Jesus’ arrival on earth changed the course of history forever. Not only for those who lived in the first century, but for those of us in the twenty-first century as well. The miracle and marvel of the Advent season demonstrates that we are precious to Him. He’s not a distant God. He is Emmanuel, God with us. That includes wherever you are, right now.
Throughout the Old Testament, we find descriptions, allusions, prophecies, and even foreshadowing of the long-anticipated Messiah. The Messiah is Jesus, whose purpose and promise was not limited by His humanity. In this Bible study, you will learn that it’s not your behavior that earns the kindness of a holy God; it’s the presence of Jesus coming to Earth to be with you, always.
Join Christine Caine and Lisa Harper this Advent season for a four-session video Bible study like no other. Your hope and spirit will be revived as you recapture the wonder of Jesus’ obvious love for you. You’ll discover that Advent is not only a season of waiting and preparation, but also, it’s a season of action to share the hope of Jesus with everyone.

When I see that Lisa Harper's cowritten a book, it attracts me because I love her teaching style. I also appreciated Christine's enthusiasm, but at times I found them a bit judgmental. On one hand, they say you don't have to be perfect to follow Jesus and on the other: "We've got so many Christians cheating and watching nasty stuff on Netflix". Older women are told not to be so miserable because we've got to be an example to the younger generation. I don't think pressuring people to be joyful is in any way beneficial, especially when you don't know what they face from day to day. I would semi-recommend this book; each of the 4 sessions had a good message, but I wish it had been written more compassionately and without assuming the worst of others.
Very basic Advent study. The video was easy to access on line. Lisa Harper is a very effective teacher. Christine not so much. Disconcertingly manic in her presentation. Was hoping for a deeper dive. Questions for discussion are very predictable. Reviewed as a possible study for my church small group, but will probably opt for "Low".
These ladies are FIRE!! I loved the videos that went along with this study, but just felt like the actual study guide fell kinda flat. A lot of the questions felt repetitive and I think there just needed to be more hope added to them… like “if you haven’t felt this way (or whatever it was), how would you encourage someone else through it OR give words to your testimony and journal about it…”
This was a great study on the Marvel if Advent. Lisa and Christine take you to an understanding and help to focus on the most precious gift of our savior and all the things that God had planned even before Christ was born. A perfect way to ready our hearts for the fulfillment and appreciation of the Birth of Christ. Loved it!
Great little workbook for advent. Comes with a video for each week with engaging teaching. Each week has 3-4 lessons to complete, but not too much during a busy season. I loved taking the time to be intentional during Christmas to lean into the real meaning of the holiday.
Great instruction of Advent from Christine Caine and Lisa Harper. I loved reading this before actual Advent, prepared me well for the priority of Christmas season.
