After a drunken blackout, Vivian wakes up to find that the man she almost married is gone, and her life is even more uncertain than before. But the chaos of her present is eclipsed by a mystery from the past—why did her father abandon her and disappear twenty-eight years ago?
To find the truth, she and her sister, Lucy, must solve a series of cryptic riddles. Their only ally is Adrian, a private investigator with a cocky attitude and secrets of his own. Forced to work together, Vivian and Adrian clash at every turn, but the hatred they share isn’t enough to deny the attraction between them.
As they delve deeper into the baffling web of mysteries, they find themselves entangled with the dangerous and unpredictable fae. In a world where no one is what they seem, Vivian must decide who is friend and who is foe. Will she find answers to questions about the past or will the fae decide her fate?
Bargained Magic is the third book that follows Vivian Foxworthy’s story of trying to get her sh!t in order, dangerous fae bargains, her ever-evolving magic, and man problems 🥰😈
What I loved about this third book the most is… well, where her said “man problems” leads to and getting to see more of the magical world-building that expands throughout each book.
I was lucky enough to ARC read for the second book in this series, and I happily came back to ARC read for Bargained Magic because I enjoyed the first 2 books so much!
SPOILERS AHEAD
This book has me at 5 stars as a culmination of where Vivian and friends ended up from books 1 and 2. Bargained Magic felt like the right direction of where their lives were going even though there is always a mystery up ahead. Finally we got to uncover the on-going mystery of their jack-wagon of a dad. The writing for Vivian and Her sister’s reaction and personalities showed that Haven Price really knows her characters.
The direction of Vivian’s and Aiden’s hate to love was phenomenal. I’ve read a lot of the enemies to lovers umbrella of tropes, but this book truly dug in from how much they irritated each other in the previous books to their hate f*cking. Haven wrote spectacular hate s3x, especially the confusion, remorse, and attraction after Vivian and Aiden’s first round in the hay 😂
Getting to learn more about the magical world-building was a relief. I noticed the we saw a little more and more after each book came out. There’s a lot of play area Haven can do in this world, and I think we got that in this book!
The Vivian Foxworthy series is an urban paranormal/fantasy series that deals with dark and light magic, fae, magicians, vampires, shifters, and more! Expect themes of redemption, vengeance, and love.
This is an adult series that does contain explic!t spicy scenes and action/magical and non-magical v!olence. 😈😮💨
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be an ARC reader and give my honest review.
I’ve read all three books now in the Vivian Foxworthy series and I just wanna start out by saying I’m really sad I have to leave these characters for a while, while I wait for the (hopefully!!) next book!
I got Buffy meets Harry Potter vibes as soon as I started reading Darkened Magic and couldn’t put the series down.
I related to Vivian so much. I could feel she so desperately wanted to move on, start over but her guilt and shame from her time with Seth was overwhelming. I have loved watching her development over these three books and truly hope we get at least one more book to at least see her process what she’s been through and realize she really does deserve the happiness I know she wants but thinks she isn’t worthy of.
I wasn’t thrilled with the connection to Adrian at first but he accepted her exactly as she is, baggage and all and after Quinn I think she needed that. (Side note: thank you for getting me rid of that dick!!)
If urban fantasy, morally grey characters, magic, and a little spice are up your alley, read this series!!.

This one wasn’t as actiony or dramatic as the previous books but it’s my favourite of the series thus far.
Vivian and Lucy receive a cryptic letter from their father saying they’ll receive three riddles to find three magical objects. He doesn’t tell them why, what he needs the objects for or why they need to retrieve them for him, just vague AF.
So because Vivian is a distrusting soul when it comes to her sperm donor, she immediately thinks the worst. But Lucy is so desperate to find the good in their father, so hopeful that he had a really good reason for leaving her as a child, that Vivian agrees to help. Because she loves her sister and needs to be there for her in the inevitable fallout.
Also, all the riddle solving and object hunting make for a great distraction over Quin’s total abandonment. Not cool, Quin. I mean he literally disappeared off the face of the earth - I kept thinking there’s more to this, and maybe there still will be in future books?
The hate fucking with Adrian was bound to happen and was incredibly hot when it did. Many orgasms, a lot of him keeping her at arm’s length, but also a lot of him clearly caring for her in his own way. I’m really keen to learn more about him and their whole situation!
Can I just say at this point that every time we got a truth out of dear old dad, it just got worse and worse? I mean we all - bar Lucy - expected the worst of him but…I think he even surpassed that.
I like that the ending gives a tiny bit of closure with no cliffhanger BUT leaves it very open for more books in the series.
And damn do I hope there are more books because I have questions. And anticipation. And theories. And probably more questions!
ARC kindly provided in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you so much to Haven Price for the opportunity to read and review this book!
Bargained Magic is a paranormal urban fantasy and book three in The Vivian Foxworthy series. This book picks up right after the end of Challenged Magic, book two, and I’m going to keep this as vague as possible to avoid spoilers. Vivian is reeling from the events at the end of the second book. As she helps Adrian with a case, she realizes there might be more to him that she originally believed
This was a fun read and a great continuation of the series. Vivian’s struggles were absolutely relatable and I enjoyed seeing her growth during this book. I really liked learning more about Adrian and I hope to see more of him in the future - I would have loved to see some chapters from his PoV! The continued world building in this series was super fun as well
Overall this was a four star read for me! I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more in this series! This book did have some spicy scenes throughout so three flames for spice
If you’re a fan of urban fantasy with strong characters, possessive men, and engaging magic systems, then absolutely pick up this series!! As there is an overarching storyline, I definitely recommend reading the series in order.
This book is my absolute favorite so far! The dynamic between Vivian and Adrian is amazing, kind of an enemies to lovers/friends with benefits thing where Adrian always gives her the truth even when it hurts or makes her feel like crap and Vivian challenges him in a way that he craves. Feels like the whole book moves a lot faster than previous ones and the plot is great! You see Vivian really growing as a person and her relationship with her sister takes on a new dynamic as she actually takes Adrian's advice every once in awhile. Crazy excited for the next book, can't wait to see where magic takes these characters!.

Firstly, thanks for letting me arc read this book 🥰 I want to start by saying that I NEVER expected that big plot twist in the end! But I liked how they handled it! There are also some other plot twists that I did not expect. Like I knew there was something that would be revealed but just didn't know for sure what it would be. The story continues immediately from the last scene in book 2 which I really liked and I think this book is my favorite in the whole series now! It has these fun things that I obviously can't spoil but it's just good! You have to read it to get it. If you're looking for a fun and good fantasy series I would definitely recommend looking into this one!
After her break-up with Quin, he disappears from the face of the earth and Vivian is again stuck in a loop of self-doubt and loneliness.
With the sudden turn-up of riddles leading to magical objects, she has at least something to distract herself. But she has to work with the infuriating and handsome PI Adrian to solve the riddles.
And then there's her and her sister's long lost dad. As the mysteries pile up and their group is forced to face reality, will Vivian be able to overcome her doubts and find her strength?
Oh boy, I love twists, turns, riddles and mysteries. The dynamic between Vivian and Adrian is getting really 🔥🌶️ and the way everything is solved at the end?! Fantastic!!
First of all, thank you so much to Haven Price for the ARC and for sharing her work with me. As always, my review is honest.
This is the third book in a series and though I haven't read the first 2, I was still able to enjoy and understand the story. Of course, because I lacked the context of the first 2 books, it sometimes felt like I was dropped in the middle of something I should be familiar with. But it wasn't difficult to find my footing.
There are riddles, hate sex smut, action, and some twists and turns. Some of them are predictable, but still a lot of fun. Overall, a very entertaining story. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4!
What a third book! I liked the adventure we get to go on this time round with Vivian and the crew. Vivian is such a bad ass though she is dealing with life and love she always finds a way. The plot was good we get new elements and twist that the character has to navigate through I loved the riddle element. I loved that we got more spice in this book the tension and angst was delicious. Getting to know more about Adrian was a treat 😋. Haven has made a great world and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I am so honored for the opportunity to receive an ARC of this book from Haven Price because I read the whole thing in one sitting and I absolutely loved it. Bargained Magic was such a wonderful continuation of The Vivian Foxworthy Series. Vivian’s struggles throughout the story were really relatable and it was wonderful to see her growth as a character. I truly enjoyed reading this story and I can’t wait to read future books from Haven Price and more books in this series.
**ARC** This book had everything I didn’t know I needed! I loved the magical elements in it and I especially loved that there was some spice in it! The only thing that would have made it better for me was it I had taken the time to read the other books in the series but I didn’t find myself completely confused which is a complete kudos to the author!
