their hot and cold moments threw me, which made this a solid 4.5 star read. I did enjoy this book and still look forward to more as the town continues to grow.
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Adalynn and Cash's story and its a story about two besties who are in love with each other but have no clue about each other's feelings, figuring out that they belong together. Its a very slow burn and a very twisted road they go on. They have to figure out how to be vulnerable with each other and at times I was very frustrated with them because everyone knew how they felt, well except each other.
In the middle of it, Adalynn decides she wants to get pregnant, and she feels Cash is hopeless and he will never see her as anything other than a friend. Meanwhile Cash has a lot of excuses about Adalynn and why they can't be together. On one hand he thinks she is all vanilla sex, and he wants it not vanilla. Then he feels unworthy of her because he is a foster kid with no family. He kind of drove me as crazy as he drives Adalynn and I really felt for her. She loves this really complicated guy who is so confusing. Honestly the decisions she makes, I would have done too. But I am not telling you what that was.
This book when it finally gets going is HOT. So, if you like a hot sexy guy then Cash is definitely that. And while he has all these excuses, his heart is Adalynn's and has been for years. He definitely had some very swoony moments for me.
There are some shenanigans in this book related to Adalynn's brothers and at times I am not sure I loved that. They like sharing girlfriends and well that's a bit too much for me. Then the author introduces this guy Carter and I have no idea what's going on there.
I enjoyed reading this story but at times I just wanted for these two to communicate. I really wish I got more scenes with Cash and Adalynn after they confessed their feelings and less of a rollercoaster of their finding their way. But aside from that I enjoyed the book.
In "Easier Said Than Done," the second instalment of the Lindell series by Marie James, readers are once again swept away on a whirlwind romance adventure. Adalynn Tate shines with her warmth and what lies hidden beneath and steals hearts effortlessly alongside the swoon-worthy Cash. While their relationship simmered in the background of the first book, the magnetic pull between them is undeniable, leaving readers yearning for more.
Ms James yet again skillfully captures the essence of unspoken desires and the tension between Adalynn and Cash, who find themselves trapped in the confines of the "friend zone." Despite their undeniable chemistry, both characters grapple with their own insecurities and doubts, hesitant to jeopardize their cherished friendship.
With her heart set on motherhood Adalynn is preparing for the options open to her, however, a single piece of paper sets off a chain of events that challenges this couple's self-imposed boundaries. As they navigate this new chapter together, their bond deepens, and the lines between friendship and something more blur in the most tantalizing of ways. With each page turn, Marie James masterfully weaves a tale of longing, passion, and self-discovery.
The supporting cast of friends and family adds depth and dimension to the story, offering unwavering support and nudging Adyalynn and Cash toward their inevitable happily ever after. "Easier Said Than Done" is a testament to this author's talent for crafting compelling storylines that leave readers on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next book in the Lindell series.
With its blend of steamy romance, heartfelt emotions, and irresistible charm, "Easier Said Than Done" is a must-read for fans of the genre. Marie James continues to shine, solidifying her status as a master storyteller in the world of romance fiction.

I was so curious about this one since the end of Back Against the Wall. It was so obvious that Cash and Adalynn were so into the other but were so stubborn and blind to admit it. Their dance around each other was well orchestrated by manners and old habits and fears. They don't confess their feelings for each other fearing that would ruin their friendship that started so long ago. Adalynn had a crush on Cash for so long that she learned to hide it very successfully. Cash had a crush on her but respected their age difference and never acted on it . And now he's losing his chance to admit his feelings seeing he's the one helping Adalynn getting pregnant . And she sees him as a friend and not as a lover. Adalynn setts some rules and is so disappointed when she doesn't get her fantasy because of them. But Cash is decided to change the way she sees him. And that's when the lines between reality and fantasy are blurred. And let me tell you Cash and Adalynn are so good together . Cash had such a mouth and his dirty talking urges Adalynn to reveal a different side of her personality. And they fit so well together . Cash is the perfect book boyfriend and Adalynn is a romance reader . Together they were such a surprise. But their inability to communicate with each other messes up the complicated situation. Some other events pile up the pressure and self doubts they both have. And after much needed distancing they find the way to each other and how to fix their relationship. And those sneak peeks of Madison and Chase were so good. Now I can't wait for the next story in the Lindell series.

Easier Said Than Done was an absolutely charming best friends/unrequited love/baby pact romance!
Adalynn has had a crush on Cash, since junior high. He's a few years older than her, and in present day, they are best friends. Adalynn's girl bestie, Madison is happily living with her guy, Chase, and is expecting a baby, and reminds Adalynn of the baby pact they once made to have kids together. Adalynn is looking into IVF when Cash offers to be her donor and do things the old-fashioned way instead.
But becoming lovers -- even temporarily and for a very specific reason -- blurs the lines of Adalynn and Cash's friendship. Because Cash is also in love with Adalynn -- but he's been in the friend zone for so long, he doesn't see any way out of it. Both Cash and Adalynn are willing to take that intimacy with the other any way they can get it for whatever amount of time... but their bond of friendship sufferers as a result because neither of them are willing to be honest about their feelings.
Cash has a lot of insecurity surrounding the fact that he was an orphan who was later abandoned by his adoptive family. I think that greatly contributed to A LOT of the miscommunication between these two. Once these two finally get on the same page, it's a well-deserved HEA.
I had tried reading Back Against The Wall (Madison and Chase) a few months ago, but couldn't get into it. I am definitely going to try again because I think there are a lot of details in the greater backstory that I wouldn't have had questions about -- plus, I liked the friendship between this quartet and especially how close Madison and Adalynn are. So I'm going to give it another shot!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
With happiness, I revisited Lindell for a story about two best friends falling in love. The author introduced these two characters in Chase and Madison’s story, and their chemistry was evident throughout the pages. That hasn’t changed at all! I became completely engrossed in these pages, captivated by the adorable and addictive characters that populate Lindell. The pages seemed to turn themselves as I eagerly devoured the words, finishing the book far too quickly.
Adalynn takes pride in being a people pleaser and a Lindell insider. In a small town, where everyone knows your business, Cash and Adalynn have been inseparable since Middle School, their bond growing stronger with each passing year. However, the entire town recognizes their connection as something deeper than mere friendship - and rightfully so!
Although Cash is not originally from Lindell, his sad backstory makes it clear why he has become the person he is today. By working diligently, he has become a respected and valued member of this community, and he treasures his place in it. I enjoyed the banter and attention to detail he had for and with her, and loved how things moved from “friends” to “lovers”. Very entertaining and steamy! When they finally get together, he’s quite a demanding, filthy mouthed police officer... hmmm.
I recommend reading this in the correct order for the best experience. In the end, because the majority of this author’s works are interconnected, it is recommended that you also read the NM Cerberus MC series. Worth your time, IMO.
I can’t wait for the next opportunity to visit Lindell!!
Now that her friend, Madison has fulfilled their childhood pact of marrying their middle school crush, getting married and having babies at the same time, Adalynn Tate is feeling left out. There’s only one guy she has wanted since she was in middle school, and they are permanently friend zoned.
Adalynn is Cash’s best friend. They do everything together, including family dinners and cuddling on the couch, but it always ends with a kiss on the temple when the night ends. While he may want more, he knows that Adalynn could never see herself with a guy like him and he isn’t willing to ruin their friendship.
But, when Cash sees that Adalynn is looking into IVF to become pregnant, he does what any best friend would do and offers his “services” instead. But lines become crossed and their friendship is on rocky ground. Cash knows he isn’t good enough and Adalynn knows that she can’t have the fairytale and now, nothing is the same between them.
Welcome back to small town Texas! I love Cash and Adalynn together. Everyone can see that they have more than friendship except each other. For being best friends, their lack of insight and communication when it comes to their feelings is a bit maddening. That being said, their chemistry is off the charts . . . especially when Cash finds out just how much Addalynn enjoys certain scenes in the romance books she reads!
Smokin’ hot, sweet as can be, and tons of back and forth when it comes to feelings, Easier Said Than Done showed all the hopes, fears and emotions of best friends seeing if they should cross the line to becoming so much more. 4 stars!
The main protagonists Adalynn and Cash have had feelings for one another for years, feelings that have turned to love. Neither has told the other exactly how they feel, keeping themselves strictly within the friend zone for fear of losing their friendship.
Adalynn wants it all, marriage and children, but with neither on the horizon she takes matters into her own hands, with regards to having a child that is, she looks into sperm donation. Upon seeing sperm donation brochures while visiting Adalynn, Cash offers his services, there’s no way he could let her spend all that money on something he could give her for free 😉 after all, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for her. However things don’t go quite as straightforward as planned, there are many bumps in the road ahead for the pair, but will they finally admit their feelings toward one another? And what happens if all comes crashing down around them, will friendship survive?
Easier Said Than Done is a sweet read with a good helping of spiciness to it. Two stubborn individuals who love one another dearly yet won’t admit how they feel for fear of losing their friendship. I devoured this book in one evening, I could not put it down. Adalynn and Cash were just perfect for one another, even though I could’ve banged their heads together on more than one occasion.
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Walker and Claire in the next book, it will be interesting to see how their story plays out.
This is book two in the Lindell series and though it could be read as standalone, I feel that book one will give some added understanding of the relationship between the characters.
Adalynn is loved by everyone in town, I mean who doesn't love the generous owner of the local bakery. Growing up in this small town there isn't many she doesn't know and have a relationship with. Watching her bestie Madison finally getting all the things they have dreamed about for decades, she thinks maybe she needs to find some of that for herself. But with no partner in sight she decided to take on single parenthood.
Cash has always felt a little bit like an outsider after everything went down with his family but the town and his friends have done everything possible to hold him close and give him the family he didn't have. This is his main reason for never crossing that line with his best friend Adalynn. He would sooner have her in the friend zone then not have her at all and he has never felt good enough for her. But when Ads decides she wants to get pregnant, his possessive side kicks in and he offers to help, save her money and all that.
Will this cross over the line in their friendship make or break them? Will they finally share the feelings they have both been hiding so deeply? Could this be the push they need to finally jump in with both feet and enjoy the love they have for each other?

I'm writing this review for United Indie book blog
I really wanted to like this book and I did but I didn't expect to move as fast as it did. I felt like because I didn't read the first book, I missed some major parts of this one. The characters are very established and the story reads like you have to read book 1 to understand what is going on and how the town works. It kind of threw me off for a minute. Cash and Adalynn have known each other since childhood and has always had that best friends feel with them. Both of them have wanted more but because of stubbornness or stupidity they never said a word about it. When Adalynn's friend gets married and soon discovers she's pregnant, this stems something in Adalynn. She wants a baby and is willing to do anything to have one, including sleeping with her friend. Cash isn't a hundred percent sold on this but he'd rather her do with him and not some sperm donor. You can tell this with the first time they get together. It is awkward and over pretty quickly. Something sparks in Cash after he see Adalynn reading a spicy book and he decides to act out some scences with her. This is when Cash becomes more in charge and HOT!! He even surprises Adalynn. This book moves at a very quick speed, one I was a bit surprised with but it is a good story with good people who want the best for their friends and family

You realize quickly how perfectly Cash and Adalynn are together, even if they can’t see it. She always waits for him to stop in the local watering hole each evening he’s on duty as part of his rounds. He looks forward to seeing her there. They spend off-duty evenings together having dinner or watching movies. They’ve been circling each other for so long as best friends, they were stuck in a heartbreaking loop. They felt so much, yet neither one wanted to make the first move. One offer to help the other can hopefully move them in the right direction. But that’s easier said than done.
I loved grumpy Cash. He’s sweet, loving, and an alpha protector. He is so far gone for Adalynn that he’d rather have a piece of her than possibly lose her altogether. When they finally came together my kindle melted right out of my hands. I loved weaving the storyline parallel with the first book. However, you don’t need to read ‘Back Against the Wall’ (book 1 in the Lindell, TX series) to fully appreciate the push and pull between Cash and Adalynn. I adore this series so far and I am excited to see what happens next.
What a delightfully fun read. I fell in love with Adalynn and Cash and Ms. James did them proud with a wonderful storyline. Adalynn runs the small town of Lindell’s bakery and Cash is the town’s sheriff. They have been friends since youngsters in school when Cash went to live with her family as a foster kid. Back when as kids Adalynn and her BFF both dreamed of marrying their crushes and having kids at the same time. Of course Adalynn's crush was Cash, even though he never knew it. Now as an adult, her BFF has married her old crush and is fixing to have a baby and Ady is still single and pining for Cash. But at least she has him in her life even if it is just a close friend. But she longs for a baby. So what happens when Cash sees her pamphlets for having a baby on her own?
I laughed and fanned at the heat as I read Easier Said than Done. I can’t recommend it or book 1 of the series (Back Against the Fall) enough. They are both wonderful small town romances filled with laughs, smiles, small town troubles and family. This reader can’t wait for more from the Lindell series.
Easier Said Than Done is a captivating read that delves into the complexities of relationships and the pursuit of dreams. The author skillfully weaves a tale of friendship, love, and self-discovery that resonates with authenticity and emotion. Adalynn Tate's journey to fulfill her dreams while navigating the unexpected twists of life is both relatable and heartwarming.
The chemistry between Adalynn and Cash is palpable, adding a layer of depth and passion to the story. Their evolving relationship, filled with moments of humor and tenderness, keeps readers engaged and rooting for their happiness. The supporting cast of friends and family members brings a sense of community and support, enhancing the overall narrative.
Marie James' writing style shines in Easier Said Than Done, showcasing her talent for crafting engaging and heartfelt romance fiction. The book's blend of steamy romance, heartfelt emotions, and charming storytelling makes it a must-read for fans of the genre. Overall, "Easier Said Than Done" is a delightful and engaging novel that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the Lindell series.
"Marie James does it yet again, Easier Said than Done was amazing! I wish Cash and Adalynn figured it out sooner they were made to be together, it would have saved a lot of angst, but then again, who does not love some good angst? This was a sweet yet spicy story; I loved how grumpy Cash always seemed to be, unless she was dreaming of Adalynn. Their love/hate relationship was so much fun to read, the back and forth banter always made me chuckle. When Cash realized Adalynn wanted to have a baby, he knew he had to be the one, now he just had to convince Adalynn he was the best one for the job. Any time I see friends to lover’s book I dive right in and never seem to be disappointed! " ~Stephanie
I was so excited for this book because we saw how good the chemistry was between Cash and Adalynn in book 1 and their book did not disappoint. Friends to lovers stories are always so good and this one was no exception. The steam was through the roof and Cash surprised me with his dirty talk. These two go together so well and I'm glad they got their HEA. Definitely recommend! ~Andrea
Another hit in this amazing series! Cash and Adalynn, two best friends who put it all on the line for each other, just wow! This story pulled me in from the start and I couldn't put it down! 5 Lindell Stars for this one! Adalynn has always been the shy quiet one, never says bad words, blushes at the drop of a hat! I enjoyed this story so much, I'm sure you will too! Grab this one asap!
Easier Said Than Done was a story that had the main characters pushing every one of my buttons. Cash and Adalynn drove me insane with the lack of communication and constantly reading each other wrong and jumping to the wrong conclusions. These two made me want to jump in the pages of the book and lock them in a room until they told each other how they truly felt. Two people that were best friends but deep down loved each other but were too scared to take that leap. Assumptions were made and in turn holding these two back from a forever that they both deserved. However don't take that these two frustrated me the wrong way, I loved their book so much that I sat up until 2am to finish the book because I just couldn't put it down. The chemistry between these two could light up a night sky and the passion and love that they had for each other stole my breath away. Their journey to forever was like climbing a huge mountain but once you reached the top the view and outlook was worth every step that it took to get there.
Another Marie James homerun!!! This is the 2nd book in the Lindell series but can be read as a stand alone. In my opinion, you should the 1st book Back Against the Wall. This is Adalynn and Cash's story. Adalynn Tate and Cash Tucker have been "best friends". Even though she has had a crush on since junior high, she has kept her feelings to herself, or so she thought. Cash being a little older than Adalynn has also hidden his feelings for her. But felt like his upbringing was what kept him from her. When Cash sees pamphlets on Adalynn's counter about getting pregnant, he jumps on the offer to "help out" in ANY way he can. Once the line has been crossed, can they ever go back to being friends? Or will their "real" feelings finally surface and be more than friends? Easier said than done!!! I loved this couple!! Cash, taking the risk of losing a friend to help her out and Adalyn, wishing she could really tell him how she feels!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Easier Said Than Done is book two in the Lindell series and while each book can be read as a standalone if you wish I think you would enjoy seeing the pre-tension between Adalynn and Cash in the first book, Back Against the Wall. We knew there was a connection between these two, but the title for these two stubborn mules is spot on. In a way these two were in a relationship and didn't realize it, well okay people and the town knew they just were in denial for many many years. The spice level was up on this one especially from the Adalynn we thought we knew, ha and knowing it is shocking to Cash as well cause he thought what we thought. Gotta watch the quieter ones hehe! The prego factor was funny (you will see why cause what are the odds?), but these two could have had so much more if they would have expelled their feelings sooner. I know, I know Easier Said Than Done (pun intended). I love seeing the secondary characters and look forward to Walker and Claire.
Done.... These two were done so many times in the past. But it was Easier to redo, everything that they had been through. Cash grew up as an unwanted child right from the beginning, leading him to never wanting children in the future. When he met Adalynn and they became best friends he also became another member of her family, only he grew up to want more of her but refused to believe he was ever going to be good enough. Adalynn had it all but she fell for her best friend yet couldn't tell him or face the truth even when her bestie Madison tried telling her over and over again to see how her life could grow. These two just couldn't see that being together would work out on a permanent basis, they could figure out how to medically have a baby together but that would be all, until it wasn't enough. We live through the rules and the steps they take to finally be together, for their HEA.
What an interesting scenario the author set up. Note while this is a standalone, there is a previous book in this series (also a standalone) where some of these characters pop up. It may be more enjoyable to start with book one. However I enjoyed this as a standalone (and will go back to book one). Best friends or friend zoned, Cash and Adalynn have the chemistry, but are stuck in their own heads. Both sacrificed their own happiness to conform to what they thought was the right thing. The angst! These two circled one another throughout this book, which made my nerves sit on edge. Will they? Won't they? Such tension! It was a definitely entertaining read, though I found myself yelling at these characters at times. There is some great character building and definitely some curious side characters that will bring me back for future stories. Enjoyable story.
This was cute love story. A little frustrating at times because hello only them two could not see what everyone around them saw. I mean come on I wanted to scream at Adalynn and Cash both so many times “ are you dumb”. Like every time she would say something like buddy or bestie it was painful even for me as a reader like get a clue girl he is so into you. The with Cash when the whole thing at the office when first Eastyn is hired I mean come on Cash it was obvious. For two people who claimed to know the other pretty well they did not know each other’s reactions at all. But with our all of this it wouldn’t have made such a great book which I loved and highly recommend. Now I’m excited and looking forward to Claire and Walkers book that one is going to be fun. Oh and I don’t know about you but I’m waiting on the twins that is going to be very interesting to read.
