Which was after feeding every 90 minutes.
And expert comments from all relatives on why this is happening.

Yes, parenting is hard.

I have loved books for as long as I can remember.

Quite often, I get asked who inspired me to read and write as much as I do. When I look back, I realise that it wasn’t so much who, but more the surroundings I grew up in, that brought out the dreamer, and what appears to be the poet in me.
I wrote “Splashing Water” at the age of 14, in the breath-taking valleys of Sonmarg, Kashmir. The serenity and tranquility of the valleys clearly had a profound effect in helping me follow my passion. Since then, I have continued to write many more poems and articles. Whilst some have been published in school newsletters and local papers, others have simply sat on the shelf thanks to the rigmarole we call life.

In terms of work, I’ve enjoyed a varied career path. Having graduated with a Masters Degree in Computing Sciences in Sydney, I spent the first 15 years of my career with a large IT corporation. I left the corporate rat race to start up my own export business. Although the business was thriving and recognised as an award-winning enterprise, there was always a part of me that simply wanted to write a book.

My move to India in mid-2015 was a key trigger in kick-starting this process. The start of a new beginning in a new place was almost like a free ticket to pursue my dream. With colouring today being the new black, I made my first break in 2016 with “Alphabet Heroes” - a book about colour, art and creativity for children.

Any qualms I had about moving to a new country were dispelled on the completion of my first book. This was clearly what I had always been looking to do.
If I had to pick a common theme that sits behind my books, it would be the inherent belief that there is a child in all of us that wishes life was as simple as it was when we were young and carefree. The act of sitting down and colouring is a perfect example of this. Today the pundits have labelled coloring as therapy. Perhaps it is simply about taking our mind off everything and simply focusing on filling our lives with the colours we want.
There are enough books that tell us how; my desire is to create books that make us do it – simply.

Today, my mind is racing with ideas about books I would like to write; and I am certain the next bright idea is not far off.

For now, my hope is that you gain as much pleasure in reading my books as I do in writing them for you. But more importantly, that each book brings out the child in you.
