I really enjoyed this book and all the details it gave about Chuck Connors. The author was a friend of Chuck's and spent a lot of time with him. I enjoyed the memories he shared of their times together. If you are a rifleman fan you will be a fan of this book also.
I have been a fan of Kevin "Chuck" Connors for 50 years and was expecting more in depth interviews with the man himself and was disappointed. This was basically a list of the filmology with an occasional tidbit about his interaction with children and fellow actors. I miss the great actor who tugged at our emotions whether as a family man, a villain, a hero or just a good guy in his films.
this recounts the life of a man who played pro basketball and pro baseball. then, went on to become a famous actor. also, in the military. married and divorced three times. sons briefly mentioned. faithfully shares contests of all the films and tv in which he appeared. b/w images.
I knew very little about Chuck Connors. I was too young to remember the original showing of the TV series. I started watching The Rifleman this year and was happy to find the series was started at the beginning on METV. I love the Rifleman and it has become one of my favorites. This biography starts with Connors' sports career and ends with his death. Mr. Connors was a wonderful person and I'm very happy to have learned more about him. For anyone who loves Mr. Connors and The Rifleman, I highly recommend this book.
