Well written and beautifully illustrated, but an ultimately unnecessary entry into the Assassin's Creed universe. Ubisoft keeps trying to milk it's most lucrative cash cow dry and might be on the verge of succeeding.

More an 2,5 than 2 stars.

I have to say this is one of the weaker entries in the Assassin’s Creed Expanded Universe.
The premise is promising—a young monk teaming up with a secret society to uncover the riddles of mysterious ancient scripts—but the execution falls short. The story lacks depth, and the characters are underdeveloped, which makes it difficult to stay invested.

Compared to other entries like Assassin’s Creed: Conspiracies or The Fall, this one lacks the same narrative impact. It's especially disappointing because I enjoy stories that explore the pursuit of knowledge and the philosophical questions that come with it.

There are a few elements that might interest dedicated fans. It’s nice to see King Aelfred again after the events of the game, along with a few other familiar faces—but unfortunately, they’re reduced to little more than cameos. These inclusions add little to the plot and feel like missed opportunities, making this story mostly appealing to hardcore fans only.

Wizualnie super, mogłabym przeczytać więcej komiksów w tym stylu, pasuje to też do serii asasyńskiej. Fabularnie gorzej…

Not bad. A monk is set free after being captured by some Vikings. He becomes part of a secret society when his brother goes missing. Some of the more mystical stuff doesn't make a lot of sense but it starts off pretty strong.

If you enjoy Assassian’s Creed tales, this was an east one to jump into with intersting characters and locations. It’s not bad and not awe inspiring. Fun distraction.
