Rate this book
Ashdan's memory is gone. She can't remember her family, friends, or loved ones. All she knows is she does the King's bidding. Fights who he says to fight. Kills who he says to kill. Obey at all costs or the one friend she does remember will be executed. One night, as she's carrying out another of the King's orders, she realizes she's being watched. She attacks the stalker and pins him to the ground, intending to do away with the potential enemy, only - she knows that face.

Crown Prince Emyr has been locked away in his palace rooms since being "rescued" by his father's men several months ago. The friends he made are either dead or on the run. A family scandal surrounding his birth is threatening to reveal itself and burst from his skin. The woman he lov- well, she was executed by his father for her part in his kidnapping. Few things are going right in the Prince's world until one night when wandering the palace gardens, he watches the cleanest, swiftest, most silent murder he's ever seen. Her elegant dress isn't even wrinkled as she lays the corpse on the ground and suddenly he knows. She might be wearing a different face thanks to her shapeshifting powers, but he knows it's Ashdan. She's still alive.

A star-crossed romance, a mad king, a found family, and a political coup. Memory and Mutiny is the epic next installment to the Jesimae series by S.E. Zell.

If you are looking for something to read that will keep you interested the whole way through, look no further than this book - unless you're looking for its prequel, Ransom & Ruin, in which case, go read that first then come straight back to this one!

I have been looking forward to reading this book for the longest time! Well, 2 months, but that is a freaking long time when you're left on an unbelievable cliff-hanger!

There is so much to go into in this book that if I went into everything I wanted to I would spoil the entire thing. So I'm going to do my best to keep this short and sweet for you.

M&M picks up a few months after the events of R&R but we are filled in on the gaps very quickly. The prologue is told from the viewpoint of Aedrik who was the King of Thieves in R&R. Unfortunately, following the events of R&R he is locked in a coma-like stasis used to preserve and sustain his life. It's heartbreaking to read his thoughts but it pulls you into the story in the best way!

We then jump to his sister Ashdan who's memories have been wiped following a curse placed on her by the main villain in R&R. She regains her memories by the end of her chapter and this kick starts the events of the book.

Old villains return in new and exciting ways and much beloved characters are placed under new stresses and obstacles that will have you looking at each of them in a new light.

We see a King drowning in shadows.
We cry for a Prince torn between love and duty.
We ache for a Man simply trying to save his family.
And we break for a Woman who just wants to be whole again.

The ending will leave you conflicted, shattered and emotionally wreaked, but it is so worth the experience!

I was blessed to receive an advance copy of this book and I cannot thank the author enough for giving me such a wonderful masterpiece to fall in love with! My heart is shattered but I cannot wait to see what comes next from this talented author!

Of course the first book is still my favorite! Now they’ve gotten the thieves’ evil mom hidden in a necklace. Sedrick is in some weird coma because of her. Emyr’s father has went extremely crazy. Ashdan is now working for his father. No one has seen Calloway. Aedrian is basically trying to hold it together with the now good guy Killian. It just starts off a mess, but not a bad mess, chaos that makes for an amazing story line. In this book there’s traveling to other lands and meeting so many different types of people in this world. Amazing new characters that you will love! At least I did! But an ending that will have you going through all the emotions. I just hope that there is a third book to continue this story. This would make such an amazing television show!
