“Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” -Ps 30:5
We live in a world that knows the darkness of night yet has been forever transformed by the light of Christ that ushers in the dawn.
Advent invites us to journey through the darkness to discover the light, the incarnate Word of God who “shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5).
In this devotional, you will be invited daily to focus your entire being—mind, soul, and strength—on the light of Christ as revealed in Scripture. You will hear classic wisdom from men and women who have gone ahead of us, bearing witness to the light as it transformed their lives. And through the prayers and reflective practices, you are invited not simply to think about the light of Christ but to open your life to his transforming grace.
Though darkness may press in on every side, threatening to overwhelm, we cling to the joy that comes with the morning, for Christ is with us. In the timeless words of Silent Night, this Advent, let us rejoice afresh in “the dawn of redeeming grace.”
I thoroughly enjoy the Dwell devotionals when matched with listening to Rosie's voice as she reads the Scripture passages for each day.
Dwell the devotional on their website as well so some days I listened to Russell read it and others I read the devotional. Each day's devotional was punchy and to the point, with a short prayer and a recommendation for a followup action.
