Destyne: The Four Kingdoms

Rate this book
LOVE. TREASON. SORROW. VENGEANCE.Destyne's world appeared to be living perfectly in peace, thanks to an alliance that was agreed upon by all four kingdoms of Creatence. The former princess grew up in a kind and loving family who were dedicated to their kingdom and whose subjects loved them equally in return. It is because of her father, formerly known as King Saber of Land, that the planet lives in peace and unity.Three of the four kingdoms of Creatence had almost fully destroyed each other during the War of Kings, in hopes of total domination and power over the planet. That was until one day when King Ender of Fire begged King Saber for help and forgiveness. If the kingdoms had succeeded in destroying each other, Creatence would crumble, and all forms of life would cease to exist. An alliance was met, stripping royalty of their titles and with a promise for all the kingdoms to live in peace as equals...or so Destyne thought. After the ninth anniversary of the alliance, the truth began to slowly unravel and the existence of evil was reignited. The life Destyne thought she knew turned upside down when she stared into the familiar eyes of a raven, a stranger she has somehow loved for . . . centuries. Nothing seemed to make sense anymore, except the one thing that remained Creatence needed to be saved.Through love, treason, and sorrow, Destyne embarks upon a journey through space and time in search for answers...and vengeance. Could the prophecy be true? Is she the one needed to conquer and rule the universe, or will her father's dreams of peace and unity prevail . . . and if so, at what cost?

I found this book at a free little library as the author apparently lives nearby, and I had to give it a shot, as I like fantasy-adventure-books.

The beginning is a little slow, yes, and feels like it’s going to fall into a lot of the tropes - mystery fated stranger, magic teenage girl, etc etc, but keep reading - it gets SO interesting! The multiple planets, confusing timelines, and twists just kept pulling you in. I also like how they handle the mystery-fated-stranger, but I won’t say anymore ☺️ As soon as I finished I went to see if the second one is out yet (it is!) Will read and review that one too ASAP.

Wonderful Read

Each night, this book was the spell that gently carried me into sleep. I slowly devoured the pages. There’s something wondrous about how certain fantasy worlds weave themselves into the fabric of life, steadying us through change. This story did exactly that.

The characters were vivid and endearing, the world-building imaginative and refreshing. The story unfolded with originality, heart, and a sense of wonder that stayed with me long after I closed the book. Highly recommend.
