Well, my one and only 5 star read for 2025 is a porn novel....go figure.
Not safe for work, just read it in the confines of your house....
This wasn't actually my first choice pick; my perverted husband chose it for me.
He hasn't read it but watches dirty movies so there it goes.

This wasn't really any different than any other dirty romance novel.
It actually had a plot and really didn't have as much sex as I expected.
It had mystery, suspense, romance, drama and yes, sex.

I actually preferred to read this when my husband wasn't home; I guess you could say it became my dirty little secret or felt like it.

And then there's John Holmes AKA Johnny Wadd....

I'm not going to start reading porn novels on a regular basis but was fine to break up the routine of what i usually read.
If the author produced more, I'd read them.
He's a great writer and was descriptive in his writing.
Bob Chinn is not only an author but also a director of porn films.

My favorite character was George Lee; he was the detective and friend of Johnny and brought the comedic relief.

It took me so long to read it because I started going through a terrible reading slump and have had other things going on. It felt like a chore to pick it up but that was due to me.

Adult film pioneer Bob Chinn adapts his second "Johnny Wadd" film into a detective novel, and it's okay. Despite being an adult film watcher and knowing some of the history of Chinn, star John Holmes and this legendary series that was the inspiration behind many of the scenes in "Boogie Nights", I haven't actually WATCHED a Johnny Wadd film. So I can't tell you how much this strays from the film, but I'm guessing it's pretty much completely different. Main surprise is straight this is - it's not a sleazy sex novel at all. It's a decent crime novel with Wadd being a surprisingly lame duck of a swinging dick compared to the "Mike Hammer" style detectives of the genre. Which isn't a flaw, it certainly sets this to be different. Chinn does nail the period and Los Angeles of the era, going deep into some local history and what not which is admirable. Chinn also nails the ending, so the journey pays off. My mistake with this was expecting it to be more porn and it really isn't that. I'd read another volume of this he puts one out.
