If you've ever waited on the Lord for something—direction, answers, resolution, strength—you know how challenging it can be. Even when we fully believe that God sees and hears our requests, if we're honest, we sometimes view waiting as wasted time. But, what if it's not? What if waiting is the means God uses to make us more like Christ? What if there are some pieces of God's character that we’ll only learn while we wait?
If that's true… how do we lean in? What lessons do these seasons hold? How do we keep hoping and believing what we know to be true?
In this six-week study, you’ll explore five biblical narratives that put God's faithfulness to waiting people on display and help you direct your gaze from the answers you're seeking to the God who meets you while you wait.

My Sunday School class watched the DVD and did the study guide of this study. I had previously done Ms. Simons study called TruthFilled and I think I liked Now and Not Yet study best. I personally enjoyed the DVD of this study. The main focus was: To know God is at work even when you don't see the progress you're looking for. To start where you are in this very moment. Because he's not through with you yet.
I would recommend this study for a small group rather than individual.
Beautifully laid out and thoughtfully composed study guide that can be used with or without the main book "Now and Not Yet" by the same author. Excellent companion and guided Bible reading or supplementation to the main book. This is not because the study guide walks hand in hand with each chapter, as the main book and the study guide have different trajectories, but because the main volume does not have as much Scripture backing as I would like sprinkled through the pages, whereas Scripture is the main focus of the study guide. Both together offer a well-rounded study of Scriptural examples and relatable application.
This study guide reintroduced me to studying Scripture in an analytical, focused, intentional way, while strengthening my skills in cross-referencing other verses and parts of the Bible. I personally found it quite helpful and encouraging. It has room for both Yes/No answers as well as challenging questions and worthwhile introspection. Prayers are included and it is designed to be used for either personal or group study.
I really enjoyed this study! It’s honest, peaceful, and full of encouragement for anyone in a waiting or uncertain season. Ruth Chou Simons does such a great job reminding us that God’s timing is perfect, even when we can’t see it yet. The reflections and questions helped me slow down and trust His process more.
