Growing up as a young child Rae Knight used to hate reading, but as she grew into her adolescent years it all chnaged. It was this love of reading, mixed with her vivid imagination, that had her begin her writing career. The first books she ever wrote were at the age of fifteen scribble in the pages of a spiral notebook. Now a days, you can find her trying hard to write these bios in third person, which she doesn't even do in her books. When she's not teaching, she's mothering three small children. Her writing is mainly done once her littles have fallen asleep for the night.

Rae loves to interact with her readers the most, messaging back any who are willing to speak with her. So, be sure to follow her social media pages and reach out to her. The characters of her books are constantly living in her mind, missing them like dear friends when their stories end.

What I love about Rae Knight , is that her books are easy to read for someone with Dyslexia! I am able imagine everybody ,every character and read with ease gliding through the pages.

I fell in love with her writing style from the minute I read her other books.

Okay , the review for this book is tough !
I loved it !!! I'd recommend this to anyone that loves a good romance and a little bit of spice. (Oh and a small town romance! I get giddy reading this book I feel as if I'm part of the group of friends)

I felt bad for June in the beginning as she's a girl who's misunderstood from everyone the stereotype "goodie two shoes" , I think she's a little bit of a "bady" , her father well surprise he's the sheriff of the town they live in and well , she ends up saving this bad boy (which I think she has had a crush on for a while) aka JJ from almost killing himself (his a bit of jokester) and this is where a beautiful spark between the 2 of them begin , where their eyes meet before the ambulance arrives.
Even though her father forbids JJ to even come close to June , her life changes and she blossoms into a beautiful character as she's now friends with the "bady's" group and eventually gets closer to JJ.
Oh the spark I was talking about , JJ and June become this "enemies to lovers" storytale but will they deny this fate ? , or will they fall inlove ? (They're definitely inlove).

I really loved this book , one of my favorite reads from the year , being an ARC for Rae Knight was such a privilege!

The story was decent, BUT the dialogue and writing sounded fake. It was as if a computer wrote the entire book. I don’t think any of it sounded like something people would ACTUALLY say… and it ended on a cliffhanger

His Last Dare by Rae Knight
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ARC Reader In exchange for a review.

This is the second book I’ve read by Rae Knight and it did not disappoint! If you love a romance book with a little extra added spice, then totally give this a read! Absolutely love the characters in this book, Tiff and Rodney but the main characters stubborn bad boy Jake known as JJ and the Sheriffs daughter known in the book as June I fell in love with! This is a forbidden romance, enemies to lovers book.
Will June listen to her father and stay clear of JJ or will the love they have find a way to one another?
What was lovely to read was the relationship with June and her father and how they start to learn to communicate better throughout the storyline.
This is the kind of book where you have to read the next page, I couldn’t stop, exactly how I was with the first book I read by Rae Knight, definitely an author that knows how to keep her readers hooked in!
Absolutely recommend.

I have been following Raes work over Instagram for a few months now. Discovered her by accident. But I am really glad it happened.

After I read a few of her books, I was luck one to be an ARC for this book. And I can tell you it was a great decision!

I just love how characters were written. And so realistic, without any additional pomp.
And we all had those characters in some part of our life.

This is not some chick-flick you will read on a beach and forget about it. You will be happy, angry, heartbroken while reading, as you will be part of them. You would like to interact with characters, as they are so real and vivid. They have their issues and they are not romanticized as usually. You will ether love them, ether hate them, but if you read deep - you will understand them.

This is wonderful book about love, friendship, hard times and all in between.

Read it, you will not regret it. And you will come back for rereading, that's for sure.

I received this arc from the author and got immediately sucked into this story. Easily bingeable - read it in a day. Small town romance, forbidden love, two misunderstood people. June and JJ’s relationship was what I hoped, I loved seeing them grow to love and trust each other. Definitely heartbreaking and I cried during her dads POV chapter, it was so good. The ending killed me, so many emotions, and I can’t wait to see where the next book goes. I need a HEA!

Ignoring the small punctuation and spelling errors because I assume they were corrected before published

This author is new to me, and depending on the vibes and tropes, I’ll definitely read her again.

This wasn’t my normal type of romance but I thoroughly enjoyed the banter and mishaps along the way.

Check the blurb and if this is something that appeals to you, definitely give it a go! Can’t wait to see what’s to come from her in the future!

It took me a while to get over my reading slump, so I had to put this book down in November and came back to start again and read it in one day!

It was such a cute little small town romance, the family, friends and lovers relationships were told so beautifully. Also really enjoyed how Knight wove in music and art into this story. I look forward to reading what happens next!

His Last Dare: Rae Knight

Synopsis: When the Bad Boy and the Sheriff's Daughter Collide, Will Love Take Over? Juniper McDaniels, better known as June, has lived her entire life, shunned from her peers because of her father's position as sheriff. No one wants to hangout with the girl whose father could throw them in jail. At the first party she's allowed to attend, before starting her summer before college, she saves a life. Not just anyone's life, but bad boy Jake Jacobson, aka JJ, the guy her father tells her to stay away from. Suddenly, June's social life takes a turn, blossoming as she becomes friends with JJ's best friends, and eventually even the bad boy himself. Can these two deny their attractions for one another, or will they fall into the temptation of the forbidden fruit? Enjoy this small town spicy summer romance between two enemies turned lovers, where the bad boy tries not to fall for the sheriff’s daughter.

Review: I was initially drawn to this book because of the synopsis. I haven’t read any other books by Tae Knight to compare to and honestly I even went into this book without having seen the cover. Which I really liked once I saw it, I was pleasantly surprised by it.
I really liked the enemies to lovers/ forbidden romance storyline. I fell in love with June and JJ and also Rodney and Tiff. They are such good friends and would do anything for each other. And you won’t know why until you read it but the sheriff has been added to my villain lists hahah. And the ending!! Rae Knight you rascal you. How could you leave us with that?? I need to know what’s going to happen. I would recommend this to those who love a good romance with a tidbit of spice.

Here are the actual notes I wrote as I was reading the book lol, thought I should include them.
- I liked that you used the “staying alive” for the CPR scene because it will actually keep the correct Rhythm for chest compressions (nurse here).
- Nash, I know he’s supposed to be a nice guy but I get total creeper vibes and Im sure why (30%).
- I was right
- I like how June and her dad learn to communicate and they both are learning and growing from it.

I received this ARC from Rae Knight in exchange for an honest review.

Can saving a life change the whole trajectory of the hero’s life, too? That’s what happened to June in His Last Dare by Rae Knight, when she saved the life of JJ, the town bad boy. She went from the recluse sheriff’s daughter with no friend’s to a girl with friends and fun to be had. As JJ becomes less adversary and more appealing, June’s world tilts even further. Just how many of her father’s rules is she willing to break in order to explore the connection she feels with JJ? Can two people from such different backgrounds find love so young, or are they headed for certain heartbreak?

This is my first book by this author, and I am really impressed. The prologue had my heart in my throat, and I stayed completely engrossed in the story throughout! The world building is great with compelling characters that emphasize the importance of strong friendships and that found family vibe, which is one of my favorite themes in books. JJ was a complex character that started off a bit rude and stand-offish, but as you learn his backstory and watch him open up a little, he makes more sense, and you forgive him for it mostly.😏 I admire June for how well-adjusted she is given how unbelievably strict her dad is!👀 I loved watching their relationship evolve in the slow burn format, throwing some spice when appropriate. Who knew JJ could be so sweet at times!😍 The banter between them and with Tiff and Rodney was fun, and there were plenty of twists, turns, and drama to keep it interesting! The emotions throughout felt raw and authentic, and I was tearing up at a certain point. The one drawback for me, was of course, the cliffhanger! I am never a fan of those, especially when I don’t know exactly when the next book is coming!🫣😂 But, I will definitely be reading it to see how this one plays out!!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is an enemies to lovers you’ll never forget. It has kept me awake countless nights over the past few weeks and I’m so glad. I was pulled into the world of this book and loved the character development of June and JJ. I also loved their friend group and they’re sneaking around and having fun as it’s their last summer before college. It was also such an easy and fun read that kept me from the beginning. June and JJ are also the best and cutest. The ending has also broken me into a million pieces so you best believe that I’m starting the next book as we speak! :))

Rae Knight has done it once again. This book had me drawn in from the very beginning, and I could not put it down. The characters are so thought out, making you instantly fally in love with them.

This book has all the drama of any small down and puts you on a roller-coaster full of emotions, with many twists and turns but of course love prevails in the end.

If you are looking for a young live story with twists and turns and some heartbreak I recommend giving this book a read. You can’t help but fall in love with the chapters. The twists that they have to manage definitely made me drop my jaw. Without saying too much I was impatiently waiting for the second book!

This was such a great small town, enemies to lovers romance. And aldo includes coming of age and first love. The imagination was so vivid and made you want to live in the small town of Lavender Hills. I love June with her shy personality, yet is funny and a spitfire. JJ is the bad boy of the town but is much deeper than he lets on. Their love story is so sweet.

Soooo good

That ending. Her father...her friends...I can't. How does Rae Knight write so well and do this to me every time. She gets me so swept up in her books for hours on end until I devour them. I gotta read part 2 today. I'm in a trance. Great writing. Great storyline. Loved it!

4.5⭐️ this was a feel good and a little different than what I normal lean towards. She saved him from downing, then she became friends with him and his friends and the rest is history. Beware the end is 100000% a cliff hanger and I will now have to read the next book.

This book was about Jake and June. Jake grew up being neglected by his dad after his mom left when he was 4. He didn’t have a relationship with his dad at all since he disappeared all the time. He had a disease and instead of getting help for it he kept drinking away his life. Jake had some really good friends in Rodney and Tiff. One night he was at a party and he was dared to jump off a cliff. He didn’t come back up so June jumped in and pulled him out. She had to give him CPR to get him back. This was the first time she met any of them on a personal level. He was taken to the hospital and the three of them rode together. When the got to the hospital June’s father the sheriff showed up. He was upset with June and they went home after he was told what happened. Jake took a long time to open up to June and when he did he was super happy. Things were so good for a long time and then something happened that broke the 4 of them.

Great until half way

Sadly I could only make it half way through the book. I made it to Chapter 21 but just couldn't continue on even though I actually LOVED the storyline.
I enjoyed this book alot, I liked the various characters, the descriptions of each one but also the illustrations of each to give you a better picture of them.
I liked the depth of the characters and the way that each had their own story to tell through the book.
I was really enjoying the developing relationship between JJ and June but also the friendship with Tiff.

The one thing that stopped me in my tracks and I just sadly can't continue is the love scene. Everything was great until then. I enjoyed the physical development of JJ & June and the descriptions of the feelings with the physical connections.
The ONLY thing I can't get past is that a virgin with absolutely NO experience or experience with a friendship or relationship DOES NOT go from kissing with tongue to s*x. There was no in between except during the act and that was minor.
There needed to be a build-up of physical connections especially with a bad experience that happens earlier in the book.

The book was so real and accurate to real life until then and sadly you just know that if June were real in life then it would be gradual because that's the personality we're told about in the book.

There were also alot of either auto-corrected word changes or words in the wrong order. But that didn't bother me as much as this.

I wish I could put it aside but you can't just back peddle and now go through the other 'love' acts.

2024 PopSugar Challenge #34: A book with at least three POVs

This story was emotional and kept me turning the page. JJ and June never expected to have such a connection but can it be enough? I am so glad that this duet is complete and I don't have to wait for the ending of their story.

This book is so cute and heartbreaking all at the same time. You have this girl June, that her father is a cop and no one wants to hang around her cause of that. She meets a boy name JJ that annoys her to the fullest but then one day she saves him. Well feelings come and will they start to enjoy each other and not annoy each other anymore. Well this summer love lasts when they go to college. I am so excited to see what happened in part two.

The Bond the JJ and Jane start to have is so fun and loving. It a teenage love that you see grow. It put me back to my first love and everything that came with that. Beside that her best friend that is also JJ friend has her love too. So you have 2 couples and the summer. Along with more drama that you need to read to find out.

This book is full of Teenage drama. And I am all for it. This book had me holding my mouth, wowing, and ahhh ❤️ too!!! I need more and I need to find out what happens... This book leaves you with the best little cliff hanger and I need to push right into the 2nd book.

I absolutely love this author. I am going to be reading 5 of her books this month. 2 series and I am so excited to see what happens. She put so much drama, great background story, little spicy and it perfect.

Great book!!!! Must read!!
