This book contains hundreds of photos, mostly black-and-white, pretty much in chronological order throughout the 20th century. It was very educational for me, as I always found the royal family very confusing, because people's names and titles changed when they married or when their monarch parents died. Unfortunately, captions for the photos were grouped together on a page, and accompanying each caption was directions, like "right", "opposite above", "opposite below", etc. this made the book difficult to consume. It felt like little consideration was given to the order of the captions (random, apparently.) It would be better if the captions corresponded to the photos in a clockwise fashion, or if captions were under photos. Either change would be a significant improvement.
