NOTE FROM NICOLE: My Goodreads library is by no means comprehensive. I have thousands of books on my real (as opposed to my Goodreads) bookshelves. However, my Goodreads library only contains those books I'd give four or five stars and would recommend to friends without hesitation (and I haven't gotten around to listing all those yet.)

Federico is the type of character that hearts dream about. Not quite perfect. Far from broken, yet winged by pain. Pia is a wanderer, searching for a place to belong. She has no problem breaking the rules, except when it comes to exposing her heart. The perfect Prince and the rebel American should have nothing in common. However, these two strangers have much to learn when it comes to knowing the rules of love. A brilliantly, dramatic yet abundantly, sweet and haunting romance.

The story was fine. I got the book for free from a clean/Wholesome book-supporting author on a audiobook day promotion. I was surprised that the kissing scenes were more in the pg-13 range, and then surprise! It's not a closed-door romance. I wouldn't bother leaving a review since it's on my "couldn't finish" shelf, but there are probably others in my same situation that would want to be aware of the book's content since the source doesn't normally promote open-door romance.

This is Book 5 of Royal Scandals: San Rimini

This is the story of Frederico & Pia. Frederico, of course, is a Prince. Pia does work traveling around the world for charity work to enlighten people about HIV. She comes backs to San Rimini to help her best friend Jennifer. She is in her last month of pregnancy and has to be on bed rest. Her husband, Prince Antony is in the middle of negotiations away from home. Frederico picks her up from the airport. He doesn't know what to make of her at first. Pia has extreme fears inside her. Frederico stayed on the safe side all his adult life. The attraction is there between them. What are they going to do about it, after hiding behind facades? You have to read the book to find out. I can tell you that you won't be disappointed. This is a great series.

Debating between 4 or 4.5 stars 🌟
This book was extremely sweet! Prince Federico is (in my opinion) a walking green flag, expressed his emotions, communicated with Pia and strived to grow as a person! And Pia too is very charming as character! Working to help othes and be better, recognizing that time and circumstances change people.. I really loved her! Her trauma was, to me, a bit exaggerated, but then again, I've never been in that sort of situation where I have to care for other children and them getting hurt.. so I cant really say much on the matter. Overall I really enjoyed this book!
What the hell! 4.5 ⭐️ it is!

Falling for Prince Federico (Royal Scandals: San Rimini, #5) is a Sweet Romance, and while it says scandals, don't be afraid to pick this up if you get anxiety from too much drama.

Tropes or themes you will find: Single Dad, prince, protector, overcoming Fear, young kids, the masks people wear, working on another language. The Story was well written, with fleshed-out dynamic characters and a world that is well built to stand alone of you just pick up this book or truly robust and fun if you read the others as well.

I got to listen to this as an audiobook and I really enjoyed the performance and thought the little boy voices where ADORABLE.

This is my 2nd favorite book in the series. Prince Federico is a very serious prince who follows the rules. He married his first wife because it was expected of him. Then comes Pia who is a very good friend to Jennifer but very insecure because of her upbringing. I just love how Federico and Pia brings out the best in each other and how Federico patiently waited for her to go back to San Rimini when she was ready. Can’t wait for the next book. Love it that every book mentions the others.

I am not a person who typically reads stories about widowers with children. I’m not sure why, but it's not a trope or genre I like, but I will say that this one wasn’t terrible. I liked the characters and the path that they took to round out the story. This is also the first book I’ve read by this author and I liked how it flirted with light hearted writing and the heavier ideas. (I also know I jumped into the middle of a series, but this is definitely a story that you could read on its own and understand where everyone is coming from. You might not be whole heartedly attached and committed to the other characters if you didn’t read the series.)

Well worth the read that will keep someone interested start to finish. Story of a widowed Prince and an AIDS relief worker. Their attraction grows the more time they are together.
Pia, the relief worker, must decide to stay in her home country or return to the career she loves.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC I received. Can’t wait to read more books about the royal family of San Rimini. These are my thoughts and opinions as I recommend this story.

Pia is staying with her friend, Jennifer, during the last month of her pregnancy at the palace. Prince Federico is on the look out for a new nanny.

Why I started this book: Needed to cross something off my list, and this was supposed to be lighthearted and quick.

Why I finished it: A little too mindless...

This was a 4.5 for me but as always, I rounded up. This was a charming contemporary romance story.
I flew through it and found both Pia and Federico to be very enjoyable pov characters. They were both sweethearts who had issues to work through, but they weren't so tormented that it grew tiresome to have to follow them around. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

A royally sweet second chance romance that had me all in my feels. Clean romance. Filled with redemption, acceptance, and love.

Sometimes love finds you after you face the truths of your past.

This is a short, sweet satisfying romance and can be read in one sitting. Frederico is a prince of San Rimini and is brother of the crown prince, Anthony. He is a widower with two small sons. Even though he's not the crown prince, he's known "as Prince Perfect for his Mediterranean good looks, unimpeachable reputation, and his devotion to duty". Pia is a relief worker, who travels all over the world, and is a native born Riminian. She's back home to help her friend, Jennifer, an American and Pia’s former boss at the refugee camp is married to Anthony, the crown prince of San Rimini.

Frederico and Pia met two years previously at the wedding of Anthony and Jennifer but had little interaction. The immediate attraction they felt for each other caught them both off guard. Unable to keep a responsible nanny for his boys, he asked Pia to help until he could hire another nanny. Their attraction grew as they interacted with each other and the boys. They both tried to ignore the attraction. Frederick finally acknowledged his attraction to Pia and tried to get her to admit that she was attracted to him. Did they start a personal relationship?

All of the characters in the book were likeable. The members of the Royal family, all of whom you met in previous books were exceptionally nice. The main characters were pretty well developed given how short the book was and the short timeframe the book covers. The chemistry between Liz and Frederick is palpable yet there is no graphic, descriptive sex, nor is it needed.

An epilogue wraps the book up nicely. However, you're left wanting more details for the timeframe between the end of the book and the Epilogue. The brief appearances by the members of the royal family makes you want to read the entire series. The book is part of a series yet it is a standalone.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This is better than The Knight's Kiss which I also reviewed as an Arc. I purchased books in The Royal Scandals Series different from these, The Royal Scandals: San Ramini, which are longer with more time given to development of the plot and characters. Falling for Prince Frederico is as good as those.

Falling For Prince Federico
Royal Scandals San Rimini Royals
Nicole Burnham
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is 💯 my favourite story in this series. Prince Federico, has always held a major role in all of the stories, along with his siblings Antony, Marco and Isabella. But Federico is guarded, quiet especially after losing his wife Lucrezia. Now as single father, Price Perfect is going to discover, that losing his wife, and his best friend doesn’t mean he’ll never find a real love, one he has never shared. My heart really broke for Federico, he is so clean cut, all about his relationship Le and country… there’s no fun in his life, everything is timed perfectly to the minute, this includes his young sons, Paolo, and Arturo who crave that fun open father.

When Pia Renati is invited to spend the final weeks of Jennifer’s pregnancy with her best friend. With Jennifer now part of he San Rimini royal family and pregnant with the newest heir to the throne, and in medical bed rest, she craves time with Pia before she starts a new job. Pia and Jennifer had spent many jobs together but their time together now and s normally by phone. So some uninterrupted time with her sounds perfect. But when she is greeted by Prince Federico at the airport her body betrays her. She is instantly taken by the prince, she knows of him, but not a lot about him… It seems the chemistry is not one sided.

As Pia enjoys her time at the palace, she gets to really spend time with Federico, and his gorgeous sons ( although their first encounter was less then perfect). But Pia and her odd outlook on life, her quick wit and her Americanisms intrigue the prince. In a life that is constantly in the media, Federico opens up to the crazy American, and discovers she is who his life has been waiting for! They make a funny, beautiful couple and the perfect Family, if she can continue to open up his perfect persona and he can talk her into staying in San Rimini. Many choices, many decisions, perfect conclusions!

The latest instalment in Nicole Burnham’s Royal San Rimini series sees Prince Frederico diTalora (alias the Perfect Prince) continuing to struggle following the sudden and unexpected death of his wife Lucrezia. His two boisterous sons, Arturo and Paola, also miss their mother and continue to push boundaries as they vie for love and attention.
Enter into La Rocca (the palace) Pia Renati, close friend of Jennifer di Talora who was her former boss at a refugee camp prior to her marriage to Prince Antony. With Prince Antony away on an important diplomatic mission, Pia has arrived to keep Jennifer company during the final weeks of her pregnancy.
Frederico and Pia find themselves attracted to each other and as they spend time together with Arturo and Paola, their feelings continue to grow. However, both have personal issues that threaten the developing relationship as well as Pia's new job awaiting her in Africa.
I had been eagerly awaiting the next book in Nicole Burnham’s Royal San Rimini series. Once l downloaded it, I read it over two days, impatient to see how the relationship between Frederico and Pia would develop. Nicole Burnham’s stories are written in an engaging manner, giving her readers a rich description of royal life that makes the narrative all that much more enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed Frederico and Pia's story that continues the San Rimini series where different members of the diTalora family find true love to enhance both their lives and royal duties.
Rest assured it doesn't matter if you haven't read the earlier books in the series as it is an enjoyable and entertaining read as a stand-alone book. However, if you get the chance, the earlier books are well worth a read as you get to meet all the members of the family and follow their pathways to true love. This story continues the family's story and was well worth the wait.

I really enjoyed this sweet romance of Pia and Federico. Pia was not too impressed by Federico when she met him at Jennifer’s wedding to his brother the crown prince. Of course he was married then, now he is the perfect bachelor but single parent to his two sons. Pia and Federico meet again as he picks her up at the airport upon her arrival back into San Rimini to keep Jennifer company during the latter stages of a difficult pregnancy. The story is told from both of these main character's point of view which was a nice addition. Pia is worried about how she is going to help Jennifer when she believes herself to be incompetent with anything to do with children.
It is an interesting car ride conversation they both engage in on the way to the castle. Federico wants to speak English since Pia is fluent in the language and knows the slang or less formal way of speaking English than what Federico had been taught or uses since he is known as prince perfect. They both appear to be attracted to each other but don’t want to admit it.
A few weeks later Pia suffers a wound to her head because one of Federico’s sons. A whole chain of events happen that result in a kiss from Federico to Pia as they are leaving the hospital. I quite liked the antics that Federico’s sons get up to. They are quite typical of children that age and Pia enjoys her time with them but is afraid she can not keep them safe. Eventually, Pia overcomes that fear and the romance blossoms while Jennifer delivers the next heir to the throne. It really was a sweet romance and lovely to see that there was more to Federico than prince perfect.

What makes a parent? How do you deal with rambunctious children? What if they get into trouble? Does something that happens in your youth change how you view yourself and how you live your life? These are some of the questions that this book covers. Frederico has two young boys who are full of life. He is going through nannies at an amazing rate, because the nannies are not always in charge. Pia is in the palace to keep here friend Jennifer company as she spends the end of her pregnancy on bed rest. She is used to a much more active life and looks for something more energetic to do. She runs into the two young princes and falls for them. She has also met Frederico and gets to know him better also. They both have to overcome events in their pasts and their reputations to find the future they desire.

Pia has come to help her best friend in her final weeks of her pregnancy while her best friends husband is away on royal duty. She doesn't expect a royal escort to the palace by an eligible bachelor especially not the widowed royal brother- Prince Federico.

At first glance she's not put together and definitely not he type. But with more time together maybe he never knew his type. Especially with how she brings him out of his shell and her interactions with his sons. But could he...

I absolutely enjoyed this story. I loved the others, but single dad's and especially this one got me a little more. It was a page turner. Their romance was whirlwind while she stayed her few weeks but it continued to grow.

I'm excited to see the King's HEA next.

Living the life of a widow has forced Prince Federico to withdraw into himself; that is until Pia, an international social worker calls him out on it. While Pia is in San Rimini to help her best friend, Jennifer, through the last stages of pregnancy, she befriends Prince Federico and his two sons. Pia forces his hand and makes Federico realize that he isn't living and that his sons are suffering; but his staunch devotion to his royal duties threatens to keep him from falling in love for the very first time.

A sweet romance about a second chance at love! An enjoyable read with admirable characters who have devoted their lives to others.

I read an ARC of Falling for Prince Federico and willingly left this honest review.

Prince Federico is feeling guilty because his wife is dead and he wasn't in love with her. He has 2 sons who are very active that he tries to spend time with. But he also feels a duty to his country and does not want to let anyone down. In between her refugee missions, Pia is visiting her pregnant friend who has been confined to bed. She's bored with that task and, after boomerang incident, she begins to spend time playing with the boys . Of course, that brings her closer to Prince Federico and they find a mutual respect and love. This was a good book. I love that Ms. Burnham gives us snippets of the other family members so the books fit together and we find out what everyone is doing.

Federico and Pia are both dealing with pasts that make them hesitant to take a chance on each other. Pia, a humanitarian helping her friend until she sets off on the next job, battles her feelings for the prince and is terrified of putting his children in danger. Federico feels he’s robbed his dead wife of the chance for true love and battles his guilt over it. Both have to work together and on their own to figure out how to overcome these feelings and find each other. This was a quick and easy read that follows Federico and Pia working their way toward a future together. If you’re looking for a book that you can enjoy without stressing you out (because we all could use a break with this virus running around), then I definitely recommend this book.

Pia Renati and Federico diTalora could not be more mismatched if they tried. He's Prince Perfect after all and she's a khaki and tee shirt kind off girl. Yet they each have something to teach the other. Spending time with the Prince and his sons reminds her of her shortcomings. Pia's naturalness and affability with Federico's boys reinforces a need to become a better father. He realizes, maybe for the first time in his life, that he's falling love and doesn't want to do it alone. Despite the fact that he knows she shares his feelings, convincing Pia to become part of his life is another matter completely.

A prince who thinks he has to be perfect. A woman who has felt her entire life that she never has been good enough. Conflicting obligations, both real and imagined. This attraction cannot go further, not the least because neither feels they deserve the other. I enjoyed watching Pia and Frederico help each other grow personally, and eventually grow to love each other. As a bonus, the little boy princes were a fun and engaging part of this story.

Spoiler alert - This book captivated from the first page. After reading the preceding books in this series, I was waiting for Prince Federico to have his happily ever after. And in comes Pia Renati. From the time they met I was waiting for both to tell each other how attracted they were to each other. I feel for Prince Federico having so many rules to follow as a prince and Pia had so many doubts as to their relationship. But in the end their love prevailed and they were able to form a loving and caring family. I love this series and loved this book!

Nicole Burnham is a favorite author of mine. I absolutely love the romance royal trope. This book was well written with a great storyline. Although it's a standalone, it's so much better from reading the whole series. I was looking forward to Price Federico's story and was not disappointed. His story was the most heartbreaking for me. I couldn't wait for him to get a HEA. Such a good read.
