A guide for to dating, relationships, and identity—from a wildly popular web comic artist.
Isn’t it wonderful when love strikes? We connect with someone beautiful and interesting and suddenly—feelings. But what to do when that first crush levels you? When sparks fly and then fizzle? Or when love just . . . hurts? Aimed at both young people who are just starting out in their love lives and those with more experience seeking a fresh perspective, How to Love is a funny, wise, and unique full-color guide to relationships of all shapes and sizes by a popular web comic creator. Chatty and confessional, humorous and heartfelt, and inclusive of all genders and sexualities, this graphic handbook pairs a classic Q&A format with Alex Norris’s bright, accessible, and unmistakably clever meta comic style. Certain to resonate with teens and adults, this one-of-a-kind guide offers valuable insights on everything from first love to self-love and love ever after.
Short, sweet, and insightful. Norris brings the humor of their "Oh No" comic series to this guide to feelings and relationships, but mixed with deep compassion. The visual metaphors are hilarious and perfect.
i would like to give this book 10 starts if it was possible. I would love to give it a thousands stars! I've been a big fan of Alex Norris and their silly little fun comics for a really long time, and this book couldn't have been more perfect and fun and cute and sensitive and relatable and adorable and full of love. I've enjoyed every single page, every single panel, and I knos that this will be one of those books that I'll read and enjoy many times. a book to pick up on any stage you're feeling any kind of love. Thank you for making this ❤️❤️❤️
This book is beautiful and silly and warm and funny and cute and all good things. It's also an excellent guide on how to love, on how communication is important, on how feelings are difficult to navigate, on how social norms and normative stories on TV make everything even harder and who and what to rely on in many cases, among many other things I'd have preferred to have known a long time ago.
Przeuroczy i zabawny komiks w prosty sposób poruszający różne zagadnienia dotyczące miłości.
a friend gifted this to me recently, and i picked it up on a whim to try to combat the massive reading slump i’m falling into— it was SO sweet and such a quick read!
Neskutočne poučné a milé.
4.5 stars! I wish it had more answers to the prompts it presented, but it was so well written even though it was brief. I think everyone should read this at least once in their lives, just to give themselves something to think about. This isn't a book to give you answers to all your problems, but it does give you another perspective for you to look at, especially if you need to look within yourself
This book literally fell into my lap (off my desk at work, where someone had left it for re-shelving) and after flipping through it for two seconds, it was so silly and funny and weird and true that I couldn't resist reading the whole thing. This book is part of our YA collection, and in many ways it's ideal for that age group because it offers insights on dating, relationships, and love in a way that is very accessible to an audience that's just beginning to discover these things; however, its gentle wisdom and advice is likely to resonate with older readers, too. A fun find!
Expansive, generous, and inclusive, yet also wonderfully concise. It says just as much as it needs to while inviting the reader to consider their own experiences fully throughout the book.
I would recommend this book to married couples, divorced adults, tweens who are curious about love and relationships, those who question or are fulfilled without romantic or sexual love or partnership in their lives, people who are many years into fulfilling relationships, and…I guess everyone, really.
This book is wonderful and, from my perspective, maybe even indispensable. It’ll probably be my go-to gift book for friends for a long time to come.
This book is so profoundly brilliant. I can't count the times I had to stop reading to really appreciate a metaphor, an image. And I think it has the power to make anybody feel understood.
I’ve loved the ‘oh no’ comics for years and have one of my favourites framed in my house. This book is a JOY.
Undoubtedly my favourite book of the year and a book for everyone of all ages and stages. I would read a Game of Thrones length series of them if Alex would draw them.
The visual treatment of the text was absolutely incredible and very funny. Some good reminders but nothing groundbreaking got me hesitating for 4 stars… I wish it went a little bit more in depth but I don’t think it’s meant to. I’m curious now to discover the original series!
