Dillon Fitzgerald is a famous singer. He’s also exhausted. Too many shows in a too busy schedule have left too little time for him to write or relax. He feels like the music is being strangled out of him. Some time is just what the doctor ordered, so when his friend offers him a week on a cruise, Dillon gets right on board. All he has to do is grow a little beard and hope no one recognizes him.

Financial advisor Tio Smythe-Barrett has been friends with Dillon forever. When the latest in a long string of girlfriends turns out to be a cheater, Tio offers her spot on what would have been a romantic vacation to Dillon instead. After all, why wouldn’t he want to spend a week with his best friend?

As Tio and Dillon share close quarters, the boundaries in their friendship shift like the ocean currents. Spending time with Tio has Dillon’s creative muse singing, and he can no longer deny that his feelings for Tio go beyond friendship. His heart soars when Tio responds to his flirting—but is he willing to risk what they have for the chance at true love?

Thoughts: I really enjoyed this story. The characters are believable and their conflict realistic. Dillon is out and proud, but he’s never had a real relationship. His life doesn’t allow much time for that. Tio is bisexual jumping from one woman’s bed to another, but never finding one who really draws him in. Dillon has always been a friend, but when they go on a cruise together, Tio discovers that there is a lot more to explore than “friendship”. Between fending off Dillon’s fans and Tio’s ex, there’s a lot going on for this cruise.

While I did enjoy the story, there was one thing for me that I questioned. Tio’s ex, Carole. I really would have loved to have seen her taken off in handcuffs. Something needed to be seriously done about her. I didn’t care for the way that seemed to be left hanging.

Recommendation: Recommended. This is a hot M/M romance with a satisfying ending.

Friends to lovers, Tio and Dillon…

Friends to lovers, a story of Tio and Dillon.
Dillon/Aaron, a famous singer finished his tour, he’s grown his beard and longer hair to be incognito in his break.
Horatio/Tio, 32, a successful Investment Manager has solid muscles, and long hair to his shoulders, and just broke up with his now ex, Carole.
Dillon’s time off is needed, and Tio offers his BFF a cruise. They can both relax, regroup and have fun. They know each other well, and their time together, in close quarters is easy, until it isn’t.
Tio is having new feelings.
Tip’s ex shows up and is annoying and gets worse.
This story is a slow burn, the guys are having a good time, with lots of ship activities, and some terrific people are met.
They do end up talking about feelings, and the sexy times, firsts for Tio, are super hot and exciting.
There is much more to tell, and we do get Tio’s standoff with his Dad, and the ex gets her due.
We get an HEA.
Enjoy !

I wanted to like this book because I really love the famous person / regular person trope but it just didn’t do it for me. For most of the book the fame wasn’t really an issue or help the story at all. Also the 2 main characters had no chemistry and honestly I felt like they really didn’t like each other romantically very much. They seemed to be settling.
I didn’t think either character was very likable to begin with.
The storyline was mid even though it seemed like it would be fun and good. I was actually bored most of the book.

It's Andrew Grey. So, a well written book with a crazy woman character. Would truly love to see the secondary characters be realistic, not cardboard.

I enjoyed this book and I really liked Dillon and Tio, especially together. I’m typically a big fan of friends to lovers and I think Andrew Grey does a good job with this one. These characters feel very real and relatable and I really wanted to see them find happiness together.

Dillon is a famous singer coming off a tour and he’s worn out. He just wants some time to relax and recharge so he can get to work on some new music, but his manager keeps coming up with more and more for him to do. Tio, a busy financial advisor and also Dillon’s best friend has a vacation coming up that was supposed to be with his girlfriend but after catching her cheating, they’re no longer together and she not welcome on the vacation. When Tio sees how worn out Dillon is he convinces him to go on the vacation with him and really be able to get away and relax.

There’s an interesting dynamic between these two, Dillon is out and proud but hasn’t really had time for real relationships and Tio knows he’s bisexual but has always been with women, mostly because he knows how his father would feel about him being with a man. There’s definitely an attraction between Dillon and Tio but they’ve never acted on it, that is until this vacation where they’re on a cruise ship together. I liked the connection these guys already have established as friends and you can definitely see it grow to hot chemistry as they start exploring more together.

I really liked seeing how they develop from friends to so much more, it’s sweet and it feels very natural, these two just seem to belong together. These two are pretty much drama free together, but of course there’s outside drama for them. First there’s Tio’s crazy ex Carole who actually shows up on the cruise in an attempt to get Tio back, then there’s Dillon’s manager and what he’s actually up to and finally Tio’s father and their difficult relationship. They certainly add drama to the story but these two lean on each other and figure it out together and I really liked seeing that. They truly have each others’ backs and support each other.

Overall, a sweet read, I loved seeing these two fall deep in love and find the happiness they really deserve! It’s a quick read but filled with lots of emotion and will leave you with a smile!

I did love the book however the ex-girlfriend drove me up the wall the way she was and especially in that last chapter before the epilogue. I hope she fried. (No murder wasn't committed but I wanted to slug her).

Dillon is a singer and he's coming off of a tour wanting to relax. His best friend had a cruised booked and didn't want to go alone after he dumps his cheating ex girlfriend. So Tio asks Dillon to go amd he agrees.

Really loved their time together and the fun they has. Watching them fall deeper in love as the cruise went on. The advice that they both got from the friendly couple they met. I adored Claudia and Jack.

The song that Dillon dedicated to Tio was perfect and that ending was as well. I love Andrew's books and so glad I read this.

Dillon and Horatio have been best friends since high school. Dillon, who is gay, sings and Tio, who is bi, is in banking and has an impossible homophobic father. They end up in a suite on a cruise ship together, and Dillon, who has been traveling under his real name (Aaron Fisher) gets pressed into service as a singer where he gets to use his stage name, By the end of the book they are engaged to be married. GREAT book, Andrew!

It's hard to say Goodbye to great stories!

It's like I'm going to go through withdrawal with no more great stories from Andrew Grey. It is what it is. Dillon and Tios' story was about following your heart instead of your mind and truly becoming your true self. It doesn't matter how long it takes. Just do it! THANK YOU ANDREW! ENJOY!

Fun in the sun and more!

A Caribbean cruise—perfect antidote for winter and a chance to relax. If only all the passengers could be as fun as Claudia and Jack! Enjoy how best friends Dillon and Tio handle the changing dynamics between them, Tio’s crazy, stalker ex-girlfriend, and the steamy moments that’ll rock their world!!!

This was a sweet friends to lovers story. If you're looking for a steamy read, this isn't it. But it is a solid story about a long term friendship transitioning into something more. While the 'major' conflict is a lack of talking to each other, in this situation it fit and didn't feel like a crutch the author was using in order to add tension.

Friends to lovers story on a cruise ship. Falling for a straight man is always a problem for gay men, but sometimes it turns out that your very straight best friend ends up falling for you.

Nicely done.

3.5 stars.

Overall, it was cute, but 1/2 star less because I didn't really see the point of the ex girlfriend being a weirdo- this character felt forced and totally unbelievable.
