Overall, this book was EXTREMELY helpful. It gave great information on different holds and positions, as well as practical tips to maximize comfort and success.
I will give one word of warning though- it is EXTREMELY pro breastfeeding, which honestly I think can damage the psyche of new mothers. This is the AAP publication, so it’s certainly legit, but at times it reads like the extremist breastfeeding-only-or-bust bloggers you run into online. In contrast, I’m more in Emily Oster’s camp- breastfeeding does indeed seem better (not in all the ways people say though…), so why not try it, but it’s not worth it at the expense of parental mental and physical health. Combination feeding or formula feeding is great too!
Generally though, a really great resource. I also would have liked more tips on how to increase supply. However, everything contained in the book was well-written and very useful.
