I don’t agree with absolutely everything in this book, but on the whole, it was pretty good. I was curious about this topic (what exactly demons can do to the believer), and it answered most of my questions. I think it’s a topic more believers should be educated about.

Rather repetitive, organization seemed scattered. Often lacking detail or specific examples to support a claim. I expected more from someone of Unger’s reputation and circulation. None of the academic rigor I had hoped for.

This, and mark Bubeck's books on spiritual warfare are level-headed, not sensational, and the focus is on Jesus Christ, not the enemy.
The Church needs to get back in the fight and stop pretending the devil is a Halloween icon; failed marriages in the Church, and fallen ministries are signs of the apathy in the Church regarding warfare in spiritual places.
Lack of Scripture reading and communing with our Heavenly Father are putting us at risk for failure, and so unnecessary; God gave us Scripture in our daily language through the torturous deaths of many men in the 1500's England and Germany!
We need to commune with our God as we read His Love Letters to us!

This is the first book in a line of books of this kind. I have read one other book by Unger, his Bible Handbook, which was highly comprehensive of the OT and NT in survey form. This book is much more personal and spiritual. Unger describes how Christians can and have become possessed, controlled, influenced, and targeted by demons. He also builds a very strong case to support each of these thoughts and actions. Much of this book has been written from his own first-hand accounts and also much of it supported directly by Scripture. I can see his case and this book causes me to desire to more fully expand upon this topic by taking in other views, which I hope to be able to do in the near future. In the meantime, I do feel edified and blessed to have read these contents and will share these thoughts with others throughout my Kingdom work.

This book is well written and very informative. Scripturally grounded, Dr Unger expounds on the truth of how and why Christians struggle with strongholds and remaining in bondage to Satan and his demons. He carefully and concisely warns Christ followers to be aware of Satan's ploys and awake to demonic tactics of paralyzing and despoiling the witness Christians have. Answered some questions I had as well clarified some personal life experiences. Thought provoking and inspiring. Thank you, Dr. Unger.

No matter where one is in their stance regarding the possibility of demon possession and 'demonization' toward a true saved believer, this book will challenge and provoke thought. Well written with many true accounts and experiences throughout. The most important message within this book is found in the lives of those who have overcome such obstacles; coupled with scripture and wisdom, this book should serve as an eye-opening warning as well as a comforting awe in knowing "...greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4

Unger’s approach starts off very theologically sound but divulges in a tad bit too much speculation as to the reasoning behind certain Biblical events (claiming that Cain, Korah, Ananias and Saphira were all demon possessed to some degree.)
He does give solid insight and advice but relies too much on missionary testimonies to prove his points.
Overall a good book though and it gives a good perspective.

Outstanding !!!

Loaded with crucial information a must for every born again believer, and the true clear gospel message that we are saved by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ not if works ! Faith alone in Christ alone for salvation. We as Christian’s must understand what doors we leave open for the enemy when we live in willful sin and the consequences of abusing God’s grace.
