Thank you to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

I really did like this book! It was definitely kind of shallow and repetitive, however I did think it provided a lot of valuable information!! My one comment was that it was definitely very surface level and it was very casual. It was great because I’ve never really done a deep dive into enneagram types, but if you were looking for a little bit more in depth info, this might not be the best book. Overall, I learned a lot and it was fun and easy to understand! I would recommend to anyone starting to learn about their enneagram!!

Very demure, very mindful 😌

This was actually really interesting, and besides the fact that I was freaking people out by coming up to them and explaining their personality to them, I think it was helpful too. It helps you better understand people's motives and feelings to avoid conflict. It helps you understand yourself better too, of course.

I almost gave it three stars because it got a little boring at times, but I'm not going to do that to this book. I think it's just because I'm a fiction girl and I don't stick with this kind of book that well.

Anywayyy, I do honestly think people should read it. It's very insightful and can be very helpful.

This is fascinating!!

I have never heard of Enneagram's before, however I kind of recognised the diagram once I began reading.
As someone that works with young people, I'm always interested in understanding young people better and helping them to have a better understanding of themselves. This is why I wanted to read the book in the first place.
Not only did I learn more about young people, but about myself and the kind of personality troupes iI have - good and bad haha
I definitely will be reading more about enneagrams to further my deeper knowledge about myself and others.

5/5 stars!!
Honestly, I was a bit skeptical when I saw the title of this book but, I LOVED IT!!! This book went in depth on each of the 9 enneagram numbers and broke down how they each respond in love relationships, faith, friends and family, and stress. It was not too much. I think this book would be great for honestly men and women interested in understanding themselves and other more clearly.

Thank you NetGalley for the ability to read this book before the release!

Just wish it had a quiz/test inside to tell what type you are.

The Enneagram for Teens” is a fascinating introduction for young adults seeking to discover their core motivators (and those of others as well.) I’ve always been fascinated with the Enneagram. It has shown me traits of my personality, why I feel the way I do about things, and has helped me grow.

This guide focuses on young adults coming into their own and helps them determine which of the nine Enneagram types (The Moral Compass, The Helper, The Heroic Leader, The Unique Creative, The Deep Thinker, The Loyalist, The Adventurer, The Challenger, and The Gentle Peacemaker) they are. I love how it spotlights ways to grow both emotionally and spiritually, and what kinds of careers might fit their individual personalities.

Although I’m decades away from the intended target group of this book, I was fully immersed. As I read there were so many instances where a particular person in my life came to light and helped me better understand them on a deeper level.

There’s a particular passage in the beginning of the book that sums up one of its biggest takeaways:

The Enneagram changed my life because it helped me understand why God made me the way he did. When I took a deeper look at myself, I stopped picking apart things I would change and I started to think, “Whoa, I’m actually beginning to feel ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ by my Creator, like Psalm 139 says. -Quote from the Author’s Note

First Line (Author’s Note): My Enneagram journey began when I was twenty-two years old.

Knowing basically nothing about Enneagrams, I did a complete deep dive into this book and the author, and I’m so glad I did!

Ainsley is probably the most incredibly thoughtful and kind author of this kind of content I’ve ever read. It’s very brave, scriptural, honest, and the most important thing I’ve picked up to read in years. I literally want to hand a copy of this to every young person I know. You all have so many things to juggle…as much we try…no, we really do not always understand.

Ainsley walks you gently and thoroughly through all the Enneagram types, and then delves into the subtypes and other aspects of this amazing journey…and it going to be an incredible journey. She also provides all the resources you will possibly need to continue your study including links to videos, books lists, courses, websites, etc. Some of these you will want to explore, and some you may not! This will be your journey. However, the tools will be there.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. Full review on blog - just wanted to share a little here bc this book is so great!

This book is a must-have resource for teens and those who have or work with teens! It is both professional and user-friendly. As an Enneagram-certified coach, Ainsley obviously knows what she's talking about and has put a lot of thought and research into everything she's included in the book. However, at the same time, she maintains a comfortable, unpretentious tone throughout that welcomes the reader into the wealth of advice, resources, and encouragement the book has to offer. The letters of encouragement to each type were actually my favorite parts.

Whether you're a teen or someone who loves and/or works with teens, this is a must have to help you better understand and relate to your teen(s) in a positive and effective way. Using this resource and encouraging them to use it as well will help them feel seen and understood. Great for growth and advice, great for encouragement, and great for better relationships.

[I received a free electronic review copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.)

4 stars = Great! Might re-read.

This was great - I really liked the "voice" in the writing, and I loved the approach to both Career and Faith taken in the book. The chapter for my type felt spot on. My only "complaint" is that the author does suggest readers might try a test as a secondary attempt to find their numbers. This is a personal bias - I think the tests are wrong more often than they are right.

The entries and the sub-sections aren't too long or to dry/detailed, so I think this would be a great introduction to the Enneagram for teens - a good teaser that can lead those who like this into other works. Would definitely give to teens curious about the Enneagram.

I’m fascinated by personality tools, and I love discussing the usefulness of the enneagram with my three children (ages 20, 18, and 16). My daughter and I regularly talk about being Enneagram 1’s, and all the delights and challenges of that configuration. We also talk about other types and learn how to relate to them with greater understanding. This book is an excellent introduction to the topic. It gives good insight into understanding yourself and others better, so you can be more loving and forgiving. I highly recommend it.

The good:
Very nice overview of the enneagram types, which helped me think about what type I might be (I'm still not sure though!). It was very comprehensive and useful!

The bad:
I assumed this book would be written more specifically for teens, because of the title, and it really wasn't. Honestly, there was nothing about being a teen in the book, so I'm confused why it is marketed that way. Also, I wish there was a little more variety in the chapters, because they were all feeling the same by the end.

Overall thoughts:
It was a decent book overall, but I wasn't the biggest fan!

The book is particularly useful for young readers who are new to the Enneagram and are looking for a resource that is both informative and easy to understand. It’s also a great resource for parents, youth pastors, and educators looking for tools to guide teens on their journey of self-discovery. I really enjoyed reading this book! It should definitely be on more websites like shabd.in so that more people can read it.

Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC of this title!

It was fun and pretty much what you expect from a book on the Enneagram personality types. I would recommend it if you are new to the concept, as it does have good checklists and examples that can help you understand what the numbers everyone is talking about mean.

Good rating for being accurate and spot on

Christian author incorporates Gd's involvement but mainly religion is covered under the faith category of each type (among other categories like career, advice, etc.)
