Eleanor's heart belongs to one Charles Bennett, her beloved childhood best friend. However, when the exceedingly popular Miss Cumberland sets her sights on Charles, Eleanor's dreams are threatened. In a desperate bid to shield Charles from her rival, Eleanor turns to her bookish uncle, Kelton O'Shea.
Kelton, a confirmed bachelor, is reluctantly drawn into his niece's scheme—to woo Miss Cumberland and divert her attention from Charles. When Kelton meets the young lady, Miss Cumberland is less than impressed by him. In fact, Miss Cumberland is so unimpressed, she writes of her initial disdain in her oft-scathing diary.
Tensions rise, and lines between love and strategy are blurred. Will Eleanor's plan fail, or will Miss Cumberland eventually warm up to Kelton, leading to an unexpected romance of her own?
Incomparable Miss Cumberland is a clean, sweet Regency romance novella.
This is another regency romantic novella by Ms. McQueen which is an ideal relaxing read for a saturday afternoon. In this book we meet Eleanor, she is the ward of a certain Kelton O'Shea, who is a confirmed batchelor, even though he is not that old. Now she is in love with a certain Charles Bennett and as she watches him get closer to her 'friend' Miss Cumberland she plots to divert her attention. She seeks the help of her guardian asking him to pretend to woo Miss Cumberland and of course the plot thickens with the usual twists and turns until the unexpected happens. I just love these fun and easy to read novellas and am such a sucker for the happy endings.
